Cue the nerd to crouch and pick his beloved queen from the ground.

His mind stop functioning when she agreed to Marry him. He had to clear his throat, fiddle with his glasses. A goofy grin leaning it on his lips. He looked down. He knew it was barely after exams. But better now than never. A soon as he came back to his senses; he took ahold of her hand gently leaving a kiss left on it while he placed the ring on her finger.

“No. It’s not like Mal or Ben.”

He stood up; holding her hands within his own. 

“I think, we’re better.”

Pressing his forehead against hers, that smile never left his lips. He instead let out a soft sigh of joy as he stared into her eyes. He didn’t want to leave. Never. Evie was his one and only. He’d rather her than anyone else. He hummed slightly before opening his mouth to speak again.

He chuckled to the mention of being Prince. He- was a mere student. Son of a dwarf. One that has miscapabilities. He was the blessing out of the blog. Or so they claimed him to be.

He loved making her smile. He didn’t always shower in gifts. He’s shower her in kind words. Often take her to places she didn’t go to yet. Seeing her so memorised by the glittering jewels built his confidence to what her real gift was. Although, it really did take him more than just- buying it. He practiced in the mirror. Got advice from his uncles. 

Everything the boy could do to help him be calm about this.

“You’re more than Pretty, Evie. Pretty doesn’t even define how elegant and graceful you are.” 

His hand hesitated to reach into his pocket. But it did. Taking a heavy sigh. Doug moved back a few to get himself on one knee. In his mind he was panicking. What if she said no. What if I’m doing this wrong. All sorts ran through his mind. But in reality. He opened up the small black box to reveal a small, golden hooped ring with tiny diamonds inside those hoops. A large aquamarine inside of a deep cut diamond itself, bridged with gold on the outside. The best for his princess. He had the ring custom made.

Oh god.

“You, my enchanting princess, My everything. Evie Grimhilde. You were so beautiful the day I met you. And have been ever since. Kindhearted, brave and always there for everyone you see, hear or know of. You’re smart. The best. I would never have thought; someone who is as unique as you. Before I met you. I was so lost and stupid. Now. That I have you, I see the light in the worlds darkness. I see you. 

First meeting you was. Strange. I wasn’t afraid. I wasn’t judging like everyone else. To be fair. I was excited to meet you. To see your smile rose butterflies in my stomach. Made me realise that- the world is a place worth living on. 

You’re so.. kind and generous. Gentle and soft. You bring hope with ever step you take. Willing to give people chances. I’m stuck on words to say even though there are infinity of the words to describe you. But nobody will ever be able to use them because when those words sit next to you. You make them smaller because you’re so much more than that.

“They’ve done a splendid job. You can see the professionalism from far away.. And it just so happens to be on someone whom I treasure most.”

Unfortunately for Doug, he had to borrow his Uncle’s glasses. His father might’ve- maybe sat upon his own and snapped them. While they give him a hard time seeing still.. He managed.

“Well, if my Uncle classes as a Prince. Maybe. I uh, borrowed his for  while till my new prescription passes through.”

And then he remembered.

He had gone out much earlier to take in some Rubies and Sapphires to a jewels store. His Princess would never be spoilt enough by himself. And without much to do the boy turned to the gift box. Inside laid out a small tiara chasled with Rubies and Sapphires. 

Doing his homework alone was his first mistake. Clearly he not being in one of her classes but his own put him in that place he has one bargain of homework to do for himself. Which she offered to help with many, many times. Her soothing voice sank into his ears enough for him to turn around with almost an instant smile on his face.

“M’lady.”

He returned her greeting with his own. Although the Twinkie suddenly given to him made his mun remind himself of why he choose to be so..horrific in the first place. May yet he knows what comes next whether he want not to say or to say. A given sharp inhale complied with listening to his beloved words.

“I’ll take it, but.”

It is indecent. But it’s for the shits and giggles. A laugh or so. Maybe a flirt too settle the scores for how she tries so hard to flirt with him. Latter the meaning he yet to admit it works. Nor will he in the future. 

“But I’d rather eat you out instead.”
