Does anyone else really want zoos in ?

Because I cannot stop thinking about how perfect a proper, functional zoo system would be in this game.

Not just gallery builds pretending to be zoos. Not just using household pets and pretending. I mean an actual system built into gameplay where you can run and manage a zoo.

You could be a zoo vet, a zookeeper, or even a wildlife park ranger managing conservation areas. You could design and build your own zoo from the ground up — layout enclosures, manage staff, care for animals, and actually watch visitors interact with the space.

It could even work like a hybrid lot type: part public park, part managed facility, with the option for your Sim to live in an apartment or staff quarters somewhere on the property.

And the animal potential is honestly endless:

Australian wildlife

African savanna animals

North and South American species

Primates of all kinds

Big cats and smaller wild cats

Reptile houses, aquariums, aviaries

There’s no point listing everything because the variety is just that big.

And zoos aren’t just animals either — there’s so much gameplay depth they could add:

Gift shops where you sell souvenirs, plushies, photos, and merch

Educational tours and guided visits

Separate zones like reptile houses, mammal enclosures, aquarium sections

Conservation and breeding programs

Animal enrichment and habitat design mechanics

I don’t know if it’s just me, but the idea of a Sims 4 zoo expansion feels like it would fit perfectly with the game’s existing systems.

I genuinely keep wondering if EA will ever do a The Sims 4 Alaska-inspired pack, because it feels like such an untapped goldmine for gameplay.

Imagine an Alaskan homestead system — not just decorative snow worlds, but a full survival-lifestyle pack. Even rabbit-hole style systems would work for things like hunting seasons or wilderness expeditions, but the potential is so much bigger.

We already have cozy farming in The Sims 4: Cottage Living and ranch life in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch, but Alaska feels like the next natural step — something harsher, wilder, and more ecosystem-driven.

Dog sledding teams. Dog sledding competitions. Actual working sled systems with trained huskies pulling across frozen terrain. That alone feels like a missed opportunity waiting to happen.

And the world design possibilities are insane:

The Arctic — permafrost landscapes, polar bears, bowhead whales, huge migrating caribou herds

The Interior — boreal forests and mountain ranges like Denali, deep wilderness survival gameplay

Southeast Alaska — fjords, islands, temperate rainforests, humpback whales, orcas, bald eagles everywhere

It would be one of the most visually stunning worlds they’ve ever made if they leaned into it properly.

And the gameplay systems?? There’s so much they could expand on:

Homesteading and survival-style gameplay

Expanded preservation systems (beyond Cottage Living’s canning) like drying, smoking, and curing meat

Fishing, gathering, and seasonal survival mechanics

Wildlife encounters that actually feel alive and reactive

Off-grid living taken to a whole new level

Even cultural depth could be represented respectfully — Alaska Native communities like the Iñupiat, Yup’ik, and Gwich’in have rich traditions tied to land, seasons, and survival. That kind of worldbuilding could add so much authenticity if done carefully.

I don’t know if this is just me watching too many Alaskan wilderness documentaries and survival shows, but a pack like this feels like it would fit perfectly into The Sims ecosystem.

I still cannot believe The Sims 4 gave us both Cottage Living and Horse Ranch and somehow we still don’t have pigs.

Cottage Living was the perfect moment for it. Chickens, cows, llamas — it already felt like the start of a full farm life system, and pigs would’ve fit in perfectly. I genuinely thought they were going to be there, and I’m still surprised they weren’t.

Then Horse Ranch dropped, and I thought, “Okay, surely now we’re getting expanded farm animals — maybe different cattle breeds like Texas Longhorns, and finally pigs.”

And yet… nothing.

Pigs would’ve been such a great addition, not just visually but mechanically too. They could’ve actually done something interesting with them:

A scrap/food waste bin system where leftover meals go to pigs as feed

Pigs acting as natural “rototillers,” clearing overgrown land or prepping soil for gardening

Manure that actually boosts gardening systems in a meaningful way

A butcher system with pork chops, sausages, ham dinners, etc. (or at least gameplay equivalents)

A mud “pig pen” or pool where they roll around and get messy and happy

It just feels like such a missed opportunity for both packs. Cottage Living started the perfect foundation, and Horse Ranch could’ve expanded the whole homestead/farm ecosystem — but pigs would’ve tied it together so well.

The inferno of rage is sweet and bitter and so easy to give into,

But once you have,

When you come back to yourself, your careful control!

You are left and guilty and miserable, to see all that you have burnt, all that you have destroyed!

And you will have to ask yourself, what's it worth it to give in to your hatred, your vengeance, anger & spite to let that inferno inside of you free?

That brief flicker of rage,

Can be very dangerous and powerful,

It can be alluring

Like a lovers touch,

It can be Intimidating,

Like a king of old,

It is forever so tempting,

But your rage is dangerous, so before you give in and open your arms to it,

Like I have done often & far too many times,

Remember those burns & remember those ashes

And ask yourself if it is truly worth it,
