He sighed, dropping down next to her. “They wanted to try to get me to go back to school.”

Amanda sighed, taking a long sip as she curled up on the couch. “Why were you with mom and dad?”

“Doesn’t matter,” he said with a shrug, opening his beer and taking a swig.

“Can I have one too?” Amanda asked

“Here,” Noah said, handing her his and getting one for himself.

Sighing, Amanda dropped her head back against the couch.

After covering the spot, Noah sighed, getting himself a beer from the fridge.

Amanda bit her lip, but nodded. “Thank you,” She whispered, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

“No problem,” he said, getting up to get neosporin and a bandaid.

Amanda was sitting on the the couch holding the splintered hand in the other, trying not to look at it.

Noah didn’t say anything as he came in, tossed his bag aside and knelt down in front of his sister, plucking the splinter out and throwing it in the garbage. “Better?”
