Noah Myles Smith; apple of my eye [wip]
have you seen ( Noah Myles Smith, he, him )? They look a lot like ( Lakeith Stanfield ). The ( thirty-four ) year old ( winemaker ) is so ( gentle, ambitious, loyal ) but I heard they can also be really ( stubborn, impulsive, insecure ). Can you believe they’ve been in town for ( 10 years )?! They live in the ( The Cove ) neighborhood and kind of remind me of ( plump, vibrant grapes plucked from the vine, dirt under fingernails, the woody, sweet smell of wine barrels, riding a perfect wave, and a swear in French under his breath ). If I was asked, I’d guess that they were ( the most likely to leave Carroll ) in their yearbook for the class of ( 2009 ).
Alumna/Newcomer/Celeb?: Alumna
Very Brief Character Background ( Usually a paragraph, but 3-5 sentences minimum ):
The youngest of four siblings, nine years younger than Neylani (calls her Ney-Ney)
Grew up in a military family, his father was a stern man who expected all of his children to protect and serve their county. His mother was sweet and kind and the love of his father's life.
Noah took after his mother and was a complete and utter momma's boy–gentle hands and a big heart. She nurtured his love for the culinary arts. They spent their days in the kitchen laughing and making the biggest messes.
It was clear from a young age that Noah couldn't follow in the Smith Family footsteps. He was too soft, too gentle. He wanted to make things with his hands, not destroy them.
He was the baby of the family and adored his older sister even if he was a pain in her side.
Noah was barely a teenager when their mother passed. With Ney away from military service, Noah felt utterly alone. His beauty and tender-nature reminded his father too much of his late wife and it was painful. Noah began to rebel and would rather spend the night at a friend's house than be in his own home.
At eighteen, he was accepted into Bordeaux Sciences Agro for Viticulture and Enology where he received a bachelor and master's degree. He was terrified to tell his family that he was going against transitions and leaving for France.
His move put further strain on his relationship with his father and siblings but his father begrudgingly accepted the facts that he can't control the lives of his children. (His father does like to start shit at family gatherings though).
Noah came to life in Europe. He was a sponge that soaked up all the information he could. The food, the art, the wine. All of it.
It was in France that he met Amélie, a French woman a decade his senior. She was brilliant and vibrant and an inspiration to Noah. Her free spirit moved him. She was a fashion designer that frequented the same clubs as Noah's circle and eventually he worked up the courage to talk to her. They became unlikely friends beneath the neon lights.
A few months into their friendship, Amelia confessed that she was dying–a brain tumor. Her only wish was that she could have had a wedding at the Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion in Bordeaux.
Without hesitation, Noah said he'd marry her. His feelings weren't romantic but that didn't matter. He would marry her. Amélie laughed in his face. She said, “Noah, darling, you're 21. You can't marry me.” And he said, “Yes, you can.” So they did and it was beautiful.
They had three years together full of light and laughter. He'd grown to love her as a person, as his best friend. She was brilliant until the very end.
After her death, Noah left France with a sizable inheritance, a master's degree, and some of the best references a winemaker could ask for.
He moved back to Carroll and bought an old Vineyard. Rehabbing the faculty, the place quickly became a staple for Carroll and a tourist attraction. He renamed it Golden Coast Vineyard.
Noah struggles with pretty severe anxiety and manages it with medication.
He adores his older sister and is happy to be back in Carroll with his family even if it's difficult at times.
Isn't the best with relationships because he is painfully aware that people die.
His hobbies include hiking, surfing, and garden, (obviously). He collects unique wine as well.
He's been back in Carroll for ten years.
Bisexual because big sis Ney said he can kiss whoever he wants.
