My favorite design would be the second option which gives some colour and a little more openness and creative ideas. 

Our original layout options had changed around quite a bit once it came to the final production. As a group, we all contributed to the layout. Although there were some communication issues between the group on what was done, It still tuned out good.

From the feedback we got from our in-class presentation we added a few extra details but the original idea was like and went well overall.

THE 90s OVERALL “The 90s was filled with iconic and favorable items from food to toys. Being in Australia naturally our iconic food is different and better than the rest of the world. We had fairy bread, ring pops, smiley potato chips and of course the classic roll-ups. While we snacked on our all-time favorite foods we played with our Care Bears, Polly pockets, Betty spaghettis, and Tamagotchis, that was when we weren’t collecting and trading Tazos from chip packets. The 90s was a time where we would borrow our parents flip phone and use it like our own, or if we were lucky enough, we could have the ultimate see-through phone that was desired by all teen girls. Overall the 90s held a strong aesthetic that is still loved today. And to this day we still reminisce about the good old days and whip out our Tamagotchis to look after our digital babies.”

The celebrity crossword was a late addition but just details a simple crossword with 90s themed celebrities as the answers.

Along with the mini article and the creation of slang ‘stickers’ I also created a meme with the slang that follows another ‘Tag yourself’ meme. (Follows the second image format) The meme just entails a good vs neutral vs evil notions to using said words.

Deciding that a good addition to the layout ould be a ‘Chatterbox How-to’ of which I constructed in illustrator and just shows a simple 9 step procedure to create a chatterbox to do with whatever your heart desires.

We also decided on incorporating a kind of pokemon card/tag about us, the ‘trainers’ in the pokemon theme. We placed out ‘attacks’ and stats of how we contributed to the project.

Article “Neopets were a staple of childhood in the late 90s, kids grew up with these small stuffed, funky looking creatures in their hand that found their way all over the place. From taken into school to show your friends to shoved around the room when playing with siblings. Neopets were a great addition to the 90s, including the iconic Neopets website, where one could create their own Neopet, but its food, gifts, toys and explore the vast lands of the Neopet world. Neopets filled the grounds for some of the best fun with friends during our childhood, and are an iconic McDonalds toy, that was/ if not is the best happy meal toys have been in a long time.”

“The music era of the 90’s is probably regarded as one of the best decades of music, it brought out the bops that we all know and love. Some of the most iconic songs of the era like  “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears and Nirvana's classic “Smells like teen spirit” are still being played in cars today. Ask anyone from the 90s and the answer is the same “90s music is the best”, has music really gone downhill? Well, it depends on who you ask. Some say it's all repetitive pop music that sounds the same, however, the 90s had such diversity within their music styles, and others will tell you that we’ve accumulated new songs and styles that they’ve now become so iconic that everyone man and their grandma have heard and enjoyed it.“

This addition to the article is a modern twist on the ideals of horoscopes and one's star sign. It is based off a popular horoscope meme format (as seen in the second image). Except we based this one off 90s themed foods. 

For this article, I discussed the nostalgic aspect of looking back on old tv shows we grew up with as kids and how different they are to today's shows.  As well as the inclusion of some illustrations of the Powerpuff girls, a Pokemon and a Pokeball.

“The consoles we know and loved throughout the 90s have gone through much development over the years. Gaming consoles began on a 16-bit system and very low-quality graphics, terrible in-game camera angles and terrible controls when compared to today's video games. We have advanced very quickly with our development in technology over the last two decades and as a result, we have gained new systems such as the PlayStation 2,3 and 4, Xbox, Xbox 1 and Xbox 360, as well as the Nintendo switch. Which are some of today's biggest console brands and gaming systems available. They hold a high tech 64-bit processor and runs smoothly and effectively holds a multitude of data within it data storage. Able to run any game installed onto it. The biggest difference in the growth of consoles is beside the visual quality is the system itself and what it can run and process within its hardware. Overall the development of all these new models will gladly lead to newer and better system for better quality, gameplay, and controls, of which the 90s kids will be glad they can effortlessly use.” - For this article, it was a short summary of how gaming systems have changed from what they used to be.  - The timeline depicts each console brought out with the 90s, done in Illustrator.

This article in general just discussed the nostalgic feeling of old video games and a bit about how the times have changed.

For this article of ‘Game Review,’ I compared the original games of the 90s including Grand Theft Auto, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda and Pokemon. The article details the graphics, controls, gameplay and the overall story and explores the changes over time compared to the newer version of the game in current times.
