Furihata, a college student strapped for cash, finds a part-time job working at an upscale restaurant as a waiter, and one fateful evening an Adonis of a man is sitting in Furihata's section with the epitome of a middle-aged businessman. Somehow conquering his gay panic, Furihata serves the two men. Polite and courteous, the young man may be but his companion is brusque and rude not only to Furihata but to the redhead. Grateful to fulfill to leave, Furihata quickly goes to input their orders, when he returns a few short moments later the businessman looks sufficiently defeated and cowed. The young man sits triumphant, in control, and naturally terrifies Furihata to his core. How could someone, seemingly his own age, change the viotile atmosphere so quickly in his favor? It turns out - from the black credit card he paid with - Akashi Seijuurou could.
For better or worse, after multiple repeat weeks it seems that Akashi-san arranges work dinners at this restaurant and prefers to sit on the deck for a better view of the Tokyo cityscape or perhaps it's for the brief refreshing company of a specific server he wishes to know better?
For weeks, Akashi-san keeps arranging work dinners in the restaurant where Kōki works. And each time, the former always, always, always specifically requested the latter to serve him personally.
One day, Akashi-san is having yet another work dinner with a particularly loud, foul-mouthed & rowdy business partner. Said business partner keeps making rude gestures & insulting comments about everything. He swung his arms wildly that he knocked Kōki off-balance, causing him to stumble & spill the other customers' foods & drinks he was carrying.
But of course, since the business partner is an unreasonable jerk, he blames Kōki for not being careful enough & demands responsibility from the waiter. Kōki wants to protest, but he can't afford to lose his job, so he just endures it.
Thankfully, his co-workers, manager & the other customers saw what happened, so Kōki knows he's not the one guilty. But that doesn't stop the business partner's rants & tantrums. If anything, it only provokes him further. The manager eventually has to call security guards to escort him out.
A few hours passed & it's closing time. Kōki switches the lights off, locks the back door & exits the restaurant. He turns to the side & spotted Akashi-san standing in front of the restaurant's now closed entrance.
This, of course, makes Kōki nervous. But at the same time, he couldn't deny that a small part of him was actually curious about the whole thing. Was Akashi-san waiting for him? What could possibly bother him so much that he was willing to wait until the restaurant closed? Oh God, did he somehow offend him so much without even realizing it?
But all those worries & anxiety were for naught when Akashi-san approached him & the first thing he asked Kōki about was his well-being.
They talk, and, much to Kōki's surprise, he found himself actually enjoying Akashi-san's company. The businessman even offered the waiter a ride home, seeing there are no more trains operating at this late hour.
So when they reached Kōki's place, he felt somewhat reluctant to say goodbye to Akashi-san, but the latter assured the former that he's looking forward to having another work dinner at the restaurant.
As a bonus, Akashi-san gave Kōki his business card, with a handwritten number on the back (which Akashi-san confirmed as his personal number - the printed number on the front is his work/business number).
Kōki felt like the happiest guy on earth.
