It’s weird loving someone who’s your weakness and your strength.

Delicate strums now, they pierce the soul— because they sound like your eyes, soft, familiar, a melody I once called home. The piano keys dance, like the ghost of your arms, your hands— holding me tightly, then not at all. Headphones aren't a blindfold, the keys were never just music— they were my heart. and you played it, like your fingers were bleeding, like love was something that had to hurt to be real. The heartstrings don’t just sing, they tear. and I know now— i loved you, i still do, but the only way to heal is to let you go. I will miss you in every silent room, in every song I cannot bear to hear, the ghost of a melody  that plays only in my mind,  in the spaces between heartbeats where your name still lingers.  And maybe time will soften the echoes, maybe one day the music will fade- but tonight,  It’s still playing.
