Studio 5 sem 1 2022 week 5/6:
My role and contribution to this project is the coding and app design aspect. For this I am learning how to use C# in order to write scripts within Unity to further develop our project with more ease, as well as in order to help create certain sections of the app. This semester I have started with the basics of C# in order to get a grasp on the concept of using this format of code before moving on to more advanced mechanics. My main source of learning is off of google and youtube. Due to the long duration of the video and amount of information to process I split the video up into focusing on one hour a day to help better process and refine what I am learning, as well as focus on my other assignments. I intend to also learn and bring in some UI/UX design.

Day 1: 1 hour and 7mins - Creating general shapes and User input
Day 2: 1 hour and 5 mins - Methods and If statements
Day 3: 1 hour and 9 mins - Loops and switch statements
Day 4: 1 hour and 11 mins - Classes and object methods
I already had a personal interest in coding, which is why I felt I would fit this role, as well as an interest in app design. This also correlates with my other paper Virtual and immersive environments, in which we use Unity to create a VR or AR experience. Unity relies on scripts written on C# which would benefit this project as a whole, allowing custom scripts to be written, which would allow more freedom to allow certain commands to be carried out in a specific way.
For my next direction I will be learning more advanced mechanics, more specifically tailored to our project, as well as utilizing what I have learnt from Space, Image and Sound paper. I will start focusing on various iterations of prototypes for the app design, then consulting the rest of the group for feedback on which direction to go and develop. This is due to the extensive amount of time it uses to create an app and going in the write direction from the start would be more beneficial. From my VR paper, I will also be developing an escape room with some changes and different elements which will help development of this project and see what more can be added from a mechanical viewpoint, whereas my other team members will be focusing on modelling, cultural aspects, etc.
