hearing his appreciation made david's chest fill with such satisfaction. he had no doubt gabe would have liked it. when he was picking the place for him, he made sure to choose the perfect one. something the boy never had the pleasure of even imagining. something that would match him even when he never knew such luxury. something that would fill his head with dreams and his heart with wanting more. he smiled, still, soft and enamoured, watching the wonder nestling in gabe's grin.

he was an old dog who knew many tricks, but one of the things david thought he couldn't quite feel anymore was that small, simple sentiment towards another. betrayed one too many times. a heart withered away by wisdom and experiences... david didn't know he could so easily feel so much for a stray he found in a beaten down school gym. and yet.

"I don't need space." his tone was severe but soft. to underline his words, he approached the boy, hand nestling under his chin, making him look up just to see if he would let him. "I've waited long enough for you to be here, and if I could..." he had to bite his tongue not to say the things he wanted to say, of all the unspeakable things he wanted to do to him. but, he was a gentleman above all, and he could control himself until they were free of the other business he promised him first. he was no savage. but, his strong self-control didn't mean his intentions weren't clear in his gaze.

he still let the other go, and while gabe was in the shower, to battle the need to strip and join him, david cruised across the room, watching gabe's belongings abandoned all around. he wanted to run his hands over them. he wanted to open his bags and rummage through his stuff just to find what he brought. to touch it. to smell it. to contaminate it with his own energy. but he didn't, all he did was to fold his hoodie and place his sunglasses neetly. then, he walked around the room, pretending to be more interested by the art on the walls or the handy appliences the hotel offered instead than thinking about soapy water on pale skin.

Then comes the most important decision. After drying off, cleaning up, and making sure he's covered on the antiperspirant front, he loosely wraps the towel about his waist and heads out to get dressed.

It's not like he brought clean clothes in with him anyway.

It's not like David hasn't seen all of him already.

It's not like he's expecting to make it very long without the exact kind of skin-on-skin he's been dreaming of.

Gabe does catch David's eyes using the reflection of the glass of a frame to watch him, though. When he does, he meets it right back, grinning toothily. And just like that, like nothing at all has happened, he's dressing efficiently and without any particular showy finesse. He knows what he's got going for him.

And, per usual, nearly everything in that bag is streetwear. He's not about to pretend to be something he's not just to nail something he knows he's already got locked down.

"Right, then." His full attention's back to David, who he's turned to face, damp towel balled in one hand. "Coffee before I crash. Then..." Well, he's not sure, truth be told! That's half the fun. As he heads back to the bathroom to hang up the towel, he pauses just long enough to brush his lips against David's cheek in a ghost of a kiss, a promise that he's going to gladly enjoy this time together and all of the pleasures it affords.

He stays on David's heel so easily it's almost like walking a well-trained pup. There's hope for him yet.

the list was long enough for david to assume it was an honest one. he looked concerned and scared enough david could smell it in the air, and at times, his voice got caught in his knotted throat. every time he struggled to say a name, he noted that it might be an important one. most, he knew he was gonna remember by heart, and still, he kept his bodycam pointed straight at the guy's face so that they could conduct an exhaustive research later.

when he was done, david's attention switched back to gabe. the dog was spacing, dead eyes pointed to the corner, pupils as thin as pins while he was lost in whatever loop his mind dragged him to. if they hadn't been on an active mission, david would have taken the time to calm him down or, at least, gave him a squeeze on the arm or shoulder, but he didn't now. he couldn't. he had no intention to expose his weakest side any more than he already was. so, he limited himself to recall the dog's attention until his focus was back.

then, his attention drew back to the man. he was a mess of sweat and nerves and tears and spit, and it made david's inside turn and twitch with an eager, twisted joy. similar to the satisfaction of attraction, but much darker and more corrupted. it tasted of the immense power david had not just over him, but over their entire world too. "see?" he started, perhaps savouring his own theatrics a little too much. he opened his arms, clearly pointing to the destruction that hit everything that guy built and he so easily snatched. "your greatest mistake was ever thinking your world wasn't mine to begin with. to think you could do whatever you wanted." he smiled, arrogant and power-drunk, enjoying being the villain and the liberator. "now, you won't stand to see it, but let's hope you told us everything we asked so nicely or I promise to you I will get my dogs to eat your children." he was smiling like a devil, pretty but not effecting his eyes, which remained frozen and unmoving, promising the terrible meaning of his words. he gave a second for his words to sink. there was a pause. he watched realisation hit the man and studied the way his eyes widened the second he realised david's words were a death sentence. his cooperation did not mean survival; in fact, they sealed his fate even more.

taking a step back, david snapped his fingers twice to get gabe's attention. the signal was clear: ready. another pause, he let both dog and victim linger, not paying attention to the man's pathetic pleas. no, his entire focus was solely directed on gabe's and the solemn way the dog reacted to him and his commands. and he deserved the treat.

"go." murder. easy words to open the doors to the greatest depths of cruelty and violence. nothing that wasn't deserved. nothing that david couldn't stomach. in fact, it was the opposite. he liked to watch it happen. he liked to see his dog transform into a beast and become the most dangerous. the wildest. the most precious. the one he'd burn the world for.

"Go."

And so he does.

The knee strike to the face is brutal and the man was unprepared. Teeth clack down hard on tongue. The tip isn't severed, but blood rolls from his mouth as he cries his shock out immediately after, hands rising towards his face. Gabe grabs him by the shoulders and flings him from the seat to the floor before crashing down one booted heel directly on ribs that cave a little, though don't crack. Again, again, and something DOES snap, and that's when he drops down, pinning his target like a lover might.

What follows might as well be sex. Slaps become strikes become a violent throttle. Thumbs gouge into eyes until bloody goop squirts out alongside them and screams become wails become wordless screeches.

And he's not done. He's not done because this, above all else, is what he was fucking promised.

So when he gets his fingers in the director's mouth, heedless of how the teeth bite into his tactical gloves already marred with gore, he pulls. And he pulls. And he PULLS until skin tears and ligaments give and the entire mandible rips free with the display of raw fury and an incredible body he's worked so very hard to hone.

With a silent laugh of despair he rests back on his heels, ass on the dying man's shins, and watches him burble and fade, jaw hanging to the rest of his face by shreds of flesh and sinew.

And, okay- maybe he HAS kept an eye on her career. But he's NOT about to admit that.

"One night with the War Dogs. Add THAT to your resume has to be a boost, right? Stops and ends at the club. Unless you're..." A handwave. "Dunno what you do with your free time. Maybe you're boring."
