Niragi had never been to a spa before, because he had never been interested in visiting one. He preferred an onsen far from the city or public baths, but only those that were less frequented.
For a few moments, the day goblin allowed his eyes to slowly wander around the room, to take his surroundings in properly. Such fancy places were nothing he was used to or wanted to be used to. It was the kind of place rich people went to if they wanted others to know they were rich. No, if it wasn't for a game he would never have set foot inside such a place.
As the militant saw the smaller male give him a nod, he gave him a light nod in return after considering ignoring it for a moment. It was smart from him to acknowledge they knew each other. There wasn't much point in hiding it when Niragi planned to keep an close eye on him. Plus, he somehow thought Chishiya would have disliked for him not acknowledging him in return.
The day goblin turned the blue light to the back, because it started to annoy him immediately. Then he let his gaze wander around the room, scanning the other players trapped with him. Too many nervous faces. Too many people were already looking around for someone to trust. Fucking idiots. They always did that first. Wanting to find someone to trust blindly in hopes they would do the thinking for them. And if they were really unlike they attached themselves to someone who would vote for them without a second thought.
And they were those fucking guys that tried to act all tough, because they decided to form a group together. If one was to discover their weakest link or their leader, they could use that to get to vote those out you wanted. And if they thought they could intimidate others, they would learn that he was the only one capable of doing that.
And then the unavoidable whispering started, and it almost drew a snort from Niragi. People were already trying to guess who looked guilty, who looked scared, who looked too calm. None of them understood that those things meant nothing. By just staring, you wouldn't be able to win the game. None of them had grasped fully what it meant. With the only exception being Chishiya. The words he whispered to him made it clear that he had caught on to the same thing.
The militant's eyes wandered toward him, lingering for only a second before an amused smirk tugged at one corner of his mouth. "Yeah," he muttered, loud enough for the blonde alone. "No shit! That's the only thing those idiots will refuse to realize," he said, his mocking tone letting the smaller male know that he had the same thoughts as he did. And he was sure there was a reason for that being part of the rules. Whoever was the game master behind this one wanted to fuck them over. But not day goblin, and somehow he was convinced Chishiya would get out too.
The game wanted chaos. Wanted manipulation. Someone had to convince another player to willingly put their own neck on the block. Nobody sane would do it without believing everyone else would follow through. Which meant lies. Promises. Intimidation. Fear. His smirk widened. It would be one of the more entertaining games for sure.
He then watched Chishiya walk away from the rest and, after waiting for a few moments, he followed after him at an unhurried pace, hands shoved into his pockets. "Hey cat," he called lazily once he was close enough for only the blonde to hear. "Don't wander too far." The tone of his voice made it clear that he would be willing to drag him with him if he had to. His lips formed another smirk that meant he was up to no good. "I would hate to miss it once you start playing detective."
Then he turned around the next corner, knowing the other would choose a different direction on purpose now. But for now, he didn't want to follow Chishiya around. He only wanted him to know he would keep an eye on him. He knew the smaller male had his own way of dealing with people and he wanted to witness it. At the same time, he didn't want to push him towards deciding he wanted everyone to vote for him first.
The next room Niragi entered had shelves filled with different kinds of food, which meant whoever had planned the game expected it to last a long time. He snorted and just grabbed a bottle of water before following two young-looking women simply to hear what they were talking about as they passed by the room he was in.
