In case you haven’t heard the news yet, somehow the Portuguese (Brazilian) dub of The Amazing Digital Circus Ep. 9 got leaked and key scenes including the ending are being circulated around various social media platforms.

Please please PLEASE mute as many tags as you can to avoid spoilers while browsing any social media platform, including and ESPECIALLY Tumblr and Twitter. Ultimately, a lot of us may have to abandon doomscrolling earlier than anticipated.

TSAMS fans lack media literacy, especially when it comes to a ship or character they dislike. It doesn’t take a literary genius to realize that Nexus really only ever called people by familial terms because that’s ALL HE KNEW to connect people by. It only takes looking ever so slightly between the lines to see that Nexus was told from the moment he opened his eyes that the only people he was allowed to care about or that mattered to him were his family. Therefore, if someone mattered to him, he would immediately refer to them as a family member, because he would have felt that he couldn’t investigate any other sort of relationship due to the role forced onto him. To say anything else would be to admit you know NOTHING about Nexus’ character or his lore, and in response to this I say that you really don’t have a right to discredit and hate on a character or a ship if you DON’T FUCKING KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. There’s also a screenshot of Ken, someone on the TSAMS team, in which they literally say this. 

Think about it. Nexus and Solar have had interactions before that seemed quite a bit more than just ‘brotherly’. If they truly thought of eachother as brothers they would NOT have interacted in the way that they did in the slightest. Comparing the two’s dynamic to other dynamics like Sun and Moon’s or Earth and Lunar’s? A totally different type of duo, if you know what I mean. You see, Solar never explicitly called Nexus ‘brother’—if you can prove this wrong, feel free to correct me—and if you actually listened to the tone of Nexu’s voice (after he turns quote unquote ‘evil’) when he says “brother” to Solar, it seems… sarcastic, almost. Like he’s mocking the very idea of it. BECAUSE HE’S NOT REQUIRED TO STICK TO THAT FAMILY-CENTRIC ROLE ANYMORE. But you know, TSAMS fans don’t actually pay attention to the characters if they don’t like them. 

Another argument I commonly see is “Well the VAs haven’t said it's okay—” They haven’t said it’s NOT, either! They hardly pay attention to the old lore anymore, which would explain why they’re so annoyingly wishi-washi on it. There’s literally SCREENSHOTS of Redd, Nexus’ VA, saying they are not brothers, and Solar even said in an episode that he didn’t think of Nexus as a brother. Ever. I swear some people just IGNORE all of this because they don’t like the ship. There’s infinite evidence that it’s not incest. 

My god, you don’t have to like the fucking ship! Just don’t go around calling people “proshippers” or “incest lovers” because you can’t be FUCKED to do even an ounce of research or look past what’s explicitly said on screen before you blast people online! The entire point of media like this is that it CAN be interpreted or seen in different ways unless SPECIFICALLY told otherwise—WHICH HASN’T HAPPENED.
