I've always had a journal to write my thoughts in, my problem was writing in it regularly. I'd write a few days and then my next journal entry would be months from my last entry. The beginning of October 2016 I challenged myself to write 4 times a week, I did it for a month, then two months, then 3 months and now it's become a habit for me and something I look forward to doing. The end of February I finished a whole journal, the first time I have done that. I have journals lying around that are partially written in but not one that has every page written on, well now I do. It felt really good, I had no idea what to do with it so I put it in a fireproof lockbox under the bed for safe keeping. So March 1st I started a new journal (a 250 page Moleskin journal) I've challenged myself again to up my journal game by writing more each day, not just a couple sentences. So far I'm getting at least a page, I'm on page 16 on the 8th of March...so far so good. One thing I've noticed with my journal entries is that writing my thoughts and ideas down helps me mentally feel good about myself. For me writing something down feels better then typing something on my phone and posting it on the internet. I guess I feel I worked harder to express my thoughts because it's written down. I'm not able to delete something once I've written it down and I don't have auto correct to help me spell correctly. Everything can be seen. What will I do with my journals? No idea, I'll keep them around. Every now and then I go through some of the partial journals and read them, remanence about the past and think back to those moments. I wonder if anyone who finds them after I'm gone will read them? What will they think of them. For me it's cheap therapy to write down my thoughts, feelings and ideas. So I guess I'll keep on writing.
