Dick Grayson angst please

i like fanworks where dick is closer with the batsiblings than he is in canon but like generally speaking he's really busy and self-isolating and they have to break into his apartment or call him for backup to see him. like in post-crisis canon. even timmy who is his little purse dog doesn't spend half as much time with dick as you'd expect. the titans barely see him unless they're backing each other up or are on a team together at the moment which is half of why they keep manically reforming the team every three years (so they can actually hang out). post-crisis dick is not the person keeping the bats together (that's tim) or scheduling family hangouts (that's not really any of them on any kind of regular basis) he's spending 18 hours a day minimum working and nightwinging and somehow squeezing even more time out of the day to fix his neighbor's water heater and do six other good deeds and then he's getting shot again

It's really interesting how often when Barry expresses feeling redundant or unneeded Wally's go to response is "I need you though" and when Barry is upset about all that he's lost Wally's response is "you have me". I need you, you have me, don't die (leave me) again.

not enough will ever be done with the fact that barry and wally exist in the same time in the same role in the same mantle...if i had it my way those bitches would be living out of each other's pockets. beautiful wonderful world of them both showing up randomly in each other's comics to hang out in the kitchen and steal food from the fridge or talk about their day or surreptitiously pretend they're not both equally delighted and astonished that the other is even alive. Honestly I love how The Batman doesn’t try to be, like, a “fresh new take” on the Batman mythos; it just does Batman as hard as possible. They Batmanned the absolute fuck out of every scene and that’s it. Pure distilled 100% grade A Batman.

When the heroes/vigilantes wonder why only his name stayed in his memory, they theorize that it's about some fae rules of how he never gave his name to Phantom, and that's something the entity can't take away.
