Hi everybody! THANK YOU for the MASSIVE amount of interest in the Hansry Fluff Zine. Due to this, over the past few days, our Moderators team has brainstormed some changes to give everyone a chance to participate.
Moderator Applications are being reopened! Stay tuned for Moderator Spotlights for our pre-existing Moderators, and a separate post with a link to the application! The amount of Moderators on board greatly affects our timeline for behind-the-scenes work, which you can read more about below.
All Contributor applicants will soon be DMed a link to a survey to give their thoughts on things. Once all applicants have been DMed, we will make a post letting you know that you have one week to respond! After your responses, Discord invites will finally be sent out!
The team would like to clarify that the Hansry Fluff Zine will NOT be as intensive as many other zines out there. The goal of this zine is to be similar to a club to make friends, and to enjoy creating cool art together. Therefore, the zine will NOT be as polished or as highly professional. This is a laid-back, low-stakes environment! Not everyone who applied may want to be associated with this concept, which is totally understandable. There will be a space on the survey to choose to opt out.
We are splitting the Hansry Fluff Zine into TWO VOLUMES: Canon/Volume One and AU/Volume Two! Canon/Volume One will focus on fanworks centered around the events within KCD1 and KCD2. AU/Volume Two will contain fanworks focusing on major divergences from the games, such as fem!Hansry or Modern AUs. Work on AU/Volume Two will start AFTER Canon/Volume One is complete, in order to lighten the workload for Moderators, and to give Contributors more time to brainstorm. However, all Contributors will be invited into the Discord at the same time to start chatting and planning collaborations!
The proofreading phase of Canon/Volume One has been extended! After the final deadline for project submission has been reached, three more weeks of time are being added for Moderators to proofread and review final submissions, for a total of four weeks overall. This means that Canon/Volume One of the Hansry Fluff Zine will now release in mid-December! AU/Volume Two of the Hansry Fluff Zine will begin work in December, with a final deadline in April. (More information to come about AU/Volume Two's timeline at a later date!)
Comic Artists will have a section to apply as such on the survey! If Visual Art applicants would like to choose Comic Art as your second choice, or are still A-OK with your previously selected roles, there are buttons for this, too! Comic Art applicants: please sure to have a couple examples of completed comic pages!
The word count limit for Writing has been shortened to 5,000 words! This is to balance the page ratio of Writing to Visual Art, and to lighten the workload for Writing Moderators. If this limit does not work for Writing applicants, there is an option to say so on the survey.
As the Head Mod of the Hansry Fluff Zine, I (@sourdough-of-skalitz), REALLY appreciate everyone's patience in this time of growing pains for the zine. I know this was unexpected and more than a little confusing, and I seriously apologize deeply for the upheaval. A bit obsessed with the idea of Italian being Hansryโs secret langage as they ride around the Kuttenberg region, with Henry showing Hans around. At first, only Hans would say mostly sweet things in Italian to tease Henry who wouldnโt understand, until Henry would have enough and buy a book to learn the langage from a scribe. Then Hans would be offended and say that he can very well teach Henry himself, had he asked ! So he does and soon enough, theyโre exchanging simple sentences in Italian in front of good men and wives in the villages they pass by, throwing around words like caro or amore at each other while some peasant turning over his soil next to the road frowns at them in incomprehension. After all, they donโt need to be careful if theyโre using another langage.
And since theyโre both so smart and stupid, at some point theyโd stop at an inn and Hans would bring their stuff to their room while Henry pays, smirking and exchanging a "Ciao, tesoro !". Right before the innkeeper, an actually well traveled man who settled down in this fine village, stares at Henry and asks "You two speak Italian ?"
โฆ and only then do they decide to be careful even with a different langage.
