Aka local immortal kicks out his wild monke son so he can keep up his low profile XD In all seriousness though, I enjoyed seeing how Wukong gained his magic, and his dynamic Subodhi! I'm only familiar with Wukong and Sanzang's relationship, so it was fascinating to watch Wukong interact with his first master and see how reverent he is of him, even when he's still a cheeky show-off hahaa

I also felt bad when Subodhi kicked Wukong out at the end, but at the same time, I get it XD Subodhi can sense the monke havoc on the horizon lololl

Long story short, wukong was trapped in a mountain (and in those 500 years he hadn't changed one bit, he got even worse.) and was freed by Tripitaka because WUKONG said he'll be Tripitaka's discipline (in which he lied to because he used it as an excuse to be free, because if you didn't know, he only agreed because he would have been freed NOT because he would actually become a Buddhist, which was part of the deal. You become Buddhist and help the monk, and you become free.)

The fillet itself was there because wukong was so uncontrollable, Tripitaka needed an help for it, aka: the fillet. (Harsh punishment, but again, needed.)

Wukong was so arrogant, so full of himself that he wouldn't even LISTEN to "a random mortal monk" and just killed everybody (which is not a thing a Buddhist should do), being gentle with him at the time would just lead to him laughing at your face.

As much as I love wukong, he had to understand.

You’re not wrong, Wukong is dangerous and unpredictable, he’s a god — a chaotic one.

Tripitaka is not, he’s just a monk not a god- I mean imagine being in his shoes and dealing with a mass murderer of destruction who wrongfully invaded Heaven and Hell and going so far to reform him into Buddhism.

I would be terrified as much as he is. I watched 3 movies of Monkey King, and I can say, he is patient and willing to try aside from SWK being annoying the entire time 😭✨

The Fillet is harsh but necessary, teaches SWK what is right and what is wrong and this isn’t even Tripitaka’a doing at all.

HOWEVER this doesn’t excuse Tripitaka having the right to punish SWK for trying to protect him demons. People tend to forget that Tripitaka was fooled into believing that the demons were humans and stayed as humans when they died and those demons escaped to who knows where making it harder for Monkey to prove it.

NOTE:

Only SWK sees Triptiaka as the villain at first when he had gotten the fillet. But overtime, their relationship changes.

In my personal view, I seen Tripitaka as scared but nervous man giving this stone monkey demon a chance to help deliver the scriptures to the West.

Honestly I love how they get sassy towards each-other and putting up with tolerance.

They gotta stop trying to please everyone in the fandom, because it'll turn into a mess. The story itself in lmk is already messy and hard to understand for someone who knows jttw, imagine for the ones who DON'T.

But I don't ask it to be super canon to the book, just, less trying to please the audience? It's way too confusing for me lmk at the point, the only canon thing in there I can probably see is wukong under the mountain and the fillet, but that's it, we don't know how the journey went, the characters, but even if so I doubt they would keep the original ones, and all.

ao3 was created because its creators got tired of censorship, they got tired of dark and taboo fics getting banned on pro-censorship platforms, and they wanted a place that was safe for ALL FICS THAT WERE DARK AND TABOO.

ao3’s main principle is being against censorship and being proship / profic.

there are some things in fiction that make me uncomfortable, but instead of shaming people who are just minding their own business and not harming anyone in real life, I choose to curate my own internet experience by blocking/muting what I don’t want to see. ao3 has excellent tagging system, so instead of being a bitch, use their tagging system properly and you won’t see the things you don’t want to see.

it’s your job to curate what you see. it’s not other people’s jobs or responsibilities to censor themselves for your personal comfort. the world does not revolve around you.

also you cannot censor “only the things you personally hate” without expecting everything else, that isn’t of conservative beliefs, to be censored too. because censorship is a slippery slope and a fascist tool. I promise you there are people who think “why do tags for queer love even exist on ao3? they’re grooming children”.

if you allow the things that you hate to be censored — because someone with enough power gets to control what other people can and cannot create/consume, it will not stop at the things that you hate.

Now they're saying that they should hold writers like that accountable because of what they write? Saying the "Don't like, don't read" term is just an excuse that they like writing a certain topic most people won't like.

Or when writing/reading it as a coping mech is problematic because "Why would you read/write something that includes a topic like that?" Or "Fiction does affect reality, look at the lolicons!"

I don't go into deeply with whatever fantasy other people have, I'm just on the surface level but wow, writing x reader fics or any form of fanfic both has it's own set of sides with puritans, normies, and freakies going on and off the borders (except most writers do tag them properly), I'm sorry if you get confused about how I wrote this out I don't get it either I'm just feeling torn out

I believe I’ve talked about this more than 100 times now. so I’m not gonna type another long essay on this because I’ve already said everything I wanted to say on this exact topic so many times on this blog in the past, and at this point I’m just repeating the same thing I’ve said time and time again.

but to sum it up without yet another long essay on the same topic, thought crimes are not real. you (general you) cannot hold anyone “accountable” for having dark fantasies and harming fictional characters. we are playing with our imaginary barbie dolls in our imaginary sandboxes here. we can decapitate our barbie dolls if we want because barbie dolls have no life or feelings.

so what these people on tiktok are saying is: “yes, let’s harass real people who harm their barbie dolls. we must hold them accountable because we’re the morally superior ones”. it is that crazy and stupid.

also here’s my response to the “fiction can affect reality” mindset puritans seem to hold, quote:

some victims and survivors use dark fiction to cope and heal from their trauma, because in their fics, they are in control of what happens. they can turn the table and turn what happens into something that’s not traumatizing. and they can do that because they don’t owe you anything.

it’s a kink to some people, even though they were never victims. people can enjoy it and find it hot because at the end of the day it’s just a fantasy. it’s not real. they don’t owe you anything.

it’s cathartic and/or therapeutic to some to see their favorite fictional characters suffer. that’s why whump is such a popular trope; people love putting their fictional little guys through hell. non-con is a part of whump. and these people don’t owe you anything.

fanfic writers can write whatever they want, however they want. they don’t owe you anything.
