"White is the loneliest color." So much truth in such few words. I grew up thinking so many things were black and white. White being all the good things we should do, be, or aspire to. As I went through a rough two years discovering myself post college, I finally understood that white is synonymous with loneliness. A blank page, a blank slate, no memory, no pain. Truth is, I want to be stained. I want to be flawed and to experience life for all of the highs and lows it has to offer. Give me every color and hue in between. The moment I realized this, I was able to stop bringing myself down and embrace all of the things I had been through because all those colors make me who I am today. This acceptance is how I took the leap towards a new career path, pursuing the man of my dreams, and putting together a collection of writing that is so tender and raw, but real. I refuse to be lonely anymore. Long story short, I'll never aspire to emptiness again. That's why I've engraved "White is the loneliest color" onto this @crosspens pen to remind me all of the colors that are out there for me to seize and experience as I will. #writegift #longstoryshort #ad

They say it's always darkest before dawn, but what's the use in waiting for the sun to rise? I'm chasing the sun to find my own happy ever after. If someone says they love you, they will support you through thick and thin. Blood is supposedly thicker than water but my blood has run dry. The people who were my heroes are now the villains of every story I've tried to write and now I'll write them off. Goodbye and goodnight. They'll remain in the shadows as I write my paradise.

You know that feeling when you thought you'd never feel your heart beat fast again or ever lose your breath in the presence of someone so incredible, but then it all comes back to you in an instant with this one person. This one person who makes you forget how people can be so cruel sometimes bc when you're with them you're not comparing. You're just soaking in their company and their existence is enough. Sorry for the long caption but this is the first of my writing posts pls be kind + share if you know someone who can relate. For those of you who are curious I'm taking my Vietnamese name "Nhi" as my writing alias. Why? My grandmother was a poet, songwriter, and dreamer. So when I think of words as art and of everything that makes my heart flutter I think of her. This is me paying homage to my roots as a Vietnamese American writer.
