Snowballinâ
Tamworth, NSW
I am absolutely in love with the ocean. So much so, that I don't like being too far from it. But, I did make an exception for a very special place called Tamworth. It was the only place I visited that was that far out from the coast. It was about a 3 hour drive away from Newcastle, but it literally felt like a world away at times. The mountains, the quiet, the chilly nights -- it was different than the city life that I've grown up in but it was beyond beautiful.Â
I'm not much of a mountaineer but I always try to do something different wherever I end up. So this time, I conquered a 6km hike to the top of Flag Staff Mountain just in time to watch the sun go down!Â
Although traveling around was fun. Staying at the Geddes' was just as adventurous. Trevor's onesie birthday party at the Geddes' house!Â
The Geddes' would spoil me with amazing breakfast every morning that came with my own little name on it.Â
My first and only attempt at Two-Up. It's basically heads-or-tails betting game that is only legal to play during Anzac Day. I won about 60AUD then lost it all again before I decided it was best for me to just watch. Haha!Â
I was finally able to get that 3rd piercing that I've always wanted! It was spontaneous and scary, but I am so ready to get a 4th and 5th one!!
Tamworth was like my home away from Newcastle. Until this very day, I am so grateful and thankful to the Geddes family for opening their hearts and their home to a little Asian outsider like me. Every time I went over, I always felt like I was home. I'm really not much of a country kid, but this place really did charm it's way to my heart. :)Â

Newcastle City
This is the place I called 'home' for the 5 months I stayed in Australia. Two hours out of Sydney but 5 seconds in and it's got a permanent place in your heart.Â
I thought that I'd start my JTA photo review by showing you my favorite place. This city is home to 9 beaches, which is obviously one of the main reasons I loved it so much. This first photo set is mostly scenery but this won't be the last Newcastle post.Â
Stay tuned!Â
I have got to be one of the most inconsistent bloggers ever, I know.
But fear not!Â
For once again, I try my hand at being consistent in updating this little website. So, I figured I would start with the end, and eventually work my way back to the start. I plan to do an entry for every travel destination on my trip!Â
In lieu of that, this video is a compilation of all the little clippings I took while I was on my Junior Term Abroad. It basically sums up my entire 5 months in the land down under and ultimately marked the end of my adventure. Enjoy!Â

In the Land of Oz.
Hello lovlies!Â
So for the past few months, I have been working hard academically and prepping all the different kinds of paper work to be able to join this program at my university called Junior Term Abroad, also known as JTA. It's basically studying abroad as an exchange student for one semester. Being accepted into the program was one thing, making sure you actually get to study abroad is another. Pre-JTA sem was crazy. We had to come to compress 5 month classes into 3 months and sometimes even go to school when it was a holiday. But by God's grace, we all pulled through! So after months of waiting and preparing, it was off to the land down under!Â
8 hours later, we finally landed!
Airplane outfit:
For a long flight I just had to be comfy.Â
Lettered polo from H&M || Zara Basics Jeans || Longchamp bag ||Â
First stop? Trash and Treasures flea market in Liverpool!
I love spotting little old things! Even back in Manila, I would go to thrift shops and old shops to look for the smallest things. But this was the very first official flea market I've been too. I absolutely loved it! :) My only regret was that I wish I had a little more money in my pocket to spend.Â
I'll be in Australia for the next 5 months on this crazy journey of living alone in an unknown country. Phew. Yep, I am crazy nervous and excited. I'll probably update this site with all the lovely phone photos I've taken along the way.
And the journey in the land of Oz begins!Â

Cheers to 2014!
Every year, my family and I make it a point to spend New Years out of town. Mainly because my parents aren't too fond of the pollution from all the city fireworks during this time of year. For 2014, we decided to go to Dos Palmas, Palawan. I'll probably post a bunch of photos I took while we were there in a few days. But first and foremost, my New Year's Eve outfit:Â
Rhipe Backyard mid-rib top || Borrowed mint asymmetrical sheer skirtÂ
The key to dressing up for a beach party is to wear something that is breezy and to go easy on the make up. Natural always looks best by the beach. Plus, choosing to wear a maxi skirt instead of a tight dress made the dancing around a whole lot easier! Heehee.Â
Beach photos to follow!Â
I hope you guys are enjoying your 2014 just as much as I am. :)

I was shooting a scene in my new film, No Strings Attached, in which I say to Natalie Portman, âIf you miss me ⌠you canât text, you canât e-mail, you canât post it on my wall. If you really miss me, you come and see me.â I began to think of all of the billions of intimate exchanges sent daily via fingers and screens, bouncing between satellites and servers. With all this texting, e-mailing, and social networking, I started wondering, are we all becoming so in touch with one another that we are in danger of losing touch? It used to be that boy met girl and they exchanged phone numbers. Anticipation built. They imagined the entire relationship before a call ever happened. The phone rang. Hearts pounded. âHello?â Followed by a conversation that lasted two hours but felt like two minutes and would be examined with friends for two weeks. If all went well, a date was arranged. That was then. Now we exchange numbers but text instead of calling because it mitigates the risks of early failure and eliminates those deafening moments of silence. Now anticipation builds. Bdoop. âIt was NICE meeting u.â Both sides overanalyze every word. We talk to a friend, an impromptu Cyrano: âHe wrote nice in all caps. What does that mean? What do I write back?â Then we write a response and delete it 10 times before sending a message that will appear to care, but not too much. If all goes well, a date will be arranged. Whether you like it or not, the digital age has produced a new format for modern romance, and natural selection may be favoring the quick-thumbed quip peddler over the confident, ice-breaking alpha male. Or maybe we are hiding behind the cloak of digital text and spell-check to present superior versions of ourselves while using these less intimate forms of communication to accelerate the courting process. So whatâs it really good for? There is some argument about who actually invented text messaging, but I think itâs safe to say it was a man. Multiple studies have shown that the average man uses about half as many words per day as women, thus text messaging. It eliminates hellos and goodbyes and cuts right to the chase. Now, if thatâs not male behavior, I donât know what is. Itâs also great for passing notes. There is something fun about sharing secrets with your date while in the company of others. Think of texting as a modern whisper in your loverâs ear. Sending sweet nothings on Twitter or Facebook is also fun. In some ways, itâs no different than sending flowers to the office: You are declaring your love for everyone to see. Who doesnât like to be publicly adored? Just remember that what you post is out there and thereâs some stuff you canât unsee. But the reality is that we communicate with every part of our being, and there are times when we must use it all. When someone needs us, he or she needs all of us. Thereâs no text that can replace a loving touch when someone we love is hurting. We havenât lost romance in the digital age, but we may be neglecting it. In doing so, antiquated art forms are taking on new importance. The power of a handwritten letter is greater than ever. Itâs personal and deliberate and means more than an e-mail or text ever will. It has a unique scent. It requires deciphering. But, most important, itâs flawed. There are errors in handwriting, punctuation, grammar, and spelling that show our vulnerability. And vulnerability is the essence of romance. Itâs the art of being uncalculated, the willingness to look foolish, the courage to say, âThis is me, and Iâm interested in you enough to show you my flaws with the hope that you may embrace me for all that I am but, more important, all that I am not.â

Shooting in Black
A few weeks back, I had the pleasure of being shot by the one and only Elisa Aquino of Very Truly Yours! She's an amazing photographer and an even better friend. She was patient enough to direct me even if I was extremely nervous. HAHA. Although I don't think I'll ever be fully qualified to become an editorial model, the photos came out way better than I expected!!Â
I am also happy to announce that Elisa is Sweet Escape Manila's latest photographer for it's second collection: Blacks, Whites and Metallics !Â
With a baby face like mine, I was surprised that Elisa could work such editorial magic. Heehee!Â
Thank you so much for being patient in directing me and agreeing to shoot the photos for my online shop. Love you always, Elisa!Â
Please do check out Sweet Escape Manila's 2nd collection! You might spot the perfect Christmas gift for a friend! :) Love, Nicoliita
Wannabe Foodie: Poco Deli
Spontaneity brought us to roam around Kapitoloyo for lunch one saturday afternoon. An extremely high recommendation from a friend brought us to Poco Deli.
Disclaimer: I'm a food blogger, so don't expect too much detail.
I loved the cozy atmosphere. It's actually kind of funny how it took quite while before we got the actual theme of the restaurant. After looking through their menu and the flags hung up on the wall, we finally got that it was a Spanish-English fusion inspired deli. Like most delis, specializes in their variety of wines, cheeses and sausages but what makes Poco Deli different is that it's more than just a deli. They actually serve pastas, pizzas and platters.
Miko's Bacon and Egg platter (I loved that their bacon came in a slab instead of normal strips)Â
 Truffle Oil Pasta
 Blackout Chocolate CakeÂ
Homemade Stout Chocolate IcecreamÂ
I absolutely loved dining in this little deli. Everything we ordered was spot on: it tasted amazing and was cooked to perfection. Just blogging about it makes my mouth water.Â
Downside? It is a little pricy. For fellow students like me, it would be best to visit this place for a semi-splurge date day. But when you do decide to go, it will be worth it.
I highly recommend that you take the time to include on your next Kapitolyo food trip!
Love,Â
Nicoliita

Sneak peak!Â
Photo by the beautiful Elisa Aquino.
What is real? âReal isnât how you are made,â said the Skin Horse. âItâs a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.â 'Does it hurt?' asked the Rabbit. 'Sometimes,' said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. 'When you are Real you don't mind being hurt.' 'Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,' he asked, 'or bit by bit?' 'It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand. But once you are Real you cant become unreal again. It lasts for always.â
