An old karaoke place. Used to let you go after hours. Didn’t frequent it much, but liked it. Burned out. Don’t know if it went out of business before that, or the fire caused the closure. Sat for a while. Doing nothing. Serving nobody. Who knows what’ll be put in its place. Another target? Luxury condos with a BCBGMAXAZRIA on the ground floor? There’s a hot chicken place two doors down so that’s unlikely. Maybe somebody will get finally get their dream business off the ground and find a niche and make their dent in Los Angeles. Maybe they struggle for six months before finding a lock on the door, turning their palms up to the sky and saying “at least we gave it a shot” before looking at a fog of financial ruin that will hang over their lives, and their children’s lives. I wish I had gotten to this place with my 35mm. I kept putting it off, waiting for a new lens to come in. They had put off tearing it down so I felt I could put it off. Oh well.
