I love the lighting change. A crisp peaceful blue (despite the Eggman shenanigans) to an eerie otherworldly purple as the monster portal opens up.

Addressing the biggest "issue" with most Godzilla stories, which is the unfathomable amount of collateral damage. We'll just pretend the top floor of that building that just got a buzz cut was unoccupied lol.

Nick maybe didn't play Sonic Frontiers to know that Eggmans self mic device works TNG style where he just presses one of his chest buttons to start recording?

I'm being deliberately uncharitable for the same of comedy. I'm sure they drew him talking into a mic because it's more comprehensible visual shorthand for what he's doing, so it doesn't seem like he's just talking out loud to himself with no other context. Plus, one could argue the Egg Mobile's built in mic recording provides clearer audio filtering, considering all the noise that's happening around him during these pages.

Anyway, I love the idea of Eggy using a chest recorder but what I was really going for in this scene was what we used to use back in the day...

Seeing Sonic going out of his way to save civvies is just so nice to see. It's one of my favorite parts in Blade of Courage too. It reminds me of this gif I love so much from DBZ movie seven.

Naw, she's just gotta sing to her. Might help if she had a twin though. Might be a tall order to fill but trust me it'll work.

Godzilla hasn't made his entrance yet, but Mothra's spotlight and Eggman being absolutely enamored with Mechagodzilla more than make up for it. Sonic jumping onto MG and running around looking for a week point as he and Mothra were still fighting was a neat moment.

Mothra's portrayal was the best I've seen in years. It fully acknowledges that while she isn't malicious, she's still a kaiju and her very presence is a threat to both civilians and infrastructure. She will not hesitate for a second to put the enemy out of commission regardless of collateral damage.

Designs are clearly based off of the Heisei era, with some liberties taken.

No major character moments for the Sonic side of the cast aside from Eggman fawning over MG and already scheming to steal and upgrade him as he's mid rampage, and Amy getting a gut feeling that Mothra isn't an aggressor. But there's plenty of room for that in the following issues.
