Thirdly. so i actually scored a job offer from a place that i think i’ll like. and today i went to give my notice to my boss. which sucked bc i really love her and feel like im screwing her over by leaving (which tbh i kinda am) but she took it really well. so she had my email my notice over so that she could send it to HR. obvi standard procedure. but then 20 minutes later our fucking hr lady shows up at our building (her office is like 3 streets away) and pulls me from my desk to go to a private room. then im immediately hit with a “what will it take to get you to stay” which was seriously so unexpected. like i know that i’m very good at my job and also really get along w everyone here (besides fucking Marlene) (her real name IDC!!!) but HR even hit me with the “our ceo told me personally that he really likes you.” which to be fair is not crazy bc our corporation is only like 250 people and ive met him a bunch. but still. i was very flattered. and also like…. so how much does he like me? like the fiscal value specifically. so i asked her that. and i also said that i would need a way to never work with fucking marlene again. so she, my manager, and their boss (idfk his job title. some guy named jeff who wears golf shirts every day) are meeting w me on tuesday to renegotiate my terms and see if they can convince me to stay. which to be totally honest will not be hard if they can figure out a way for my path to never cross w marlene’s again bc i really do hate her and she’s 99% of the reason why i put in my notice. but it would be cool to get more money too
