gritty has done more for this league than wayne gretzky, auston matthews and sidney crosby combined. he deserves to be on the cover of NHL 20.
Every time Jamie “cow eyes unicorn tap-job not a tree” Benn listens to music on Spotify, I love him just a bit more.

Anything For You
You had met him at a party, he had been your partner to play beer pong, and surprisingly the two of you were terrible. By the time the game ended Josh was completely drunk and you were too.
If you learned anything that night, it was that Josh was flirtatious and the drunken Josh was even more so. The night was all about him flirting with you and trying to take you to bed.
It wasn't something you used to do, but your head was spinning and your drunken brain only saw his perfect smile, his beautiful eyes and how incredibly attractive he was.
So yes. You ended up in Josh's bed. And not just once.
One night stand it became many more. They were calls from Josh in the middle of the night or after a game. Suddenly you accompanied him with lunches and some parties.
And everything was wonderful. Beside him life was happier, more colorful. Until it wasn't anymore.
Everything was perfect until he made it clear that you were not the only one and that he did not intend for you to be. Until you found out that there were more girls and that you were one more name in his endless list. Until you knew that your cell phone number was not the only one he called. But by the time you knew it you had already fallen.
You had convinced yourself that you could handle the situation with Josh. You knew that he was using you and you were going to do the same, or you thought. But everything was a lie. And suddenly there was nothing left of the strong woman you used to be. And you just could not leave, so you had accepted the crumbs he was willing to give you.
You always saw pictures of him with other girls and it just ended up leaving you more broken. Someone else's clothes in his apartment made you feel sick. The messages of other girls on his phone while you were with him made you feel like an object.
And god, you wanted to leave him. But you couldn't. All your friends begged you not to answer their calls, not to see him anymore.
Until it was enough.
"You can't fucking do this," he complained.
You just looked through the window of the little cafeteria, you saw the cars go by and the people walking on the sidewalk.
"This is... God... It's stupid!" he ran a hand through his hair. "At least you're listening to a damn word I'm saying?".
"What is the point?"
"What is the point?!" he repeated annoyed. "I'm trying to save this, what we have"
"We have nothing, there was never anything real between us."
Those words burned in your mouth. But it was a truth that you had to accept.
"How can you say that, babe? I love you".
And that was like a slap. You felt your blood boiling and you just wanted to hit him until there was nothing left of him.
He was so desperate. So desperate to keep you. He did not want to remove your name from the long list of girls he had on quick call.
"You don't love anyone. And definitely you don't love me! Not me. You love the way I made you feel. Like you were the centre of my world, because you were. I would done everything for you, Josh" you took a breath. "Anything, and you just didn't care at all".
"Babe, I'm sorry. I promise you..."
"Stop it... just stop with all this. I don't want your apologies, I don't want anything from you. I'm tired of this. I'm tired of trying to change you. I'm so fucking tired of not loving myself first".
"I didn't know you felt that way".
"Of course you didn't. You only care about yourself. I spent so much time asking me what exactly was so wrong with me, that made me so unlovable".
"There is nothing wrong with you" Josh said.
"No, of course not. But you made me believe that there was something so bad about me that it made me feel that it was not enough for you or for anyone. I don't want your excuses or apologies. I just want you to leave me alone. I want to be happy again, and with you.. with you that's never an option "you got up and left him.

A Little Lost
Author's note: English is not my first language, sorry for the mistakes. You can send requests.
Requested: Yes. I hope you like it. I did my best c:
If there was anything worse than being the daughter of the 'great coach Quinn' it was having to accompany him to countless events and games.
You were supposed to be sitting that day where your father had left you, it was supposed. In your defense he could not believe that you would actually sit and be bored for hours just because he asked you to. So you had started walking from one place to another and now you did not even know where you were.
"You seem lost," said a boy with an attractive accent.
"I'm not," you said, trying to sound very sure of yourself.
He shrugged and put his hands in the pockets of his suit. He looked at you for a second with a bright smile.
"I don't know, you've been through this hall seven times, and your face seems to be of a person who is indeed lost".
"Maybe I've been through this hall seven times because I like it," you said in a firm voice. "It's the most beautiful hall I've seen in my entire life".
"Really, why? What makes this hall so special?"
You wanted to hit him in the face and at the same time look at him all day. He was handsome, and his accent made your knees tremble.
And ff course you were lost! You didn't know where the hell you were. And your pride did not allow you to tell that idiot (undoubtedly handsome) that you needed help to return to where your father had left you.
"The lighting is exquisite" you said in your most elegant and false voice. "And the color palette is perfect it feels very homelike, no doubt we have to congratulate the interior decorator".
He laughed out loud. And god, it was so beautiful.
"I think you're the only person in this whole building who comes to see the decoration".
"What can I say? I'm unique" you said with your brightest smile.
"I'm sure you are," he said in a serious voice, and god, you wanted to die right there.
"We've talked enough about me, what about you?" you asked with a confidence that surprised you.
"About me? What do you want to know?"
"Well, I've been here seven times because I like decoration, what about you, why do you count the times a girl goes through here?"
His confidence faded for a moment and came back stronger than ever.
"Don't get me wrong, the decor is nice but I'm admiring something more beautiful," he said in a warm voice. God. You just took a big breath and wished that your cheeks were not completely red.
"Are you flirting with me?" you asked pretending to be annoying.
"I do not know, is it working?"
"If you want to get my number you will have to do something much better than that, just saying".
"Maybe it's time to introduce myself, I'm ..."
"There you are, little one, I've been looking for you for hours." Chris took you by the arm "your father went crazy when he did not find you at the table, everyone is looking for you".
"Hey, Kreids," you said a little embarrassed.
And that's when he realized he had interrupted something.
"I'm sorry," he said in a hasty voice, "it's time to say goodbye. Goodbye, goodbye. Done. Let's go, honey".
You were angry. God. You were furious. You decided to simply go straight to the hotel, you did not need to spend all day in that place watching the rookies being picked one by one.
You get over it, eventually. Chris apologized a thousand times for what happened. It had been horrible to ruin your chance with a boy who seemed genuinely interested in you. Probably you would never see it again, so it was best to move on. You had used the excuse of being angry not to attend the terribly boring hockey games and events. But unfortunately that came to an end.
You were in the rink, watching the boring practice of hockey. And that's when you saw him in the middle of all those players. And he saw you.
The practice seemed horribly endless to you. And he did not seem any less anxious for everything to come to an end. And finally it was over and everyone was heading to the locker room.
He approached where you were with a huge smile.
"I thought I would never see you again"
"Excuse me, do I know you?" you asked pretending confusion.
"Oh, my fault" he said extending his hand and took it "The creepy guy who tried to flirt with you a few months ago" .
"Sure, I'm the girl who was definitely not lost".
"Of course," he said sarcastically. "I'm Kaapo"
It was nice to put a name to that face after so long. In return you gave him your name.
"It's a beautiful name," he said in a velvet voice.
"Are you going to ask for my number or are you just going to be staring at me all day?"
"I think I prefer to ask you for a date".
"I think that's a good idea" you said "today at 8 o'clock?"
"It's perfect" he said with a huge smile.
When Kaapo entered the locker room all eyes were on him.
"What?"
"He's a dead man," muttered Brady.
"I think someone will have trouble dating the little daughter of the coach"
"What?!" he shouted, panicking.
Everyone laughed.
"Don't worry, your secret is safe with us," said Vessey.
Kaapo took a big breath. He supposed he would have more time to worry after the appointment with the girl of his dreams.

Do It All Again
Author's note: English is not my first language so... Sorry for the mistakes. You can send requests.
Nate was a good friend of yours. You were very close friends.
Many people thought that you would end up together, but the truth is that there was nothing but brotherly love among you.
Thanks to Nate you met Sidney. It was at one of his birthday parties.
A long storie that started with a small party. It was supposed to be a simple, just hanging out with a couple of friends at Nate's house.
Somehow many unknown people came to the little party. And then things got a little out of hand. The music was blaring. All the neighbors were nuts. Soon the house was full of drunken hockey players, girls dancing everywhere, a multitude inside and outside the house, and people in the pool.
It was overwhelming. I mean, it started incredibly well, but the noise and the people were too much. Nate was the best friend you could wish for but sometimes he was too crazy to deal with him.
You spent a few minutes looking at the photographs that hung on the walls of Nate's room.
And it was when it happened.
"I'm sorry, I thought there would not be anyone."
You looked back and you met him for the first time. He was standing in the doorway, hands in his pockets and he looked a little uncomfortable.
"I'll go" he said in a whisper.
"Oh no, you can stay," you said quickly. "There's a complete disaster down there, I'm sure you want to run away from all that."
"Uhm, thanks."
"Do not worry," you said with a small smile.
An awkward silence.
"I'm Sidney" he introduced himself.
"I know, I'm Nate's friend ..."
"I know" he said with a big smile "he talks about you all the time".
"I hope he only talks good things about me"
"Of course not, he only says terrible things!" he said sarcastically and you laughed.
"Oh, I'm sure of it!"
That's how it started. Two strangers with a friend in common joking and laughing from one moment to another.
It was very easy to talk to Sidney, it made you laugh out loud.
Time flew by him.
And suddenly you were going to all the Sydney games and you were as much friends with him as with Nathan.
And the friendship with Sidney had escalated to a platonic love that turned into a passionate romance. Nathan complained all the time and said it was unfair that his two best friends had a relationship and that they left him aside.
Sometimes it was too complicated to be with him. Being under the public eye was terribly complicated. But you loved him more than anything in the world, and he loved you.
A year after the famous and crazy party you could look back and be sure you would do it all over again.

Blind Date
Part 1
Katie wasn't one of your best friends. In fact sometimes you doubted the "friendship" that you had. It was all about favors between the two, and it worked quite well for you two. There were no complaints about it.
You helped her with her work, gave her advices. She invited you to parties and hockey games. You did not talk about very personal things, your conversations were superficial and unimportant. You did not feel much confidence with Kate, you would not go to her for life or death advice, or go with her when your life was bad. But your friendship worked for both.
Thanks to her you knew wonderful people. One of those people was Jamie. He was one of the people you frequented the most, and he was also Katie's boyfriend, or well, now he was her ex-boyfriend.
You felt bad for talking to Jamie. After all, Katie was supposed to be your friend, and the girls code made it very clear that ex-boyfriends were a forbidden field. You were not supposed to go to parties with Jamie, to events, go to his games or just talk to him. You felt you betrayed Katie, so you kept that part of your life hidden from her.
The break between them hadn't gone well. They definitely hadn't ended their relationship in a peaceful way.
Jamie was the most angry of the two. He felt betrayed and hurt. But Katie had a good point, she didn't need someone to stop her, she needed to be free and try to grow professionally, and a relationship with someone like Jamie left her trapped in Dallas. So they ended a long relationship.
You were worried about Jamie. You knew how much Katie means to him, and how to lose her was so painful. You had already been in this kind of relationship, you always played the same role as Jamie's, you were always the person who gave everything and received nothing, and the one who suffered the most at the end.
You understood how difficult it was for him, but it was time for him to move on. And you were willing to help him.
"I don't know," he murmured, staring at the TV.
"What do you mean with that?"
"I don't want a blind date, in fact, I don't want a date at all," he said, looking at you, "it's annoying, just stop doing it, please."
"I'm helping you to move on, I know that yours and Katie's did not work, but ..."
"I got over it a long time ago, okay? I just do not want a date" Jamie sighed. "The guys are already trying to get me a date, especially Tyler, I don't want you to join the team 'Let's get a girl for Jamie', it's annoying."
"You can't stay single forever".
"I don't want to be single forever, I'm just waiting for the right girl".
"Oh, yeah? tell me about it, maybe I have a friend that fits your list of the ideal girl".
Jamie rolled his eyes. "You're making fun of me," he complained.
"I'm not, I'm serious, I'm really interested in knowing what your type of girl is".
Jamie looked into her eyes longer than necessary, or so it seemed to her.
"Everything is on that list," you told Tyler. "Your ideal girl"
Tyler took the sheet and read line after line.
"It's more complicated than it looks," you murmured. "Jamie is very specific with what he wants, too much."
A wicked smile appeared on Tyler's lips.
"Do you know someone?" you asked surprised.
"I think, my dear friend, that Jamie has a date for tonight".
needed the second one by itself.. obviously
I loves this dork

Just Friends
[Part one] Part two
Author's note: Sorry for the mistakes, english isn't my first language. You can send me request c:
The days went by with Chris trying to contact you, but you ignored all his calls and messages. And then, one day he just disappeared. And you were glad of it.
Chris had been your best friend for years. You had shared unforgettable moments. Losing him was painful, but necessary for you. It was hard to get home from work and find yourself alone. It was painful not to have a friend to talk to. But that was the best. It was. Or at least that you wanted to believe.
You spent most of your free time watching stupid television shows and feeling sorry for you. You were not at your best moment. But you would get over it, eventually.
You took a breath and changed the channel. You did not want to keep watching the game. New York Rangers vs Pittsburgh Penguins. The game was amazing, but you couldn't keep seeing Chris.
If you wanted to forget him then you would have to cut all ties. And after a few weeks full of tears, regret and disappointment it was time to do it.
It was 11:47 p.m. and someone knocked on the door. You got up and went to the door and when you opened the door you lost your breath. It was Chris.
"What are you doing here? " you said. He should be celebrating with his team or at his house and not at your door. He seemed very worried.
"I'm so sorry," he said regretfully.
"Chris, I think it's best that we leave this in the past, you don't feel the same as me, and it's okay, I made the mistake of falling in love with my best friend, it's not your fault".
"But it is" he said.
He took a deep breath. Suddenly you felt so vulnerable, the way he looked at you left you breathless.
If there was one thing you was sure of, it was that Chris had to leave at that precise moment. You couldn't keep seeing him, you couldn't hear him. It just hurt too much.
And you didn't want to hear him. You did not want to hear him say that you should be friends, because you would agree. And you couldn't be friends with Chris, not when you loved him.
"All this was my fault, sweetheart" he said "God, I've been a complete stupid"
"You always have been," you said with a small smile.
"Just let me finish" he said laughing. "I ... These last weeks have been terrible, the worst weeks of my life, these days without you have been horrible, I've missed you so much".
Chris took a breath and leaned against the door frame.
"I've been stupid for not realizing that I love you" He laughed. "God, I love you" he looked you straight in the eyes "Please tell me it's not too late, tell me you still feel the same for me".
"I lost my best friend" you said "And I realized that I can live without you"
The hope in Chris's face vanished.
"I can live without you, but I do not want to, I love you, Chris" you laughed.
He smiled and in a second you were in his arms. You felt at home, you felt loved. You were in the right place.
"I love you, sweetheart," he said before joining the lips of both in the first kiss of many more.

The Only One
Author's note: English isn't my first language, sorry for any mistake. You can send request c:
You knew his past. A new girl every night. Alcohol, parties and girls. Only a fuckboy. A self-centered child. A fucking brat.
But he had convinced you that you were different from all the girls he had slept with. He swore that you were the best thing that had happened to him, that he had changed for you. That you were everything he could need in his life. He had convinced you that you were the only one. And he was right. You had been the only one. The only stupid one who had believed in him.
And now, you were sitting in the living room with the weight of the world on your shoulders.
Sad.
Broken.
Devastated.
Betrayed.
You just wanted to disappear. You didn't even have the strength to cry or to curse him.
He had cheated on you. God. You didn't even know why it affected you so much, it was to be expected. Too predictable.
He would arrive soon from practice, you would talk to him and you would leave. That was the plan.
But the more you thought, te more you questioned if that was the best. He had been an asshole with you, and being a bitch was fair. You only had to leave, without saying anything to him, without giving him the opportunity to say something.
The door opened. Tyler had arrived home.
"Hi babe, what are you doing?" He said as if he wasn't sleeping with other women.
You did not say anything. You just looked at the ground, trying to find the strength to speak. To tell him that you already knew.
"How was your day?" He asked.
At that point you couldn't say that you hated him, because you didn't. You hated yourself for allowing yourself to love him, for believing in his empty promises, for believing that he would change. You hated yourself for having faith that he would change for you, for believing that love would be enough for your relationship to work.
It was obvious that he didn't love you, never did and never would.
You tried to forgive yourself. To forgive yourself for having believed. For trusting. For giving everything of you.
You tried to forgive yourself for giving your whole heart to a man who didn't give a shit.
It did not take him too long to notice your silent attitude and the suitcases by your side.
"You already know, don't you?"
"Did you think I was never going to find out? Did you really think I'd be so stupid to never notice?"
"I'm sorry".
"Really? Are you serious? Is that all you have to say? Just a 'I'm sorry.'" She felt her blood boil.
"It's not what you think ..."
"I don't want your pathetic excuses".
"You can not be thinking about leaving, right?"
"I'm not thinking of leaving, I already decided, I have nothing to stay for"
"Honey, it was a mistake, a terrible mistake, I was drunk and ..."
"You were drunk... let me guess, did you feel lonely?, did not all those girls mean anything? Just like me, you never cared. You only care about yourself".
"That's not true, honey, I love you, I care, please, I beg you, do not go," he said, kneeling in front of her. "Please, you can't just go, you can not just give up"
"Everything I thought we had or what we could have disappeared when you cheated me, don't try to make me feel guilty, because the fault is yours alone" she said raising her voice.
"We can try again" he took her hands "I love you, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I do not want to lose you for just a silly thing".
"You're incredible, Tyler" she was terribly humiliated "Is that for you? Just a silly thing? You betrayed me, I trusted you and you just ..." She shook her head. "I can not continue with this"
She took her bags and headed for the door. And before leaving, he looked at him one last time.
“The only thing I regret is wasting my life in someone like you.”
And she left, and he didn't follow her.

Just Friends
Part One [Part Two]
Author's note: English is not my first language so... Sorry for the mistakes.
Chris was telling her the same old story.
The same story where he knew another woman and tried to date her. And like always, it didn't work.
"I don't know... I guess I have bad luck" he said.
She had no right to be angry, but she was. She was so furious.
She was furious with Chris. He was always looking for love in the wrong places. She was furious about having to hear the same stories over and over again. And she was furious with herself for not having the courage to tell him what she really felt.
"I don't know why you thought it would work with Kate."
"She seemed to be a nice person," he defended.
Of course. The girls he dated always looked like nice people. And she was jealous, jealous that he always chose beautiful girls, tall blondes with perfect smiles. And she was far from perfect.
"You're an idiot," she murmured.
"You have something to tell me?"
"No, Chris, I have nothing to tell you."
"I don't know, you seem upset, did I do something to make you angry?"
"I'm sick of hearing you talk about other girls, okay? " she said raising her voice "I'm tired of this, Chris".
"I don't understand why it bothers you, we have always talked about everything, we are best friends and ..."
"That's the damn problem, Chris." She took a sip of her coffee, she didn't want to make a scene right there. "Maybe I do not want to be your friend anymore."
"What? God, what the hell are you talking about, sweetheart?"
Chris was scared and confused. You and he had been friends for many years. You were inseparable, more than best friends. And now... now you were there, telling him that you could not continue being his friend.
"I can't continue with this role of best friend, Chris, I love you".
Chris was paralyzed. And she was sure that at any moment she was going to cry.
"I love you, and not as friend" she said "and pretending that I'm just your friend is painful".
Chris was silent and without any expression on his face.
"Sweetheart, I..." he couldn't find the right words. "I..."
"You don't have to say something right now, Chris, I guess you need time to think about it and ..."
"I love you, sweetheart..." she held her breath. "I love you as a friend." She could swear to hear her heart breaking into a thousand pieces.
"I understand," she said and stood up. "This is my fault, isn't it?"
"We can still be friends, sweetheart," he said desperately.
"I don't think so, Chris," she said with deep sadness. "Goodbye" she kissed his cheek and left.

She Didn't Care
Author's note: English is not my first language, sorry for the mistakes.
Since she looked at him with her tattooed arms and long hair she knew he was a complete problem.
That boy with a killer smile and hypnotizing eyes, not to mention that wonderful arms, was everything she wanted far from her. He was handsome enough to be a total asshole.
She knew it. She knew that kind of man: the perfect smile, the killer look, the wonderful muscles, a deep voice, a manly scent. The perfect boy, at least physically. A wolf dressed as sheep.
He was the typical womanizer, the lover of alcohol and parties.
She had nothing against him, she hadn't even spoken to him even once. But there was something wrong with him.
It wasn't about the tattoos or the long hair or the careless style. No. There was something in his essence, in his way of walking, there was something that told her that this man was dangerous.
She knew that this boy would only bring problems. But at that moment she didn't care.
When she met his gaze through all the people in the club she didn't care at all.
When he walked towards her through the people on the dance floor she didn't care either.
When he was by her side and gave a bright smile to her she didn't care.
When he offered her a drink she didn't care at all.
When he invited her to dance she didn't care.
"What do you think of going to a more private place?" he whispered in her ear.
And in that moment, damn! She knew it was a bad idea, but she didn't care.
She was willing to pay the price for a night in that man's arms.
She didn't care, at least not that night.
Just a beautiful man
