rosie had already been turned away from several people before knocking on ethan’s door so when he hesitated, she fully expected him to deny the cat entrance as well. however, as the words continued to roll off of his tongue, her features lit up. “really?” the evident smile tugged onto her lips, “just kidding, i don’t need you to say yes twice– once was good enough for me.” she extended out her arms and basically shoved the cat onto him, “his name is winston, winny for short and he’s going to be your new best friend.”

‘the kind that ends with your face in my crotch?’ oli joked as he laughed, but also secretly hoped it would happen one day. he grins proudly at his masterpiece before nodding happily. ‘i’m so glad you like them. my favourite. you have beautiful hands. very big. you know what they say about big hands?’

“Always so blunt,” Ethan jokingly shook his head as if he was disapproving. An eyebrow raised at the comment, “That they’re too big for you,” He finished before giving his friend a sweet smile. 

‘oh my god, you suck. can you confirm that?’ ethan smiled down his hand holding ethan’s and really just wanted to thread their fingers together but instead he placed ethan’s hand on his thigh and leaned down to paint at it with multiple colours and razor sharp focus. after doing the one hand, he did the same with the other before looking up at him. ‘what d’you think?

“Depends on what kind of suck you’re talking about. But sucking as a person, I can certainly confirm that,” Ethan joked before he stuck out his tongue at his friend. A smile on his face as he looked at Oli focusing on his nails. When he was done he held both his hands up to get a good look, “Nicely painted, beautiful colours, ten out of then for sure.”

luke rolled his eyes at the person who had delivered sarcasm to his original statement. “ I guess I am one of the lucky ones. ” he shrugged. “ what are you working on? ”

“Seems like it,” The student shrugged too before he spoke about his project, “I need to make a web design. Not my favourite thing to do. I prefer other sorts of coding.” He sighed before he took his eyes off his project. “Up for something fun?” Ethan asked as he decided to take a break.

‘so, you’re confirming it?’ oli grinned, poking ethan’s arm with his now dry nail and takes his hand. ‘i have purple too. i could alternate too. or pink?’

“If it’s a secret then I can’t confirm it, Oli.” Ethan teased before softly nudging his friend. The computer science student easily let Oli take his hand. “Do whatever you think looks good on me.”

‘because i have a dreamy english accent and you secretly have a crush on me?’ oli grinned cheekily, winking at the other as he went on painting his nails, filling in the gaps of his black polish before blowing on them. ‘can i do yours, then?’

A soft chuckle escaped Ethan’s lips at Oli comment, “It’s not so secret if you know about it.” A small smirk on his lips as he winked at his friend. “Sure,” Ethan held out his hand so Oli could paint them. “Black or do you’ve more colours?” 

‘touch me, what the fuck?’ oli made a face before struggling through trying to paint his nails. ‘just my hands, i’m not poisonous! you’d eat my arse, if i asked you nicely, wouldn’t you? paint my naaaails!’

Ethan shook his head, glad it wasn’t his feet, but before he could say anything he scrunched his nose up in disgust at Oli’s next words. “Remind me why we are friends again?”

‘just for a little bit, ethan. if our faces are too dark, we’ll go get spray tans.’ oli shrugged, pulling out a vial of nail polish to fix up his chipped manicure. ‘help me, i can’t paint my left!’

“Don’t test our friendship, Oli.” Ethan teased before he fully relaxed on the chair. “I’m not going to touch anyone’s nails or feet. Gross.”
