“of course. but i only speak the truth.” she replies. loki indeed was ONE person that she had wanted to meet for a long time. Thor had talked about loki so often that wanda longed to meet such a powerful magician. although she had taught herself magic, perhaps she could pick up a trick or two from the trickster. pressing her lips together after a minute, she nods towards his last statement. 

           no idea. alina’s eyes narrowed. ‘ he just destroyed novokribirsk. ‘ and it was her fault. her fault for trusting him, for believing that he had good intentions. ‘ the commander of the second army? ‘ she had left him in the fold, but he couldn’t be dead. it couldn’t be that easy. but still she saw no spark of recognition in the woman’s eyes, and, despite herself, she relaxed a touch. ‘ i’m sorry. i’m just a bit paranoid. ‘ which, if this woman had known what she’d been through, alina doubted she would blame her. 

“magical energy? not sure about that sort of spike in energy, but maybe something else…” she gives her a small smile. “some people confuse extraterrestrial energy with magical energy so maybe that’s it?”

There was definitely something going on in this strange town. Even though it looked like Midgard there was definitely something off about it, something that he couldn’t quite put his finger on. And from what he could tell it seemed to be tied to this girl. One moment it was a strange town, the next it seemed like something that had been abandoned. And he knew that it was magic. That was something he could actually feel in the air. But not one he’d ever felt before. It was strange and if the TVA found out about it Loki was certain they might lay more blame on him. And that wasn’t something he was going to allow to happen. So where was this source of magic? The girl? Was there a new form of magic growing on Midgard that no one knew about? It was definitely dangerous and would attract the wrong sorts of attention. But it was also not his problem. He had his own mission to worry about and while he would satiate his curiosity he wouldn’t do more than that.

“So you’re a witch. You know magic. A dangerous thing on Midgard is it not?”

although wanda had been trying to improve her mental state, and although she had been trying so hard, the recent loss of her children, coupled with years of being on the run from those that wanted you dead, broke her. the creation of this small town, manipulation of its people, was not something she was proud of. and in fact, something that she knew she had to dismantle. it wasn’t fair to those that lived here. and it wasn’t fair to herself. casting the other a cold gaze, the witch gently waves a hand at the edge of the city. one step towards improving on her mental health? dismantling that which encouraged the downward spiral she had been upon. “you could say that.” she responds simply. “there are those that call me a devil for practicing magic. a stereotype.” she shrugs. she wasn’t one for stereotypes, tended to ignore what people thought of her. 

“You’re going to need more pennies if you want all my thoughts”

“ IS  THIS  BECAUSE  OF  THE  SOUP? “          as  if  she  didn’t  just  send  some  unassuming  burglar  through  her  window.  that  being  said,  it  would  be  nice  to  go  a  week  without  needing  to  replace  a  window…  they  are  surprisingly  expensive,  after  all.  nevertheless,  she  pursues  the  innocence  of  her  illiteracy  with  pointed  fervor.          “ because  i  did  warn  you  that  i  can’t  read.  i  had  to  ask  eli  to  read  it  to  me,  and  his  sokovian  is  limited  to  flirting  with  his  new  girlfriend.  how  bad  was  it?  be  honest  with  me,  i  can  take  it.  oh!  sorry,  you  got  some  glass  on  your  sleeve,  let  me  just… “

     ❝I’M FULL OF SURPRISES, really.❞ shoulders lift and drop in a partial shrug as she watches the other woman. rayne leans back, hands stuffed into the pockets of her jacket. ❝i can keep the spooky metaphors to a minimum though.❞

❝          IN  THAT  CASE.          ❞          grip  tightens  around  his  elemental  gun  that  only  fires  at  his  will.        it  had  contained  an  entire  pantheon  of  gods  before  —  Zeus       &       the  rest  of  his  gods       &        goddesses,       entrapped  by  the  Star-Lord  for       CENTURIES.       he  wouldn’t  be  able  to  quite  explain  the  methods  of  his  powers.        they’re  so  well  tied  to  his  feelings,      beliefs        &        WILL        that  he  caves  to  their  control  in  faith.        green  lights  surround  him,       turning  to  a  shade  of  gold,        a  triangular  shape  forming  before  an  incredible  amount  of  energy  blasts  from  the  half  human’s  gun,       incinerating  all  their  assailants  at  once.        if  not  for  Wanda’s  protection,        he’d  be  toast.

❝          i’ll  admit  i  didn’t  have  to  use  my  powers  at  a  larger  scale  like  this.       it’s  nice  to  see        I  CAN  HANDLE  IT.          ❞          he  descends  to  where  the  lady  is.          ❝          are  you  all  right       ?          ❞

there’s a concentrated look on her face, increasing the strength of the protection around the star lord. it’s pain that fills her eyes, pain that fills her body from the energy exerted to keep the other from imploding. a slow whimper escapes from her lips, once again increasing the amount of protection. when the other descended, she let out a small gasp, putting her hands on her knees, allowing herself to breathe.

          “little help?” sarah muttered, as another hairpin went tumbling to the floor. she’d been picking locks for years, but this one, apparently, was a little beyond her skill set. “any idea how the hell we get outta here?”

“Pulling out all the stops I see–” She uncurls her hand to take the offering, a smile playing at her lips. “What must you have done while you were away?”

“ Oh wow, that’s just nice.” the man stopped at the edge only to push her in the pool. 

“Billy? are you alright? what’s wrong, sweetheart?”
