I really don’t care what X-Men 97 does. Until it acknowledges Polaris as a survivor of the Genoshan genocide, it’s worthless to me.
You don’t completely cut her out of THE most important story of her entire comic book run, a story that in the comics went a year focusing on her PTSD from it in the core title of the franchise, and have me clapping like a seal just cause she’s in it somewhere.

I’m starting to realize that Brevoort is, like Motomu Toriyama, largely a beneficiary of nepotism rather than someone who got where he is due to work.
He headed up the Avengers titles for over a decade. Conveniently, his time period running those books coincided with the MCU, and a lot more eyes focused on Avengers characters and titles. Meaning he got a boost thanks to work done outside the comics.
Now that the X-Men franchise and its characters are starting to get more push outside of comics (see X-Men 97, Deadpool and Wolverine), the decision was conveniently made to end what was happening with Krakoa and put Brevoort in charge of the X-Men comics.
Comics that, from what others have told me, he hasn’t even really read and doesn’t care all too much about. Comics that he seems to want fitting into the same mold as we he was doing on the Avengers comics.
What I’m seeing of him is someone that really does not belong in the position he has, and that only has it because of nepotism among higher ups working on the comics.
