About diapers
So, I’ve been trying to crack down on how much money we spend on a monthly basis. We really need to start saving money for our trip back home and for our future adoption. The two places we spend the most amount of money is on food and diapers. We have been doing good about eating at home more, shopping locally when I can, but there’s nothing I can do about how much my kids eat. I think I’m just going to have to embrace a growing grocery budget for my two boys.
The other place we spend too much money is on diapers. Right now we are doing disposable diapers and wipes. Not only do we spend about $200 a month for two in diapers, but Jaxon’s diaper rashes are getting out of control. I went to a class today and got some education on cloth diapering and cloth wipes. I think this is a switch I want to make. The upkeep will be a little more, but it’s money that will live through all of my children! Instead of flushing money away each month, I could spend a total of $600-$1,000 on diapers with all my kids. I know there will be things to replace here and there, and it will take an adjustment. I’m a stay at home mom, so I don’t think that there are any other obstacles at this moment. It’s another change in our every changing lives, but hopefully one day I will figure everything out. ;) and not to mention, this will be way more eco friendly!!
