but aside from that, what are your favorite platonic rain world dynamics? Canon or not. I’m talking siblings, parent/pup, friends, etc. I love how Rain World actually puts a lot more emphasis on platonic relationships than romantic, not a lot of modern media does that! It’s so sweet and refreshing, though I do still love my ships

A lot of my uhhh scug pairings that I imply are romantic aren't ACTUALLY romantic,, it's simply the quickest easiest way to convey "ur my favorite person ever and nobody could ever replace you"

I just don't see slugcats having much of a concept of romance, but they definitely have a concept of LOVE, and they bond to each other quite tightly. (My only exception to this is watcher and monk, who are totally dating in a very romantic way) (Yes my artisaint is VERY intended to be queerplatonic)

But my favorites are ones where u really get to explore the dramatic happenings of emotions and situations,, like, ones where their situations line up (or even contrast) in such a way that they just go together so well

for example, Saint and Hunter. Hunter whose one singular goal in life is to save moon, and then die a horrible death, whose only driving force is sheer love for a creator that turns away from them at the sight of their own mistakes. Saint comes into this by being the sole thing to put the pause on everything hunter is trying in vain to accomplish (ur not ever getting back to NSH bro I'm sorry) and hits them with way too harsh reality truth bombs and my god this isn't about them I need to stop

I think all the parents scugs (Survivor, Hunter, Artificer, Gourmand, Inv) should be polyamorous and kiss and date and work together to raise their slugpups. The glorious rise of a new colony!
