July Ends is a small experience about loss that I started back in April of 2014 but then put it down for most of the year.

In the downtime of Hyperemesis Pizza getting released, I've picked it back up and will be releasing it soon.

I need your help! I'm making a short game for the #indiesvspewdiepie game jam this weekend about some of my favorite things:

I'm looking for people to record themselves doing an Arnold scream impression and send it to me* for inclusion in the game.

Spending lots of time creating patrons to fill the world and order lots of pizza. Final goal is around fifty with about ten being rare and achievements.

One of the meta goals in the game is collect all patrons (achievement for that) and then also satisfy each patron (yep, achievement for that also). Satisfying a customer means that you served them the pizza they wanted when they are at their happiest. They'll give you a good tip and write a better review about your store.

There's also been some movement on the music front for the game, but I'll have more on that later.

After finishing #spacecowboygamejam, I started working on a pizza related game for, what appears to be now abandoned, #pizzajam (It appears that sometime in the last couple days, GameJolt has completely taken down the site http://jams.gamejolt.io/pizzajam2014).

I had this great idea that I wanted to flesh out and originally scoped about three days worth of work to complete.

At some point I realized that the way the user interacts with the game would be awesome on a touchscreen. So I kicked out an Android and iOS build and started tweaking.

Luckily for me, there wasn't much to change. 

The game requires you to be very versatile with the mouse: click on a customer, then click on the customers order (in this case, a pizza above their head). Then click on the toppings menu in the upper right-hand corner, the click on your toppings, then click Done in the bottom right-hand corner, etc. At it's heart, the game is about balancing and managing these interactions (besides being about your deepest, darkest secret). By switching to a touchscreen platform, the user is able to fly through these routines. And they do become routine. The game is very much in the life-simulation category so it does have it's fair share of repetition (besides having it's fair share of your deepest, darkest desires). But where I think the game succeeds is in the frantic, fun nature of the repetition. Playing it on a tablet cemented that feeling. So here we go.

I'm targeting iOS first in September. Unfortunately, too much of the original design and work was built for a screen that translates perfectly to the iPad dimensions but not so much for Android tablets. Once it's out there, I'll do the work to clean it up right for Android (instead of just stretching it or having black borders on the side).
