I just want to go sit among the lilacs and dandelions. Why are 48hr/ week jobs a thing

Im pretty sure all my fomo comes from chasing the high that was my teen years when i had a group of best friends who did everything together. And accepting that ill just never have that again makes me rly sad. And ill admit that openly. There's not a single thing in this world that i wish i had more. A place in the group chat, a friend to call at 2am when you cant sleep, someone you text every significant moment of your day shamelessly, getting messages or visits without notice just because they thought of you as the person they want to share with... i wonder if we all kind of lose that as we get older or if i just did because of the choices i made...
