“A risk I am more than willing to take if it gets you to listen to me,” he said, crossing his arms tightly across his chest. He knew that he would catch some heat from his husband if she were to spill the beans but he was bound to find out sooner or later. “Listen, just admit to me that I’m right and you’re in need of rest.”

“The sooner I can stretch my legs the better,” he grumbled as he continued to pick away at the food in front of him, “Thank you.” He knew that he’d been difficult and more standoffish than usual and just being an all around pain in the ass. He was surprised that she still had the patience to deal with him.

“I know,” he sighed, poking at the food with his fork. Her bringing up that just reminded him of the appearance of Mick’s ghost or whatever that was. He didn’t think there would be a better time to bring it up. “What if I said that I might know a little something?”

“It’s probably best for everyone.” She was pretty sure the others could use the fresh air almost as much as Len could use the break from everyone else. Sara offered a little smile at his words and nodded. Maybe she’d been so persistent in making sure he was okay because she was going through hell with losing Laurel too. 

Kendra hummed pleasantly as a hand came up to stroke through Sara’s hair, “I could say the same thing about you.” The only complaint she could really make was about the circumstances of their meeting. But if she was entirely honest, if it wasn’t for Vandal Savage wreaking havoc, she wasn’t sure that she would have ever met her.

“Do not test me,” he warned, “I know exactly who I need to talk to to convince you.” Of course he knew that Rip wouldn’t talk to her if he told him to but if he happened to mention that Sara has been avoiding sleep he might do something himself.

“Oh I’m sure you would.” If it was really that much of a problem, Delanie would happily talk with who-ever was needed to get Sara a much needed break. Everyone deserved a rest, everyone deserved a break - especially when they worked as hard as she did. She needed some downtime and Delanie would be happy to drag her out somewhere to chill out. “I’d drag you somewhere, don’t you worry about that. We just gotta actually get you the downtime.”

Len rolled his eyes and let out a little scoff at her denial. “You have to have noticed that he gives you preferential  treatment,” he answered, “Not to mention it seems like he actually likes your company while he’s simply tolerating the rest of us. And I use the term tolerating very lightly in some instances.” Mostly himself and Mick, but he digressed.

“Me and the big brass are gonna talk about it.” No matter who the big brass was, she would make sure that her voice was heard. She knew that Sara didn’t often get breaks but she definitely deserved it. Delanie hummed quietly, reaching out to tug Sara in a little. As if she were trying to make sure that Sara didn’t get dragged away. “We’re gonna make sure that you have enough downtime.”

“I’m not entirely sure that your logic makes as much sense as you seem to think that it does,” he said, hand coming up to pinch the bridge of his nose as he sighed, “I will get the rest of the team to convince you to take a nap. How about that?”

Kendra immediately melted against the blonde, grinning against her lips with a small chuckle, arms coming up to wrap around her girlfriend’s neck, adrenaline high after a successful mission.

“It is, you should be so lucky,” he smirked. He enjoyed  this little bit of lightness between the two of them. The  calm before the storm if you will. “I don’t know. I think  there might be something more there. Something that  might be worth looking into.” She might not see it but  there was definitely something different about the way  that he treated her compared to how he treated everyone  else.

there was only so much that the moon could do but knowing that it was the very same moon that her family was looking at … it brought her some kind of peace. it helped her in a way that she couldn’t verbally explain. gaze flickered to sara for a moment and she offered a little smile, shoulders rolling slightly as hands linked together between her knees. “i could always drag you out here more often so you can.”
