Lin-Manuel, you are the greatest human being that has graced this earth <3 A nerd who changes the lyrics to his own song to call Trump a piece of... =) #ImWithHer
Hillary Clinton won the second debate mostly because Donald Trump totally imploded
So that happened. The most surreal presidential debate in history unfolded here Sunday night at Washington University, as Donald Trump melted down on stage in front of millions of American voters watching at home. The night included Hillary Clinton having her own iconic ârace speechâ moment.
Musicalâs Are Life
So I am sitting here a little bored so I figured since I am slowly starting to fall back in love with musical theater again I am going to answer some questions about musicals. I will try to not answer every question with Hamilton so it may get tough but probably not haha 1. Favorite Number from one of your favorite musicalâs of all time?   - Oh man hereâs where I donât actually answer with a Hamilton number because Hamilton is not my favorite musical of all time. The number would be âEdelweissâ from Sound of Music. It is just a song that no matter what production I have seen it is a number that moves me to tears every time. Itâs the point when Georg Von Trapp realizes what he has missed with his children. 2. Favorite Number from one of your favorite musicalâs in the last three year?   - And here comes the first Hamilton answer. âWait For Itâ from Hamilton. Reason is because I relate A LOT to this song. I wait for my moments to be right where I want them to be. This song is literally me in a nutshell. 3. Favorite Number from one of your least favorite musical?   - I donât have a least favorite musical. So I really donât have an answer for this. 4. Name a number from the first musical you remember seeing.   - Wow this is tough. Because if we go based off movies it would Sound of Music, so I would say âMy Favorite Thingsâ. If we are going with actual stage it would be âRoseâs Turnâ from Gypsy. I saw Gypsy at a local theater in a town I live in. Changed my life and love for musicals. 5. Name a number from a musical you most recently saw.   - âWatch What Happensâ from Newsies. It was LITERALLY a dream come true for me to see Newsies. Sure it wasnât Jeremy Jordan in the role of Jack Kelly but the production I saw was just as good. I love Newsies so much. 6. What is your Favorite Opening Number?   - âHelloâ from The Book of Mormon! I mean it literally is a song about all the Elderâs tracking doors preparing to travel to other countries and how it works. Oh man that opening number is never a bad choice. 7. What is your favorite duet?   - âSunriseâ from In The Heights. I love Benny and Ninaâs story in In The Heights. Her family disapproves of him because he is not Latino but he will do anything to win over her family so he lets her teach him all this words and phrases. Granted the whole song is not a duet but that opening moment with Benny and Nina is so special. Plus it opens up Act 2 =) 8. What is your favorite dance break?   - âSeize the Dayâ from Newsies hands down! When they are dancing on those papers I just stop in awe. Like every move they make has to be so precise. I can envision it every time I hear it or even think about it. SO GOOD! 9. What is your favorite musical ballad?   - âA Little Fall of Rainâ from Les Miserables. It is so heart breaking yet so beautiful a the same time. Because Eponine loves Marius and Marius did love âPonine even if it wasnât the same way. And it just tugs at the heart strings of emotions that musical brings. 10. What is your favorite â11 Oâclockâ number?    - How very little I know about some of these terms. If I knew what that meant I would answer it. Iâm gonna say âWhatâs New Buenos Aresâ from Evita and hope that it works as a correct answer. I love that song though 11. What is your favorite comic musical number?    - âTurn It Offâ from The Book of Mormon. Just listen to it. Itâs just so funny! 12. What is your favorite ensemble musical number?    - â21 Gunsâ from American Idiot The Musical. I think that song is amazing and when they all come together near the end itâs like twenty times more powerful 13. What is a number from your favorite guilty pleasure musical?    - âI Think I Got You Beatâ from Shrek The Musical. Who ever that Shrek would be good as a musical was a genius. It should not have been good but I love it so much =D 14. Name a number from a musical nominated for Best Musical Tony the year you were born.    - Well Meet Me In St Louis was nominated the year I was born in 1990 so I will say âThe Trolley Songâ cause it is the only song I know from that musical. 15. What is one of your favorite female solo number?    - This is a toss up and they are both Hamilton numbers. The first one is âBurnâ. That song is just so powerful and so wonderfully sung on the Cast Album by Phillipa Soo. I can never get enough of it and it just breaks my heart every time. The other one is technically a song that never made it to the final production of Hamilton and that is âCongratulationsâ. In a sense Angelica is giving the middle finger to Hamilton to what she did to her sister. Plus Renee Elise Goldsberry is fantastic and hearing her sing it at the last Ham4Ham Performance literally gave me goosebumps! 16. What is one of your favorite male solo numbers?    - âSanta Feâ from Newsies. Jack Kelly is one of my favorite musical protagonists of all time. This song really gives you just how strongly Jack Kelly feels about what is going on. You get to see inside of a man who otherwise tries to act like a tough guy. That song literally gives me chills every time I hear it sung. 17. Name a number from a musical you think is underrated?    - âTelephone Wireâ from Fun Home. I donât think Fun Home got a long enough run for home important of a musical it is. It is the first time in the history of Broadway that the lead protagonist as been as Lesbian. I literally cannot get enough of the Original Cast Album currently and that is my favorite song that I sometimes put it on repeat. 18. Name a number from a musical you think is overrated?    - Oh I am gonna get a lot of hate here I feel like. But remember this is more of an opinion. âMusic of the Nightâ from Phantom of the Opera. There I said it. I think Phantom of the Opera is overrated. I am not saying itâs not amazing cause it is. I just am not someone who would pick it out of a line of musicals to go see. Just my opinion, please donât hate me. 19. Name your favorite love song from a musical?    - âChampagneâ from In The Heights. This is Vanessa telling Usnavi exactly how she feels. Many would say its not a love song but I think it is. Vanessa is literally begging Usnavi not to board a plane to the Dominican and stay. She says its for Sonny and the people that he would leave behind but the audience knows the truth Vanessa. 20. Name a song sung by your favorite antagonist in a musical?    - I am going to name a song I named earlier because to me it is this characters best number but âWait For Itâ. Aaron Burr is the greatest musical antagonist in the last 10 years in my opinion. That number tells you everything you need to know about Aaron Burr. 21. Name a number from a show you have never seen live but wish to.    - âMy Shotâ from Hamilton. Seriously this song pumps me up before work everyday! It is so full of energy and just gets you motivated. But now that I have seen Newsies, Hamilton has moved to the top of the list of musicals I want to see. I would have loved to have seen Lin-Manuel Miranda in the role but I also really want to see Javier Munoz in the role of Hamilton. Javier Munoz is the current Hamilton in NY and is a man that I admire. He lives his life truthfully and authentically as possible and it is amazing. 22. Name a number performed by one of your favorite female Broadway Stars.    - Brenadette Peters honestly rapping the Witchâs Rap in âInto The Woodsâ from âInto The Woodsâ is one of my favorite female performances. She is SOOOO talented. 23. Name a number performed by one of your favorite male Broadway Stars.    - âGod, I Hate Shakespeareâ from Something Rotten! I love Brian DâArcy James. He is amazingly talented and impresses me with every production he has ever done. I would have loved to have heard his version the the King George songs from Hamilton since he was King George the Third the First. 24. Name a number from your favorite composer    - âDonât Cry For Me Argentinaâ from Evita. Lord Andrew Lloyd Weber is the great musical composer of all time and I will shout it from the roof top if need be. 25. Name a number for your favorite choreographer.    - âThe Room Where It Happensâ from Hamilton. Seriously, Andy Blankenbuehler is a genius and I have loved him since I first saw him years ago on So You Think You Can Dance. The Room Where It Happens is proof to me that he the greatest choreographer of all time. 26. A Number your would like to perform if you were the opposite sex?    - âHurricaneâ from Hamilton. That song to me is the best number in Hamilton. You really understand why Hamilton has done everything he has done to get to where he is. âI wrote my way out of hell. I wrote my way to revolution. I was louder than the crack in the bell. I wrote Eliza love letters until she fell. I wrote about the constitution and defended it well. And in the face of ignorance and resistance I wrote financial systems into existence. And when my prayers to God were met with indifference I picked up pen I wrote my own deliverance.â The words as so powerful and so strong. 27. What is a number from a musical you have performed?   - âSomething Just Brokeâ from Assassins. This musical changed by life. This musical started my love for history and wanting to know things about Americaâs past. This song is a beautiful song about how people felt after the shooting of John F Kennedy. 28. What is a number from a musical you would like to perform?   - Alright this is a tough one but it comes down to the love I have for this show. âHelplessâ from Hamilton. I just love this show. Honestly I would just perform ensemble pieces and be happy but if I could be Eliza that would be okay to. Â

Now let me explain why I admire Daveed Diggs so much: I admire him because he never stopped working. Even in the workshops he thought he wouldnât actually be apart of the final show, but he showed up to every workshop and reading. And even while doing readings for Hamilton he was working on his own music career. Now as a musical lover I appreciate him in a whole other way. Every night he gets on stage and wears his curls like no ones business. As a kid I always saw actors with straight hair. For school musicals and plays I would always make my mom straighten my hair because thatâs how all actors had it. So to see him onstage with his curls down and in a ponytail makes my heart happy in ways I canât describe. Also, this man raps on broadway. HE RAPS! He raps crazy fast too! Rap is one of my favorite forms of music so to see someone who resembles me rapping on a platform Iâve been around my whole life is something that I canât even put into words. Iâm just grateful. Iâm grateful that he showed up to all the readings, Iâm grateful that he pushed himself to do this, Iâm grateful that heâs enjoying himself while doing it. And he doesnât forget where he comes from either. Heâs playing these flamboyant amazing characters yet he would name an award after him âthe shy and awkward awardâ. Constantly brings awareness to things his passionate about. He wants the youth to express themselves. How can someone not like this man? How, let me know cause it doesnât seem possible. I really want Daveed to win the tony for so many reasons. But thank you, thank you for representing mixed kids who love rap and rock curly hair. Thank you for showing us work pays off. Thank you for just being you.

My new favorite power couple!Â
If you havenât listened to Daveed Diggsâ solo album, Small Things to a Giant, or checked out clipping., his band, and are either a rap fan or Hamilton fan, or both, please do so ASAP. Daveed is a national treasure and his music is basically transcendent. I cannot stress this enough, it is well worth the listen and criminally underrated.
[CABINET BATTLE #2 CUT EXTANGE]
