Me 15 hours of gameplay later:

It's always Izuocha hours in my heart but alas this is the last day of Izuocha week...

Water is gushing off the roof in front of them and they have maybe 12 inches of space to press their backs to the wall behind them. They're both a little breathless from having to run to cover, which turns into shared laughter, which is interrupted by a series of ever louder strikes of thunder. They're startled into a moment by it, suddenly realizing the water in the other's hair and on their face, and they get a little lost in each other until the next rumble of thunder, which shakes the structure they're trying to shelter under.

Uraraka holds her purse a little closer to herself, her wet fingers finding purchase against the practical leather a little bit harder, and it feels almost as though it should be a protective ward of some sort. She sure could use it, because she's huddled close enough to Deku now to feel his ever-radiant heat, and she can practically feel her nerves fraying against the warmth, like nylon thread in a flame.

She finds herself a bit spellbound, watching him watch the rain pour off the corrugated metal. There's some kind of idle calculation in his eyes; he's the type of person, she thinks, that you can always tell is thinking about something. The first response to that in her mind is that maybe if she had her own wits about her, she'd focus her attention elsewhere; maybe on the grains of pebbly dirt being displaced by said water from the roof, water stalactites meeting water stalagmites in an orderly but ever-shifting line. But the second, lingering response is the realization that she never seems to get to see him in profile. It's always the back of his head, the signature mop of curly, deep green hair, or when she's lucky, face on, at a chance to watch his bottle green eyes as they crinkle under a permanently wobbly smile.

It's one of the thousand moments she begins to open her mouth to tell him what she really thinks of him, of his gentle hands and stubborn heart and his general aura that she thinks radiance wouldn't quite be the term for...
