It was supposed to be better than this. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. They’d had a plan, damn it, an actual, written-down, worked-out plan. It was simple, really. Get some cash, go to Cali, and never look back. Three steps, no frills, no bullshit, no nothing. But of course, it didn’t work out. Because four months ago, Ethan Green disappeared. Four months ago, Hannah made a new imaginary friend. Four months ago, Lex Foster’s life shattered into a million fucking pieces, and now, in spite of everything, she’s trying to fix it. But with a monster on the prowl in the woods, Hannah insisting that she needs to meet her newest friend, and dreams of her missing boyfriend haunting her every night, she’s being made aware of one painful truth. Life’s a bitch.

Most people would think that the end of the world would've, in the very least, made life easier, seeing as nobody would have to live through it. Most people would've thought that things would just stop one day-- stop for everyone all at once in a flash, then a bang, then nothing.
