back on top. there, i said it. back on top is on top. it took me so long to love it the way i do, but they fucking rocked that album. so eaily accesible and such a great variety of tracks. best song: the plan (fuck jobs)

talon of the hawk. their sophomore work is also very possible to be their best work. it is undeniably great and contains their biggest hit. best song: swear to god the devil made me do it

the front bottoms. self titled is also arguably my fave, but sometimes i cant give mysekf teh courage to put it above those other two. but it is the reason i love tfb the way i do. best song: the beers (my fave tfb song fr)

in sickness and in flames. contrary to popular opinion, this album is incredible. some people didnt like the sound, but i fucking adore this work. the bridges, man. best song: fairbanks, alaska

rose. the better of their eps. sucking awesome work on here. best song: jim bogart

ann. great ep, but does not compare to rose. sorry, ann! best song: tie dye dragon (one of their best songs eveer)

Mac is my favorite ever, so lets rank his work.

faces. not only my favorite but what i genuinly think is his best piece of work... every listen amazes me more and more. lyricism and production at its peak. best song: new faces v2 or happy birthday

swimming. this project defines mac at his best, and it touches all of his fans the most because of the timing of it. best song: whats the use? (honorable mention for 2009 and so it goes because i miss him)

watching movies with the sound off. now this is the type of mac that i really love, and this started an era of him that i fiend for. best song: aquarium (followed by objects in the mirror and REMember)

the divine feminine. his most beautiful and personal work, and probably my most listened to mac album because i find it so eaily accesible. and i have sex to it lol. best song: god is fair, sexy nasty (my fave mac song of all time.)

good am. his most commercially accesible album, filled with hits and all around solid rapping. some of his best work is seen here, but underatted defiently. best song: perfect circle/ god speed (probably his best song ever made, even if its not MY number 1)

macadelic. this was my fave mac project for a while, and i really love a lot of this album. it is very immature, but some songs really hit. best song: fight the feeling (but i also love the question, fuck em all, 1 threw 8 as well)

circles. dont come at me. i love circles. it means so much to mac and his fans. but it is really not my fave. are macadelic and good am BETTER than circles? no. not at all. but do i enjoy them more? sadly, yes. anywhom. best song: i can see and surf

kids. a classic. what got him on the market. not his best, but it is so important to who mac is. best song: nikes on my feet (first mac songs i ever knew... grew up w that shit)

best day ever. now i really fucking love some songs on BDE, but overall we have all seen better things from him. he was so young. best song: wake up (but god do i also love get up and BDE bonus)

work wa great. my boss got me coffee and i talked to my coworker about his music journalism job and he said he would collect some label pr's emails for me so I can reach out and see if I can make any connections, because thats what he did. thnakful for this job and the oppourtunies being present.

mam turned 2 today!

after a year of listening to a different album every single day, i was able to find some of my favorite albums ever. this list is my top 25 albums, but of those that i found in 2021. does not mean they were released in 2021, or that theyre my top 25 of all time. these are my new found favorites that i have discovered and learned to love.

disclaimer: it was very hard to order these 25 albums. some could be switched around a bit for sure, but my top 15 is the most concerete and I can confirm my top 2 would not change at all, top 5-10 also are pretty staple where they are. but the main focus is that tehse were my top 25.

first, album was amazing. catchy, fun, all around well done. 9/10. glad to finish on a great note.

i did it. i listened to a new album/project every single day of this year. some days were kinda lazy/time crunch so i was only able to do a short ass ep, but more or less i listened to something new every day. a different project everyday. and considering there were MANY days where i listened to multiple new albums in a day, i definetly did far more than 365 proper projects. besides the point, i did it. it wasnt supposed to even be such an important grandiose thing, but it ended up beng extremely significant to me and who i am. i found some new favrite artists, albums, songs, and genres. i explore classics and new projects worth remmebering. i better understood myself and who i am as a music fanatic. i am proud of myself. not many peple can say theyve done this. every single day is recorded in my notes app, on tumblr, and into a spotify playlist. to anyone who cared enough to read these posts, thank you. this was absolutley fucking stellar.

for next year, i will not be doing this. im rather just gonna take some time to focus and better know my favorites and thsoe that i think deserve more listens from me. ill still try and listen to a new album maybe every week, but after the stress of doing it every day for a year, i am taking a much needed break.
