Maybe Gi-hun is at the subway station late at night, heading home after a long day's work. After he leaves, he passes by an alley.
Suddenly, he hears a commotion in the quiet evening. He sees a man collapsing after being shot with a gun in the back area. Some gangsters in masks collect the body and drag it to an alleyway before stuffing it in the trunk of a car.
Gi-hun is terrified, so he runs away. But little does he know, two people were watching him the entire time and knows that he witnessed the crime.
It isn't long before he's kidnapped and dragged to their lair.
He knows that he's in trouble when In-ho and Yu-na begin interrogating him. Maybe like a good cop/bad cop thing??

Inho is the good cop and Yuna the bad cop, which throws Gihun for a loop 😵💫

I loved writing those too!! I think it's strange that I managed to make a dystopian AU with those three have a happy-ish ending lol

I decided to finally rip off the bandage and rewatch the series!
A whole year after season 3, I'm finally doing it :)
Here are my thoughts on 1x01 (Red Light, Green Light):
Poor little baby Gi-hun in the flashback and him narrating his childhood :( He had no idea what would come
He's SO CUTEEEE when he's begging his mom for more money lol that white t-shirt/boxers combo looks so adorable on him
LOL Jung-bae trying to help him with the pin number on the debit card will always be funny
I love how Gi-hun put the straw back into Sae-byeok's drink after bumping into her haha (I think it was improvised by LJJ!)
Damn, I totally forgot that Mr. Kim was about to stab his nose too yikes, that scene was hard to watch!
Poor Gi-hun doesn't even know that he won't see his daughter next year :( My heart is breaking asljdfklasjfsdjfdslfja

I was looking for settings for inspiration and found this one. What if...
In King In-ho’s throne room, there was a small room separated only by thick curtains. According to the maids, it was small, barely larger than a double bed. Lined with rugs, blankets, and cushions. Between meetings and visits, one could see the same maids delivering trays of food and plenty of water, with fresh fruit and ice-cold water served in silver and gold—something so hard to come by.
Sometimes they watch the king entering or leaving there. Many interpret that place merely as a rest room reserved for the monarch, between meetings and duties, so he doesn’t have to come and go from his wing.
But few know of the beautiful concubine who stays there. Seong Gi-hun, who eagerly awaits In-ho’s arrival—who calms him, satisfies him—and in return allows himself to be pampered with the greatest luxuries the empire can provide.
Gossip has it that he is a servant who appeared a few years ago looking for work. That he disappeared quietly, and his name is still whispered through the corridors: Seong Gi-hun.

Look, while I know the VIPs were horrible people, I genuinely believe they would NOT have minded if Inho took Gihun and the baby out of the games.
I feel like, if Inho were to have made the games more interesting—say arm the remaining finalists and taken Gihun and baby out, they would have been fine with it.
