Summary- anonymous asked “Hello!!! I was wondering if I could request a Colossus x reader, just a small scenario on how he'd react to the reader being an artist? Maybe new to the team, and he discovers that they're an artist due to finding little drawings on post-it notes, chalkboards, etc. Wishing him to have a good day and such, and finally finding out it's you through his students? So like, reader has a big fat crush and expresses it through drawings? He was already pining for you, but finding out you made him those drawings makes him go totally soft and melts his heart!”
A/n- sorry this took so long my dear anon. This is so cute and I love it I hope I did it justice
Warnings: none I think. (if I missed any let me know)

You stirred from a peaceful slumber to heavy footsteps thudding down the hall.
You tapped your phone to see the time.
6:15am
Those thundering feet woke you up about this time every day, if it was anyone but Piotr, you’d lose your shit. But you just so happen to have a massive crush on the metal man, so you let it slide. You figured he was trying his hardest to be quiet, but 500 pounds of bio steel couldn’t exactly be silent.
Piotr was a morning person; painfully so. He loved his 6:30 am work outs, healthy breakfasts, and protein shakes.
As for you, well, you had no trouble rolling over and going back to sleep.
.
Although your first class didn’t start until 9:00am, you liked to get to the classroom early to prep for the students. And it definitely wasn’t because you passed Colossus in the hall at that time each day.
He always greeted you with a big smile and a simple “good morning.”
As nice as it was to have that interaction, you craved more. You caught yourself staring at him during faculty meetings, and perked up every time someone mentioned his name. It was killing you, that aching in your chest. So you expressed it the best way you knew how; art.
.
Piotr entered the classroom, 15 minutes early as he usually did. Upon putting his stuff down at the desk, he noticed someone had left a sticky note stuck to it.
It read “have a good day!” With the cutest little smiling sunshine figure drawn on it.
He smiled at the note, unsticking it from the desk. The person who left it was obviously an artist, with the incredible detail and calligraphic writing, he could tell whoever drew it was talented.
He stuck the note to the inside of his notebook, giving it a permanent home.
.
Over the following weeks, Piotr received more cute sticky notes and even found more art on the chalkboard in the classroom. He was continually impressed, but he just could not figure out who this person was that was leaving him kind notes.
He flipped through his sticky note collection that had accumulated in his notebook, he was so enthralled with the art that he didn’t hear one of his students come in the door.
“Oh, Miss (Y/n)’s drawings” he student said, observing the doodles on the chalkboard.
Piotr perked up.
“Miss (y/n)?” He questioned.
“Yeah. She draws stuff for us all the time.” He said, like it was obvious.
“Like this?” Piotr questioned, holding up his collection of sticky notes.
“Yeah!”
Piotr hid his feelings well, it was part of being a x-man, and, sometimes, a teacher. But this time he couldn’t help how his heart just melted. (Y/n) must have had her class in the same room he did. He already had a huge crush on her, but seeing just how talented she was made his heart soar.
His heart softened more when the thought of ‘she shared her talent with me’ hit him.
The thought left him smiling like a huge dork the rest of the day.
He could see it now:
Him and her; two artists in love. They’d spend their days on the lawn of the x-mansion, drawing anything and everything. The flowers in the garden, the intricate detail work of the mansion, and he’d kill to be able to draw her smiling at him. He passed her in the hall each morning and sometimes saw her randomly throughout the day. Each time she saw him she dazzled him with a smile and now Piotr knew that the simple smile and polite exchanges were more than that. She liked him.
Maybe their first date would be a picnic in the park, they could bring their sketchbooks. Or maybe just dinner.
The thought only occurred just now to Colossus that he actually had to ask her out and then plan the date.
He chuckled to himself because he was being overzealous, but in reality he was the type of person to have things planned out- Whether that be a date, a lesson plan for the students, or an important mission.
Students started coming into the classroom so he had to push those thoughts to the back of his mind for now. But tonight while he slept, he would definitely be plotting the perfect way to ask her out.

froggi yaps -> these have been kicking my ass for dayssss i'm so happy to finally have finished them :,) wade & logan were kind of hard to do since i've already done this prompt w them but still wanted them to be included. enjoy!
Logan Howlett:
Logan likes to pretend like he isn’t the jealous type, despite him being the most possessive man alive. You’re his, and only his, and he’ll make damn well sure everyone knows it. His scent is definitely all over you.
If anyone is getting a little too close to you for his liking—making you laugh too much, maybe getting a little touchy—Logan is on his feet in an instant, coming up behind you to wrap his arms around your waist.
Maybe gets a little too handsy, hands travelling lower to cup your butt, canines grazing the side of your neck. He won’t say anything, he’ll just loom there so incredibly ominously until whoever was with you gets the message and leaves.
“Logan,” you warn.
He just grunts, “you’re mine, you know that?”
And you sigh, suddenly weak in the knees, and nod along to his words. He keeps you extra close afterwards, usually sitting you in his lap and looking sideways at anyone who so much as glances your way.
Wade Wilson:
Wade is absolutely the jealous type but it takes a lot to actually get him going, and when he does, he hides his insecurity behind humour and substances. Still, it gets the best of him sometimes and he just can’t help it.
If someone’s flirting with you, he’s inserting himself into the situation immediately. He’ll sidle up next to you, prop an arm on your shoulder and grin at whoever you’re talking to.
“Excuse us for a moment.”
He won’t even give you a chance before he’s pulling you in for a bruising kiss, tongue swiping along the backs of your teeth. His hands roam your sides, maybe cheekily pinching your butt.
You pull away gasping, hands on his chest. “Wade!”
“What?” He grins goofily, “I couldn’t help it, you look so fuckable.”
Kurt Wagner:
Kurt’s not really the jealous type, and when he is jealous, he just gets sad. He’ll watch someone else hit on you and wonder if he’s enough, if you would prefer someone less blue.
He’ll go quiet for a while, maybe get a little distant while he thinks it over. He does his best to reassure himself, remind himself that you love him and you don’t want anyone else, but it only gets him so far.
Finally, he’ll cave and come to you, dropping to his knees and pressing his face into your stomach. You rest a hand on the back of his head, tilting yours to the side, “Kurt, baby, is everything alright?”
He sighs, words muffled by the fabric of your shirt. His words all come out in one big jumble, each one mumbled and bleeding into the next. Still, you get the gist of it: he’s feeling insecure, and he wants to know if you’d be happier with someone else.
You blink, stunned. “Of course not,” you frown.
“Really?” He pulls away, looking up at you with wide eyes.
“Yes, really.” You reach for his hands, helping him to his feet, “c’mere, silly.”
And Kurt sighs, letting you pull him in for a kiss.
Scott Summers:
Scott either gets really quiet or really arrogant when he’s jealous.
He’s analyzing the situation, watching you talk with a friend. He’s focused on the way they get a little too close, the subtle contact they make on your arm, the way your smile changes ever so slightly.
When he can’t take it anymore, he’s sidling up to you and throwing an arm around your shoulders. “Hey, doll.”
He’ll plant a sloppy kiss to your lips, lingering just a little too long until whoever’s talking to you gets the message. If he’s feeling extra devious, he’s making a snide comment.
You smack his bicep once they’re out of earshot. “Really?”
“What?” He smiles, feigning innocence, “I just missed you.”
Remy LeBeau:
Remy is so clingy when he’s in love with you so it’s only natural he’d be jealous too. But not the angry jealous type, no, Remy gets sad when he’s jealous.
Someone comes up to flirt with you while you’re at the bar and he’s sitting in the corner pouting, nursing his drink and watching. Someone calls you cute right in front of him and he’s not letting it go for the rest of the day.
“Oh that’s cute of you.” “Mhm, yeah, très mignon.”
However, if someone gets handsy with you, Remy’s on his feet in an instant, cards in hand. Is it too far? Maybe, but he doesn’t care.
“This guy bothering you, amour?”
You take a step back into Remy, letting him wrap an arm around you. “Yes,” you say quietly.
That’s all he needs to hear before he’s sizing him up and sending him on the way, hand clenched around the desk of cards in his palm.
Warren Worthington III:
Warren’s jealousy is a lot more low key, but it’s definitely there. He shrugs it off and pretends like he doesn’t care but inside, he’s in shambles. The minute someone else tries to flirt with you, he’s at your side, wrapping an arm around you and leaning his head on your shoulder.
He smiles but there’s no humour behind it as he stares down whoever’s coming onto you.
Sometimes, if he’s been drinking a little or you’re in a safe space for mutants, he’ll even go as far as to wrap his wings around you, creating a shield between you and the other person. You roll your eyes, turning to face him in the trap of wings he’s created for you.
“Baby?”
“Hm?” His jaw is clenched but his eyes are soft when they find yours.
“Can you let me go?”
He tilts his head down, wings ushering you closer to him for a slow and soft kiss. “No.”
Piotr Rasputin:
He’s not really a jealous person to begin with. He knows you’re his and he trusts you enough to believe you’d never do anything behind your back. The rare times he does get jealous is when someone is doing something for you that he could do.
Someone else holds the door? His brows are knitting together. Someone lifts something heavy for you? He’s frowning for the next hour and a half. He’s your partner, he should be the one doing all that for you. He’ll spend the next few hours trying to show off, flexing his muscles and doing everything for you.
He gets a little sad when he’s jealous, too. Is he not enough for you, would you rather be with someone like that? As secure as he likes to think he is, that all melts away in the face of jealousy.
Finally, he’ll come to you, tail between his legs. “Do I make you feel loved?”
You blink, looking up from your book. “Of course you do.”
“Really?”
You dogear the page altogether, putting it down to look at him properly. His lips are pursed in a frown, eyes big and wide with emotions. You rise to your feet, placing your hands on either bicep.
“What’s this about, Petey?”
He sighs and admits to his jealousy, head hung low in shame. It’s only when you cup his cheek and force him to look at you, planting a soft kiss to his lips, that he starts to feel like himself again.

thanks for reading & have a wonderful weekend /ᐠ > ˕ <マ ₊˚⊹♡
he remembers everything you say, even if he pretends not to.
his jacket somehow always ends up on you
he doesn't talk a lot, but when it's with you, he doesn't shut up
his whole energy shifts when it's just you and him. The tough act fades away when he's with you, and he gets all soft and vulnerable.
he's not big on words, but when he does say something, it lands hard. A simple "I've got you" from him feels heavier than a whole speech from anyone else.
he starts showing up for you without saying why. he walks you home, waits for you outside places he claims he just "happened to be near". it's obvious to everyone but you.
you and him have a shared album of nudes, so when he's in the wyrm and you're working he can scroll through them, seeing naked pictures of you in his serpent jacket.
he gets protective, but not overbearing, way. more like subtly watching everything around you, stepping in before anything even becomes a problem.
when you're cold, he gives you his jacket immediately but then he acts annoyed about it like, "don't get used to it." (you absolutely do.)
the first time you walk mid-argument, he just stands there then folows you a few seconds later because he physically can't let you leave like that.
he's the type to lean in like he's about to say something, then he pauses then he just stays there for a second too long. you can literally feel his breath, and he knows exactly what he is doing
he stays, he always stays.
sex is off the table; he only wants to do it if you are 100% sure, not 99%, just 100%.
your chair is his lap.
he struggles to say "i love you" first. not because he doesn't feel it, but because saying it makes it real and real things can be lost.
what you say, he does. you are the "wife" of his house.
when he kisses you, it's not rushed it's wet, and slow and soft.
he struggles to open up but with you it comes out naturally.
there are moments where he looks at you like he doesn't understand how he got this lucky
he has a rough tone with everyone else but with you it's soft.
you are the only person who can calm him down when he's angry. just your voice or your hand on his arm is enough to pull him back.
if you're upset, he doesn't try to "fix" it with words. he stays. sits next to you, lets you lean on him, grounds you without making it a big moment.
he lets you be dominant if you want to
he hates to see you cry about him.
even when he's distant and struggling he never really lets go. There's always something tying him back to you.

Summary: Reader has had a crush on Reid forever, but doesn’t do anything about it, and Reid doesn’t seem to notice (he flirts, but he flirts with everyone). But now? People are dying and weird things are happening. Who breaks first?
Warnings: Cussing, Violence, Bugs, Use of Y/n, I think that’s it, but let me know if I missed any!
A/N: I can never find anything on The Covenant (2006) so I had to start writing my own fics, oh well! Also this was supposed to be short and sweet and now it’s long and slowburn, so it’s gonna be a two parter!
Sarah, Kate, and I rushed to Sarah’s car with the boys and the new guy right behind us. We were giggling all together, something about running from the cops giving us a silly rush of adrenaline. Kate offered the new guy a ride home, who introduced himself as Chase, and I made a mental note to bring up her flirting later since she’s with Pogue.
We all jump in Sarah’s car, but unfortunately the engine won’t turn over.
“Shit!” Kate and I both yell. Sarah leans her head out the window.
“My car won’t start!” She yells to the boys.
“Jump in with us!” Caleb shouts back and I smirk.
“I can’t just leave it here!” She says back.
“I can fix it for you!” Reid’s head pops up behind my brother’s.
I can’t help but roll my eyes. Of course he wants to show off to the new girl, she’s like a shiny new toy.
He lifts the hood of her car, and then drops it again, way faster than any mechanic would have, letting me know he used his powers. I rolled my eyes again.
“Try it now!” The car started up immediately.
“Thank you!” She shouted back.
I looked up to see Reid pushing Tyler into the passenger seat, the latter not looking very happy about it.
Once we got back to the dorms we said goodnight to Chase and went to our room. We all sat on the bed talking about the party when Kate brought up Reid and Caleb both hitting on Sarah. My head whipped to face her, jaw dropped, and she just smiled shyly.
“If I were you I’d pick Caleb.” Said Kate.
“Why? Sarah asked.
“I dunno, he’s always been the sweet one. That, and Y/n has been crushing on Reid since they were kids.” Kate whispered the last part under her breath, but not quiet enough.
“What?” Sarah looked at me dumbfounded.
“It’s just a crush!” I threw my hands up in defense. “Plus he’s such a flirt, I bet he doesn’t even notice me.”
Kate gave me a sad smile, and Sarah tilted her head.
“Whatever! It’s no biggie! I’m gonna go shower, I smell like smoke.” I said before getting my towel and walking down the hall to the showers.
While I was in the shower, I couldn’t help but feel like I wasn’t alone. I called out to see if anyone else was in here, but no one answered. I turned back to face the water. The lighting got brighter before there was a shatter, and the light was gone completely. The showers were completely dark now, so I turned off the water and wrapped my towel around me.
As I stepped out, I looked around and saw the shattered bulb on the floor, but there was still no one there. I turned around and jumped half out of my skin at the reflection of myself in the mirror, but again, it was just me.
Hurriedly, I walked out of the bathroom careful to avoid the broken glass. I walked through hallway quietly, listening to hear if anyone else was walking around. I paused, hearing steps behind me, turning around to be met with no one, again.
Turning back around to continue the trip back to my dorm, I screamed and almost dropped my towel. Reid was about 4 inches away from me.
“Holy shit, Reid! What is wrong with you?” I half yelled.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you… that bad. We just got in.” He chuckled, smirking.
“No, I’m sorry I screamed so loud, I thought there was someone watching me in the shower, and I kept hearing things. I feel paranoid.” I said back.
He stepped closer, and then brushed past me, making me shiver since I was still in my towel.
“Let’s have a look, shall we?” He started for the showers.
I followed him in a silence. Not awkward, but not quite comfortable. I should probably feel more awkward, but something about Reid always makes me feel calm. Even though that’s the exact opposite of the energy he brings with him.
We walk into the showers together and he takes a look around the room.
“I, uh, don’t see anyone.” He said.
“There was- I-” I stammered.
“Let me walk you back.” He gave a small smile.
“Thank you.” I said once we made it to the door.
He stared at me for a minute, and I almost thought he was going to say something. Instead, he just gave a quick nod, turned around, and walked away. I looked down to unlock my door.
“Goodnight Reid!” I called out, but he was already gone.
The next day, Kate, Sarah, and Chase all went into town to run some errands. I had homework, so I stayed behind, but told them I would see them at Nicky’s this evening.
I finished my homework, but it wasn’t time to go yet, so I got dressed and made my way to the boys dorms.
“Yo, Ty, it’s me. Open up.” I banged on my brother’s door.
The door opened to a very unimpressed Tyler, and I made my way in. Unfortunately, his bed was covered in laundry, so I threw myself on Reid’s bed instead, noticing his absence.
“Where’s the other one?” I asked, grabbing a book off the nightstand. Dreamcatcher.
“He’s in the shower. We had swim practice and he didn’t wanna stink like chlorine when we go out.” Tyler responded.
I made a hum of acknowledgement, wondering if he would see anything weird during his shower. Realizing I was thinking about Reid in the shower, I opened the book and started reading, just to get my mind off him.
As if he heard us talking about him the door opened, and in walked Reid himself. Similar to my attire last night, he was only wearing a towel, and I had to admit, he was looking mighty fine.
“What’s up baby Simms?” He asked, as I put the book over my eyes so he could get dressed.
“It’s literally by 4 minutes, when is everyone gonna stop calling me that?” I rolled my eyes, even though they couldn’t see them.
“Sorry sis, that’s what you get for losing the fight to get out.” Tyler said, and I could practically hear the smirk in his voice.
“It’s not fair. You’re the boy, you got the powers anyway, why did you get to be older too.” I pouted as Reid pulled the book off my eyes, effectively letting me know he was decent.
“She makes a good point, you could have let her have one win.” Reid chortled. I stuck my arm out in a ‘Thank you’ manner, and shot a look at my brother who just laughed.
“Whatever, let’s go. I’m driving.” Tyler said, and Reid held his hand out to pull me off the bed.
“Yeah, yeah, you and your car.” Reid said back before turning back to me. “Why were you in my bed anyway?”
“Because Ty’s a slob and never puts his laundry away.” I deadpanned, and he laughed.
“If you wanted to be in my bed you just have to ask.” He smirked, and I smacked the back of his head.
“Ew, don’t be a creep.” I said, but I was blushing anyways.
When we got to Nicky’s, Kate, Chase, Sarah, and Caleb were already there. I took Tyler and Reid’s jackets, and joined the group at the table, while they split off to go play pool. I looked over to see Aaron and his friends already over there and sighed. This never ends well.
We hung out for about half an hour before Pogue showed up too, apparently he had to fix his bike. When he greeted Caleb, he mentioned that Reid and Tyler were here too, which I thought would be obvious considering I was here, but I guess not.
Pogue went to go grab some food, saying hi to the other two boys in the process, and since I was nosey, my eyes kept wandering over there. That was a mistake when they placed bets on one of the waitresses’s underwear. My crush, my brother, and one of my taken best friends. Gross.
Within a few minutes, Chase and Caleb had started a game of foosball, which left only me, Sarah, and Kate at the table.
“Wait, what just happened?” Sarah asked.
“What do you mean?” Kate said, and I nodded.
“Just a minute ago, we were all having fun, and now we are sitting here watching them have fun.” She said.
I shrugged, and Kate said, “It’s just what girls do.”
Sarah shook here head with a coy smile. “Uh uh, I’ll show you what girls do, someone give me a quarter.”
I pulled one out and handed it to her.
“Thank you.” She said in a sing song way, making her way over to the juke box.
Kate and I laughed as she chose a song and made her way to Caleb. Pogue gave him a pat on the shoulder as he was dragged out to the dance floor to dance with Sarah. Kate cheered, and Pogue looked at her, some emotion flashing across his face, but I didn’t know if it was guilt, or regret, or anger…
I looked back over to Reid and Tyler, wishing Reid would come ask me to dance, but the second I looked over a glass broke, and Aaron and Reid were pushing each other.
“Shit!” I said as Pogue and I made our way over, collecting Caleb on the way.
We all made our way outside to back each other up, but I was trying to catch Nicky’s eye on the way out so he would come break it up. Whether I succeeded or not, I wasn’t sure. Reid and Tyler were outside before the three of us.
“You bet him he couldn’t make the shot and he did!” Said Tyler.
“Well too bad, cause we’re not paying.” Said Aaron.
“What’s going on?” Caleb said as we stood next to our friends.
“He bet me I couldn’t make a combo shot, and well… I did.” Reid said with a knowing look.
“Listen-” Aaron was cut off by Nicky.
“Hey! Take it somewhere else!” He shouted from the door with a baseball bat.
“Whatever you say, Nicky.” Said Aaron, as he and his friends walked past us, shoulder checking us on the way out.
Reid pulled me behind him and Tyler so I didn’t get hit. I tried not to read too much into it. It’s just because I’m Tyler’s sister. Nothing else.
“What were you thinking?” Caleb asked when it was just us.
“I was just playing him.” Reid moved to face Caleb head on.
“Yeah, come on Caleb, they were suckers for it.” Said Tyler.
Reid walked closer to talk right in his ear and said, “Why don’t you quit being such a pussy?”
Caleb put his palm across Reid’s shoulder, and I stepped forward but Tyler pulled me back.
“I’m not finished with you yet.” Caleb said when Reid went to walk away.
Reid grabbed Caleb’s hand and used his powers. I don’t know what kind of spell he was using but it was strong enough to define the veins running through Caleb’s hand and arm.
“Reid.” Caleb winced. “Stop.”
But he didn’t. And it was visible the moment Caleb had enough. He clenched his the fist that Reid had, and it was enough to send Reid flying back into the wall of the building next door.
“Reid!” I screamed and went to lunge at Caleb, but Tyler held me back again, and gave me a stern look that said ‘Just let them fight it out.’
Pogue looked at me, then Reid, then Tyler. I looked between the both of them baffled that they would just watch. Sure they all fought, but it had been escalating recently with all of them ascending soon.
Caleb gave his usual ‘Don’t use, it’s seductive, you’re gonna expose us, I’m so self righteous’ speech, but Reid wasn’t having it. He levitated a metal barrel and hurled it right at Caleb, who sent it back with an alarming amount of force, sending Reid flying yet again, this time into pallets of glass bottles.
Reid got up slowly, but Caleb was already heading for him again, and finally Pogue intervened.
“Caleb, stop!” He said, pulling him back.
“It’s for his own good!” He said, not taking his eyes off Reid. “Keep using like you did last night when you ascend, you’ll be as good as dead!”
“So what? I fixed her car? Big deal!” Reid shouted back, Tyler and I running over to help him up.
“I’m talking later and you know it!” Caleb said, and I paused.
Like when I was in the shower later?
“The hell I do! I. Didn’t. Use. Later.” He said pushing past Pogue and Caleb.
“We shouldn’t use on each other, man.” Tyler tried to say.
“Oh tell it to Reid.” Caleb said back.
“Y/n, come on.” Ty said to me, as I hadn’t moved since helping Reid up.
I walked past all three of them before tyler followed me. I walked just fast enough that he wasn’t falling into step with me, but that I also didn’t catch up to Reid either.
By the time we made it back to the car, we had all inevitably synced our steps up. I didn’t say anything. I got straight into the back seat and slammed the door.
“Hey! Watch the doors!” Tyler said trying to lighten the mood.
I shot him a glare, and he shut up.
Reid sighed. “Look, Y/n-”
“No. Both of you just shut up. All of you were being immature and you all know that I hate that.”
The rest of the ride home was silent. Once we made it back, I went straight to my dorm, splitting off from the boys when we rounded the first corner. I didn’t bother saying goodnight, neither of them deserved my pleasantries at the moment.
Kate and Sarah were still out when I got back, so I got into bed with a book. I must have dosed off, though, because when I woke up, it was storming outside. Kate was fast asleep, and Sarah was tossing and turning, but looked to be asleep also.
Something felt wrong though. I looked closer, and her face was showing that she was in distress. She must have been having a nightmare. I stood up to wake her, but that was when I saw a spider crawling out of her ear, and she sat upright with a start.
She looked at me, then at Kate, then back at me. I pointed down to the covers where the spider was, but when we looked at it there was nothing there.
Sarah and I shared one last look, but I couldn’t completely decipher her face, and it didn’t seem like she could read mine either. I scooted back into my bed, wide awake now. I curled up, knees to my chest and started out the window.
I didn’t get any real sleep, the suspicion of something not being right weighing on my shoulders. I probably dosed a few times before deciding sleep was a lost cause, and just getting up. By then some of the early risers were up too, so I got dressed quietly, and left the dorm.
I walked the halls for a while before going to the spot where Tyler, Reid, and I always meet up before class. They were walking up as I was.
“Woah, baby Simms, you look like hell.” Reid said, oh so charmingly.
“Yeah, what happened to you?” Tyler asked.
“I- did either of you- nevermind.” I stuttered out.
“No, did either of us what?” Reid asked.
“Did either of you use last night? Like, to play a joke on Sarah or something?” I looked at Reid, before Tyler jumped in.
“See? I told you I felt someone using.” He said.
I got goosebumps, because I don’t even have powers, and twin telepathy alone was enough to let me know someone was doing something bad. Caleb and Sarah seemed to really hit it off, so I doubt it was him. That left Pogue, but that didn’t seem right either.
We all looked between each other, unease settling between us.

note from sunnie: warning! this contains major spoilers for the current arc! (suo backstory chapters) and because of that, this is definitely an angst fic! enjoy :)
You don’t know anything’s wrong until the end of the first day.
Not until Nirei’s text comes in as the final school bell rings. You read his message while your friends race to pack up and go home around you, a confused furrow in your brow and lip trapped between your teeth.
Have you heard from Suo today? He didn’t come to school and isn’t answering our messages.
You frown, swiping to the text thread you have with Suo. His last message is from the night before, telling you to sleep well. He didn’t text you good morning like usual, which is odd, but you’d woken up late and been swept away in schoolwork for the whole day so you didn’t notice.
You’re starting to feel guilty about not noticing.
Despite the gnawing worry eating at you, you ignore Nirei’s message for the length of time it takes you to haphazardly shove all your belongings into your school bag and run out of the classroom. Instead of bothering to type out a response, you dial Nirei’s number and press your phone to your ear.
He answers on the third ring.
“What’s going on with Suo?” You ask in lieu of a greeting once you hear the call connect. There’s some shuffling, some muffled voices on the other end of the call, and you know he’s still at Furin with his class.
“We were hoping you’d know,” Nirei sounds anxious, which wouldn’t be out of place, but the tension underlying his words is making your own heart pound in return. “He hasn’t said anything to you?”
“No,” You hate how bitter the one word tastes on your tongue. It’s not like you and Suo are dating—not officially, anyways. But there’s always been a connection there, a level of closeness that goes just a touch or two past friendship. Really, you’ve just been waiting for him to finally ask you out. You’re practically a couple without the label. “He didn’t say anything about being sick when we talked last night.”
“We—hold on, let me put you on speaker,” Nirei’s voice goes distant for a moment, until the muffled voices in the background become louder, clearer. You recognize Sakura muttering something indecipherable to Nirei, hear Kiryu chastise Tsugeura for some unknown misstep. The usual crew. “We were with him last night, and he seemed fine.”
“The jerk can’t even bother to send a text?” Sakura snaps, and you know his anger is just misplaced frustration. You also know he’ll correct himself when he’s ready—you’ve watched him grow an incredible amount in the months you’ve known him.
“I’ll try calling,” You offer, because now you’re starting to worry. The boys bid you goodbye and good luck, and you end the call before starting another.
But Suo doesn’t answer.
You leave a voicemail, instead.
“Hey, it’s me. Can you call me when you get a chance? Everyone’s worried about you. And I… I am, too.”
You message Nirei and tell him that when you hear from Suo, you’ll let him know, and try to reason with yourself that missing one day of school and not answering a few texts isn’t the end of the world. You try, but you don’t find much comfort in it.
Because one day turns into two, which spills into three.
You’ve lost count of how many times you’ve messaged him, let alone called. None of it gets you a response, and the small knot of worry that had been building since Nirei texted you on day one has built into a boulder of anxiety sitting heavy on your chest.
Day two is spent checking your phone every time you imagine it to vibrate with a text. And when you do get a message, it’s Nirei or Sakura asking if you’ve heard from him. Day two is hell, because you feel helpless.
Day three isn’t much better. But Nirei calls you during your lunch block, and you answer with enough dangerous hope that they’ve found him, that you nearly die from impact when you’re let down.
“Where does Suo live? We’re going to go there after school,” Nirei says instead of what you actually want to hear. You frown, nudging your bento forward and away from you, ignoring the curious looks from your friends. Suddenly, you have no appetite.
“I don’t know,” You admit, pouting. The same helplessness comes biting back at you with a vengeance at your admission. “We’ve never gone to his house. We either hang out in town or at my place.”
You’d known something was wrong when he never mentioned his family or invited you over. But you were no stranger to uncomfortable topics, so you let him decide when he wanted to talk about it. Now you’re starting to wonder if you should’ve pushed him to open up. If maybe it would change how things are.
“Okay,” Nirei doesn’t blame you for not calling into question why you—after months of nearly dating—have no idea where Suo lives. You sort of wish the blond did, because you can’t be the only one blaming you. “I’ll check the school records. He had to list an address on his application.”
You hum, mind a million miles away. Your thoughts are scattered somewhere near where Suo is, but the problem is you don’t have a clue where that could be.
“Hey,” You say after a beat of silence. Nirei is still on the line, no doubt having picked up on the fact you still had something to say. “If you find his address, could I come with you to check on him?”
“Of course. I’ll text you our plan.” There’s no hesitation. You think you hear relief in his tone, though you’re not sure if it’s because he and the boys won’t have to go alone or because you won’t be alone.
Either way, you’re grateful.
“Thanks, Nirei.”
You hang up on him quickly, and open your text thread with Suo.
Twenty-seven unread messages from you to him. Three days of no contact. You miss talking to him, but you miss just having him even more.
You’re typing before you can process your thumbs tapping across the screen.
I’m sorry if something happened. Or if I did something that upset you. I just want to know you’re safe, Suo. Even if you don’t want anything to do with me anymore. I hope you remember how much I care about you. Please be safe. And come back to me soon, okay?
Somehow, you know he won’t respond even before you hit send.
“Are… are you sure this is the right address?”
You’re looking at an empty lot.
An empty lot.
It’s supposed to be Suo’s home. It’s supposed to have at least a building, one where the owner of your heart sleeps and does homework and calls you right before bed just to ask how your day was.
And there’s not even a building.
“I’m certain.” Nirei responds to Kiryu’s question. You’re standing hopelessly between the four boys—Sakura and Tsugeura on your left, Nirei and Kiryu on your right—hoping that no one will acknowledge you.
Of course, you’re not that lucky.
“You seriously have never been to his house before?” Tsugeura asks, and Nirei hisses at him to be sensitive! You nod your head despite the guilt threatening to eat you alive.
“It’s just…” Kiryu starts his question more tactfully, but he’s still addressing you, so you kind of wish you could bury your head in the sand. As if that’d make Suo come back. “We all thought you two were… together. It’s weird that he never invited you over.”
And doesn’t Kiryu realize that you know all that? That you probably should’ve seen some of the red flags with Suo and confronted him? You know you could’ve done a million things differently, and thinking about it is only making your throat close with hot, angry tears. Guilty tears.
“It’s all weird,” Sakura interrupts, saving you from having to answer. He turns towards you, and you think you might crumble if he asks you a question, too.
But he doesn’t.
Instead, he nods his head over his shoulder, gesturing in the direction away from the empty lot that was supposed to have the answers to where your Suo has been.
“C’mon, I’ll walk you home.” He’s not asking. He’s giving you a direction, an out of the conversation that’s slowly breaking you apart piece by piece. You nod, even though you don’t think you ever really had an option to not leave with him. “Let me know if you find anything out.”
He says that second part to the others, but he doesn’t wait for a response before he’s turning away, walking without checking that you’re following him.
You do, because you can’t stand to look at the empty lot any longer.
You walk half a step behind him the whole way back into town. Neither one of you talk, either, but you do sniffle back unshed tears every once in a while he does you the favor of not acknowledging.
He leads you back in the direction of your house. When you get there, he doesn’t leave immediately, and you know he wants to say something to you. But it’s still Sakura, so you know he doesn’t quite understand how to open up this conversation.
You sit on the curb, knees drawn tight to your chest and fold arms so they’re covering your face. You don’t want him to see how you’re almost crying, but you know he’s perceptive enough to figure it out regardless. Still you put some effort into hiding.
Sakura lowers himself onto the curb beside you, quietly, and suddenly it’s impossible to stop the thoughts that’d been plaguing your mind from taking over.
“Do you…” You hesitate, turning your head to the side to watch him while still folding in on yourself. He doesn’t look at you, but he does give you the space to straighten out what you want to say. Or, more so what you need to say than what you want. “Do you think I could’ve done something to drive him away?”
“Not a chance,” He doesn’t hesitate, and the swift certainty he replies with catches you off guard. He clicks his tongue like he’s annoyed by the question, which is a positive thing, coming from him. “Stupid. Suo’s obsessed with you. Always talkin’ about you and things you like.”
You frown, and though you know you should be comforted by his words, you’re not. There’s something gnawing at you, deep in the pit of your stomach, and you know you won’t feel at ease until Suo is back in your arms.
Safe.
“That’s the thing, Sakura.” Your voice is a little stronger now, but your throat burns and your eyes are still flooded with tears that haven’t yet spilled. “He knows so much about us. But how much do we know about him?”
Your words hang heavy in the air between the two of you. And it might be a sunny afternoon, but you feel chilled straight down to your bones.
“It’s like he’s a ghost to us.” You look forward, across the street and into the distance. Nothing in particular catches your attention, but at least you don’t have to see the way Sakura reacts to your words. “Like he’s there, but not real. Just out of reach, haunting us.”
“He ain’t a damn ghost,” Sakura snaps, and you flick your attention to him to read his expression. He’s frowning in the same forward direction you’d been looking, his dual colored brows knitted together tightly in frustration. “He’s real, and we’ll find him.”
And you really can’t let your mind go down the road of not seeing Suo again, so you make yourself believe him. You make yourself trust Sakura’s vow, and trust that when Suo comes back, you’ll all work it out.
You can’t let yourself believe otherwise.
So, you nod.
Nothing has happened by the end of the third day.
Nothing, until Suo calls you.
You almost don’t register that it’s actually him calling at first. There’s a moment, or two, where you just stare at the screen in disbelief.
His contact photo is a picture of the two of you. Tsubaki had taken it at one of Bofurin’s celebrations. He’s standing behind you, strong arms wrapped around your middle with his chin tucked over your shoulder. You have a palm pressed to his outside cheek, holding him close. You look so happy.
You thought he had been, too.
But the moments pass and you realize you cannot miss his call, so you scramble to drop the pencil you’d been doing your homework with to collect your phone and hold it to your ear.
“Suo?” His name falls past your lips in a breathy whisper. Like just the sound of it knocks the wind out of your lungs—and it does.
“Come to your window.” You hear his voice, real and steady if not twinged with something you can’t place in your haste to race from your desk to your bedroom window.
And then you see him.
Your bedroom is on the second floor, so his head is tilted upwards to find you. Night has fallen, so he's only light up by the hazy street lights. He’s in the middle of the road, wearing his regular clothes, if not a little disheveled. There’s a smile on his lips that doesn’t look right, but none of that is what catches your attention, because—
“What happened to your nose?” You feel like your heart is in your throat. He’s so close and calling you but he has blood staining half his face. You’ve never known him to get hurt to the point he bleeds, even despite the innumerable fights he’s been in. “Who did that? Where have you been?”
“My, you have a lot of questions.” He deflects. There’s something off about him—and he didn't need to have been missing for three days for you to figure it out. Even from your spot in the window, even through the phone, you know he’s hurting.
“Suo, hold on,” You huff into the call, weight shifting between your feet. Nervous is an understatement to describe your feelings. “Don’t move. I’ll come down—”
“Stay right there, sweetheart.” He chastises, voice dripping with honey despite stinging like venom. You freeze on command. “If you leave the window, I’ll have to go.”
“Suo,” You plead, not caring in the slightest about the tears welling up in your eyes. Miraculously, you haven’t cried yet, but now you’re approaching your limit. Having him so close yet so out of reach is beyond painful. “Hayato.”
You see it then, the emotion he tries to hide. It flashes across his face like lightning, so quick you wouldn’t be able to catch it if you were any less devoted to him.
He’s hurting, too.
But then he’s smiling again, acting smug like he can convince you that he’s fine, that this is all part of his plan. You know it isn’t, but calling him on it might make him run, and you really can’t risk that right now.
“I’m afraid that won’t work. This time, at least.” He laughs, but it’s a touch too self-depreciating for you to believe him. You hadn’t meant—ever—to use his first name as a way to convince him to do what you want. But from his words, it almost seems like he’s accusing you of manipulating him by calling him Hayato.
“I don’t understand what’s going on,” You confess, as if that much wasn’t glaringly obvious. You have to lean your weight against the windowsill, forehead pressed to the glass as you watch him like he’ll disappear in the time it takes to blink.
Which, is that even a stretch anymore?
“It’s all very obvious, if you think about it.” Suo hums, almost tauntingly. But any mirth he might be trying to display is completely undercut by the dried blood coating the lower half of his face. “So put that pretty head of yours to good use, alright?”
“Suo,” You plead again, hating how desperate you sound but doing nothing to temper how obviously you’re aching for him to come back. “I… I love you. Just talk to me. Please.”
It’s the first time you’ve said the words, admitting aloud just how heavy the feelings you carry for him are. And you despise you’re being forced to tell him like this. Through a phone call, on the verge of tears, unable to physically go to him despite being close.
But it doesn’t make them any less true.
“Don’t… don’t.” Suo breathes heavily through the line, and you hear the shudder in his words. You think he believes you; you think you see the truth of it settling across his features despite the distance or how quick he is to lock down his emotions after. “If you say stuff like that, I’ll have to leave.”
“You don’t have to.” None of this makes sense, but you know you’ll never get your answers if he leaves tonight. Something deep within your bones tells you that if he leaves—if he walks away—you won’t see him again.
And you can’t let that happen.
“You haven’t seen poor Nirei yet.” Suo smiles and you don’t believe him. You don’t believe that he’s actually amused, or that he’s so casual about this all, or that he just implied he’d fought Nirei. And you certainly don’t believe that Nirei was the one to give him the bloody nose. You can’t believe it. “He just didn’t know when to quit.”
“Stop it.” You hiss, and you feel the first of your tears start to run down like it’s a race to fall. “You don’t mean it. I can see it in your face.”
How did everything go so wrong?
“I only came by to let you know that this thing between us? It’s done.” His voice is cold now. And you hate that the first thought you have is that at least he’s not pretending to smile anymore. But such a small comfort doesn’t take away the bite from his words, each one landing like a well placed punch to your heart. “There’s a reason I never asked you to be official.”
It feels so trivial, worrying about your non-relationship status while he’s actively breaking down. You wish you could say you don’t care about it, that the only thing that matters is that he’s here, but you know it’s not true.
And maybe it’s selfish, but knowing that fact doesn’t make the pain cease or your tears stop falling.
“Hayato.” You don’t even know what you’re begging for anymore. All you can think is to plead his name on a broken sob, your fingers gripping your phone so tight something is bound to break—whether it be bone or glass or you.
“Goodbye,” He doesn’t even say your name, not once, before he ends the call, still not smiling. You watch him pull his phone away from his ear, and when he turns the slightest inch away, you run.
You don’t bother with shoes, or a coat, or even clothes other than your pajamas as you race through the house. You take the stairs two, three, at a time. You use your hands to push off from the walls to increase your momentum and speed.
Still, it’s not enough to catch him.
Barefoot, you sprint into the street where he’d been standing moments before. He’s gone, you knew he’d be, but there’s not even a trace of him left to be found. There’s no way to tell if he went left or right, but you guess anyways and run up and down the street like you’re insane.
You feel like you are.
You’re still crying by the time you dial Sakura’s number and drop helplessly onto the curb. The same spot you were in when you talked to Sakura earlier that day. You don’t feel any better than you had then. Part of you wishes you could go back to the version of you that hadn’t suffered the call with Suo.
Sakura answers after only a few rings, but you’re already talking, rambling, the moment you hear the call connect.
“I saw him,” You sob into the phone, knees drawn tight to your body like you could physically make yourself small enough that the ache inside you has nowhere to live. “I talked to him, but he left. I let him get away. And—and he was hurt, Sakura. He had a bloody nose—”
“Yeah, we know.” He interrupts you, voice grave. He doesn’t want to be having this conversation with you, you can tell. He’s angry, and you still haven’t pinpointed who he’s angry at. Now, you’re in no state to dissect Sakura. “He fought Nirei.”
Suo had practically told you as much, you think. But you don’t say it aloud. There will be a time, later, for you to break down the conversation you had with Sakura, Nirei, and the others. But it’s not now, not tonight.
Tonight, you can cry. Tomorrow—that will be when you can talk about it.
You think about how, earlier, you called Suo a ghost. Unknowable, unreachable. An apparition.
And suddenly, you’re finding it impossible to deny the fact that you might be right.
extra note from sunnie! I loved writing this and am dying to know how this arc is resolved. possibly a part two depending on how it plays out?
