There is always that thrill in old fanfics circa 2013, where there are only some words in the summary, and the tags are just the ship and characters. You go in there blindfolded, muffled, and praying to your gods that it's something good.

Why is it that the absolute best, 200k-word, life-ruining fanfics only reveal themselves past midnight, when I have responsibilities, alarms, and a fragile adult reputation to maintain the next morning?
