Shock, awe, and disbelief flash through you when you come upon this foot under the refrigerator. 😂 Gus finally figured out how to open the refrigerator. We really didn’t see this coming because he never really tried on his own. Sure he would wedged and weasel his way in the fridge when we opened it. His love of the bottom left product drawer filled with apples, cuties, lemons, and limes is seriously strong. He figured it out Sunday and only had the opportunity to attempt again a handful of times. (As of 6:30 pm tonight we have our Amazon Prime amazingness of a lock installed!) This afternoon he escaped our FaceTime session and went to grab a cucumber Once upon a time in the last year he loved cucumbers and has since rejecting them 😩 Such a toddler! Am I right? I am. So I went with his resourceful grab of the cucumber after his reference break in. I cut it and plated it and Danger-Gus dug in. This moment is what being a parent is all about. Taking all the oops and uh-oh moments to roll with it to help everyone learn and find the beauty in it. These pictures tell many stories. 1. Gus woke up at 5:30 am and is now paying the price with his incessant yawning and eye rubbing. 2. No shirt because these days Gus refuses a sippy cups and mostly does well with an open cup… until he doesn’t. 3. Momma is home and pretty exhausted this Monday due to Gus being exposed to Covid. (So far we have tested negative 🙌🏼 but will test again.) This means this momma teacher has not taught a full 5 day week this year (5 weeks in and I’ve had 2 days off.)🤦🏻‍♀️😢😂😩 All the mixed emotions because momma-teacher guilt is real and I’m trying to find the balance. Not pictured: one awesome husband @brieandbarrels helping hold down the fort and ready to report for Gus duty; since he was dismissed from jury duty this week. Gus is eagerly anticipating lots of “horse-play” under dad’s care.
