“I’d love some help,” Maia said with a soft smile to Diamond as she shuffled around in the kitchen, grabbing things that they’d need. “I thought we could use some good breakfast after everything,” It had certainly been labor intensive for all of them and now well, now they had to wait and see the results. Diamond was one of their coven members that she knew the least and she turned to her, as she began to crack eggs into a bowl. She wanted to get to know her better.

“How are you holding up?”

“oh, great!” i totally agree, nothing soothes like a fantastic breakfast.” diamond exclaimed with joy when maia didn’t turn her offer of help down. she starting moving around the kitchen as well, getting out the pan they’d need as well as a couple other things. at maia’s question, the blonde turned to her and nodded her head slightly, “a little OVERWHELMED, honestly.” she admitted with a slight laugh. “ -- when ariadne told me to stay in california until the hunters were gone, i didn’t EXPECT to come back to ... “ so much death? loss? a whole new world, almost? “ -- well, let’s just say it’s definitely different then when i left. everyone seems different, YET, the same as well.” diamond could see the CHANGE in everyone’s eyes. yes, the losses they had experienced but also the ... confidence in their magics. in who they WERE now. the disbelief that had always been swimming around the room before she left was GONE, immensely so. 

     truth be told, ariadne felt numb, to everything almost. so many of them had been lost along the way, and even the sudden deaths of the hunters had left a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. if she were honest, ariadne wasn’t entirely sold on creating new witches, either; despite having participated and doing so herself. why would she curse anyone with this life of danger, destruction- of horror? she lingered at genevieve’s, feeling tired, and a bit cranky, but found a tiny smile settling on hr features at diamond’s innocent question. she, too, remembered having that same feeling, seated at the dinner party that started this all. “i think you will,” the astral witch confirmed with a gentle nod. “i do not know what to expect from-” she faltered. “these new witches? but… yes. i think we have to all find a way to fit in together.” her words were laced with the worry that these ‘new sister witches’ genevieve promised them were only new friends destined to die. “are you nervous?” 

diamond nodded her head along to the fellow witch’s words. “i just hope they’re OPEN-MINDED.” the blonde said with a curt nod of her head. she knew the possibility that there were ones that MIGHT not be .... okay with their newfound powers and she hoped that even with those feelings, they kept an open mind about it and would come around EVENTUALLY. it was optimistic, but that was just how she was.

   a couple of discarded beer bottles sat neglected at ro’s feet, his body slumped in a lawn chair just outside zelenia’s front door to her cottage in the wooded area where she lived. the ice witch didn’t let him smoke inside, so he’d been out there for an hour, a small pile of ashes marking his current state of mind as he blew through his third cigarette of the day. in an unusual fashion, ro was quiet, softer than normal. that morning, he’d felt… odd, different, and in the passing hours, it only grew worse. or better? 

   honestly, roland was a bit disappointed in himself for enjoying the changes, enjoying the way he could feel power building. so, he’d drank, a bit tipsy and voice raspy from the smoke before 3pm had even hit. to anyone catching sight of him, ro probably didn’t look his best, and when he saw a brand-new face walking up to the cottage with the stuck-up astral witch he’d seen before, an eyebrow rose curiously. 

  “who the hell ‘er you?” ro asked pointedly, a small but amused smile slipping onto his features as he regarded the blonde. he blew a stream of smoke from his lips off to the side, but didn’t take his eyes from her. the other witch, with a roll of her eyes, side-stepped him and disappeared into the home, leaving the new girl alone to deal with the hunter-turned-witch. 

diamond had a tendency to follow ariadne around when she was unsure of what to do with herself. she learned a LOT from the astral witch while she was gone from salem and felt herself ATTACH to her, like a moth to a flame. today, she had tagged along to the house of the ice witch, a cute quaint cottage. diamond would LOVE to live her. however, sitting outside of the house was someone diamond didn’t know of. well, she knew OF roland bishop-bancroft -- but didn’t know this was him. his disheveled state and the bottles at his feet did NOT match the aura of the cottage.

when he spike to her, almost ACCUSING her of something -- diamond stopped in her tracks. yet ariadne continued into the home. she looked surprised at him, eyes darting around before she pointed to herself. “ME?” the blonde asked. “I’m diamond. diamond highgate.” she introduced herself hesitantly, unsure why he even wanted to know and who HE was.

Maia had cried a lot over the past month, she’d cried - she’d been so angry that she thought she might break. Then - well Maia hadn’t known what to do, she’d just felt empty. Maia had just been tired and she still was tired, but she’d wanted to make herself useful so she’d started to try and take care of the others. It had been an impulse and Maia had just wanted to make herself useful. She was rubbing at her eyes that morning, the whole…new witches thing had been draining and she’d parked herself in Genevieve’s kitchen to make them breakfast.

At the sound of footsteps behind her, Maia turned. “Hey,” She said in that subdued manner that had marked her movements for the last month, feeling like she’d borrowed the shirt she was wearing from one of the others and not given it back. “I’m making french toast,”
