I didn't think the sketch would be noticed... This is not the end! (Sing it in Jim Morrison's voice) I redrew Alice's face ten more times... This is probably the most comprehensive work I've ever done on this game. A kind of symbiosis of abstraction and dream. As, for example, in the work of David Lynch and the apocalypticism of Zulawski. I love referencing other people's work, I hope you noticed.

I take on the responsibility of illustrating the book again, despite the fact that I have several unfinished projects (it doesn't matter)… a brief summary of "White Oleander" is a novel by American writer Janet Fitch, published in 1999. The main character is Astrid, the only child of Ingrid's single mother, who uses her beauty to manipulate men. Astrid adores her mother, but their lives fall apart when Ingrid kills her lover and she is sentenced to life in prison. Astrid wanders through foster homes, where she tries to find her place. Each house is another universe with a new set of laws and lessons to be learned, but the world rejects it every time. From time to time, Astrid visits Ingrid in prison, but Ingrid, obsessed with love for her daughter, envy and jealousy, tries to control her life. The girl tries to escape from the suffocating care of her mother and follow her own path.
Now I will briefly describe why and how. in general, the idea to illustrate it was earlier. but I wasn't sure if I could convey what I had written the way I felt. Now we have this confidence. therefore, I will try not to let myself down. why? there were no illustrations, and there was a clear feeling that this novel needed some more creative expression (the vein, by the way, of this work). maybe it will get someone involved, or maybe it will be a reminder for those who have read (or watched the movie). If I wanted popularity, I would have found another way… as it is, what I do is an outlet and my life. the film, by the way, is not bad. but the book is better… At least there were smells. how? hard and for a long time. The roadside picnic took three months. this one may take less, maybe more. It all depends on whether I like what's coming out. There are 15-20+ sketches in the plans of illustrations (unlimited). I will do it in parallel with other projects. now I'm drawing them (illustrations) on paper so that I can check them with the text faster, making notes. I love this process. I'll show you, but I don't think I'll tell you. If you want, you can read it, and there will be places for the notes (if I leave them).
