Chili Chilly Cocoa
This spicy, hot chocolate is perfect for warming up on a cold night. The recipe here will make you a single serving, so treat yourself!
For this recipe you will need a small bowl, a saucepan or small pot, a stove and a whisk.
Ingredients: - 1 Tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa or Cacao Powder - 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar - 1 Fourth Teaspoon Cinnamon - A Pinch of Cayenne Pepper, or more if you like it hot - 1 Cup of Sweetened Non-Dairy Milk, or Water
In a small bowl mix the tablespoon of cocoa powder, tablespoon of brown sugar, the fourth teaspoon of cinnamon and the pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir to combine them together.
Set your saucepan or small pot on the stove on medium heat. Heat the liquid until it is hot but not boiling and whisk it often.
Once the liquid is hot, whisk in the cocoa mixture. Whisk for a minute or two to be sure it is evenly stirred in, and then carefully pour it into a heat safe mug or cup. This cocoa is thick and a lot of the powder will settle at the bottom while you drink, so you may have to mix it occasionally with a spoon.
Add your favorite hot cocoa toppings and enjoy!
