to welcome and encourage a joyous and prosperous litha~
happy litha, witches!
This is my go-to Weekly Tarot Spread which I do without fail every week. Three card spreads are perfect for anything and are able to cover a range of different topics. All that’s needed to differentiate between the meanings is the question that you’re asking the cards.
This spread can be done prior to the official start of the week you’re looking for insight on (Monday) as long as you change your question to match. I normally ask one of the two questions below:
What do I need to know for this week?
What do I need to learn for this week?
Each one provides a different feeling, and thus a different response. When I ask for knowledge the cards I normally get are more external, meaning, the response is very matter of fact. However, when I ask what do I need to learn, the response I get is softer, more internal, and leaves me feeling thoughtful about the week and how I can take whatever I’ve read/felt and apply it to my next coming days.

Litha
Get ready for Midsummer Witches of the Northern Hemisphere. The summer solstice has a special place in my heart now, but I'll leave that for another post 😉
What is Litha
Litha is the celebration of the midway point of Summer. It also falls on the summer solstice, or the "offical" start of summer. Litha is the longest day of the year, and consequently the days start to get shorter, brining the winter. Some still celebrate the Oak King (God of Light) handing over the reins to the Holly King (God of Darkness).
Celebrate
Whether you celebrate the oak king and the holly king changing rulership or the longest day of the year, Litha is pretty much celebrated by everyone.
The ancient Europeans used to light wheels on fire, and roll them down hills into bodies of water. The cells had massive bonfires made out of, you guessed it, wheels. Stonehenge is also a gathering spot for current pagans for this celebration.
For most of us. We don't have access to a massive wheel to set on fire, and if we do, we might be hard judged. And with the slow openings of pretty much everywhere in the US and the world, we have to be creative and celebrate with what we have.
So here is my list of activities to celebrate Litha!
Build a fire to roast marshmellows
Make a suncatcher
Make sun tea
Shadow art!
Sunrise or sun set yoga
Make lemon bread, or honey sweet cake
Make a sugar scrub
Go on a nature walk
Make a flower crown (obvi)
Have a BBQ
No matter how you celebrate, have fun! Just make sure to not set yourself on fire.
Hey y’all! Since it’s finally June, I thought I’d share how I celebrated Litha last year! In parenthesis I share what I actually did for some more clarification, but the rest was what I had planned out for myself from the start. I hope you can utilize some of these activities!
☀️Wake up with the sunrise, do a sun salutation and clean yourself up
🧘🏼♀️Meditate in the sunshine with sun associated crystals (I used Citrine, Sunstone, and Quartz), do a Litha tarot reading. Ask things like “in what ways have I grown?”, “what projects should I work on now?”, and “what aspect(s) of myself should I focus on to keep growing?”
☕️Make some tea and breakfast (I made some blueberry pancakes and peach tea), then sit and eat outside
🍯Set out some sun tea to brew and bake honey cake
🌊Go to the pool and soak up the sunshine
🛁Clean up and get ready for the party (My witchy friends and I began having the party last year, and we will try to keep it as an annual thing. We had a summer centric meal, played with water balloons, read tarot for eachother, and had a great time)!
🕯Come home and light some candles to keep the daylight going. Chill out (I did a face mask, painted my nails with a gold glitter, and read one of my favorite books from when I was younger)
