Nemo shook his head when Jerry said that word. That fucking word. It was enough to break the fish, he was so used to people leaving. His mom hadn't really left, but her absence left a big hole in his life, along with so many other people leaving. "N-no Jerry I-I don't-you-please...." he said. He wanted to beg, to scream, to try to tell him to stay but he knew the words couldn't come out. And even if they did it wouldn't work anyway, Jerry seemed to have his mind set. "Will I ever see you again? O-or is this the end of the story?" he asked, cheeks red and a bit puffy from crying.

Nemo had to let the words finally sink in before he was hugging Jerry “I-I don’t want you to leave….why are you leaving?” he asked, voice shaky and on the verge of tears

Jerry felt Nemo’s arms wrap around his torso and let out a shaky sigh. He hugged back his friend and waited a moment before answering. “My brother left, Nemo, so I’m following him back home. I… need to make things right with him. I came here to get away from him, but now I know how big that mistake was.” He buried his face in the crook of Nemo’s neck for a second. “I’m sorry.”
