Birthday gift for a friend, her favourite animal is the Highland Cow and her absolute favourite character is Will from Stranger Things
And because her favourite iteration of him is in the alternate fantasy version with him as Will the Wise, I made the plushie a little costume
fandom hcs are like:
-shy anxious person is ace
-badass but nice girl is bi
-mean bitch is a lesbian
-bubbly extrovert girl is pan
-all men are gay (unless they're flirty in which case they're bi)
everyone in the notes is so god damn stupid this is a criticism of bi/lesbo/aphobic fandom culture you shouldn't be AGREEING with the stereotypes
I made a graph
they should invent a disproportionate emotional response that goes away when you understand it's disproportionate. they should invent a way to logic yourself out of emotions
the funny thing about tim is that he Cannot actually stay alone for any significant amount of time. like this guy will be at the lowest point in his life after half the people in his life die and still he will somehow make friends with 3 random assassins and 1 hostage. this guy is a social menace and you cannot convince me otherwise

being a queer german person and seeing the news fail to verbalise that the CSD attack in berlin was motivated by homophobia feels really crazy. i don't give a fuck where this person is from, the person who did this was homophobic and wanted us dead, and that is what we should be talking about. extremism has become far too normalised in this country and beyond. for one fucking second, talk about how normalised homophobia and is, talk about what a sad day it is for queer folks, about how we deserve to feel safe and that homophobia has no place in this country. can you actually care about us for once. stop using us to fuel your islamophobia or hatred of immigrants.
i think people really under sell the physical side effects of mental health disorders sometimes. like sure the depression and anxiety may be 'just in your head' but when what's in your head happens to disrupts your sleep schedule and prevent you from going outside regularly and eating consistent meals and exercising and generally taking care of your body. well it sure takes its toll huh.
my number one advice for parents is to listen to your children tbh. and i dont just mean listening to their problems i mean like. when your kid recites the plot of a movie youve already seen or your tells you about what they did at school today or wants to show you their roblox gameplay. youve gotta be invested in knowing your kid as a person or why are you even doing the whole parenting thing.
GRABS you by the THROAT. stop using "narcissistic", "slow", "depressed", "bipolar", "schizophrenic" and the literal R slur (i'm not saying it.) etc etc etc as insults. I don't care if you're neurodivergent and doing this you're still an ableist prick
In recent years the R slur had a violent comeback and I don't know why. Why is it so fun for people to laugh about someones disability or even perceive it as such a bad trait, that they make an insult out of it to hurt others with it.

I'm having a conundrum...
One of my favourite Steve Harrington Headcanons is, that he is a really good cook and baker, for the simple reason, that we know he is home alone a lot and the Harringtons aren't rich enough to hire a personal cook or something. So it would make sense for Steve to have learned it himself, to survive at least a weekend. Furthermore it just plays really well into the underlying Themes of Stranger Things, that you shouldn't judge someone prematurely.
BUT I'm also pretty sure, that the reason it became such a popular Headcanon is internalised misogyny...Steve is seen as the Mum of the group, by basically the whole fandom and it feels very telling, that his most popular Headcanons are, that he likes to cook and bake.
And now I can't really choose how I feel about it. Cause although it kind of irks me, I also really like the Headcanon, just cause the simple premise brings really good Fanfictions into this world and I enjoy them a lot.
the whole "insulting someone based on their appearance is bad because it could indirectly hurt people you like who share that feature" is a good start for unlearning body shaming but i do think we need to go further and remind people that even if there was some physical trait that was magically 10000% exclusive to conservatives and creeps and nobody else ever had it, we still shouldnt be insulting them based on that. because the problem with them is not their appearance its their ideology and actions. by insulting their appearance you arent just indirectly insulting others who look like that, youre literally not making the correct point. stay on topic ya know.
Victor Frankenstein after achieving the impossible and building a fucking person from scraps of the dead: Oh god, ew, ew it's ugly! Yucky! Yucky! Gross! Ew! Ew! Yucky! Yucky! Gross! Ew!
another 3am thought: i don't care about people who are outside of my personal life thinking i'm "not a real man". i just want my rights to medical autonomy. regardless of whether or not i'm "actually a dude", gender affirming healthcare has been repeatedly proven to improve quality of life, reduce suicide rates / ideation, and it has zero impact on anyone else. the regret rates are remarkably low (you're way mire likely to regret a hip replacement) and most detransitioners have had to do it for safety.
if you wanna call me she/her because of "biological reality", fine, do that. i won't like you, but it's your freedom or whatever. unless it's workplace harassment, because it's not freedom of expression when you're giving me shit while i'm tryna earn a living.
but the second you start protesting against my freedom to bodily autonomy, healthcare, and taking a piss, that's when i give a shit.
and to anyone who would like to compare top surgery to self mutilation,
the difference is that top surgery, again, has been objectively proven to improve the wellbeing of trans people. this has been researched for decades around the world.
just because breast tissue is naturally occurring and not causing any physical harm doesn't mean it's bad to remove. would you say the same to cis men (or 'biological males', whatever you wanna call them) with gynecomastia? that's a condition where men develop breast growth. it can have a variety of causes, but the actual tissue doesn't cause any physical harm. would you tell then they can't have the tissue removed because of that? i mean... it's technically naturally occurring.
gynecomastia is the reason top surgery was first invented, by the way.
and if anyone would like to compare it to people cutting off healthy limbs or that one woman intentionally blinding herself then... idk what to tell you man. not having tits isn't a disability.
alr, last rant for the day. back to your regular scheduled programming.
Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism ππΎ you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.
Yes, nonblack people can reblog. I'd appreciate it, in fact, if y'all took the time to vocally support your Black friends/fans in fandom.

hate what people did to the dead dove tag
mothers and fuckers of the jury. "Dead dove: do not eat" is a label on a bag in the fridge. It means "the content of this bag is exactly what is labeled". It does not mean "trigger warning uhhh something". In fact, it means the exact opposite of "trigger warning uhhh something", because you use it with other tags. You write a fucked up fic with extreme violence and gore, you tag it as "extreme violence", "gore" and you tag it with "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with emotional abuse, gaslighting and manipulation, you tag it with "emotional abuse", "gaslighting" and "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with your extremely niche kink that appeals to like 3 other people and may skeeve out the rest of the fandom, you tag that with your kink and "dead dove: do not eat". It's so people know you really mean the content warnings.
It's NOT a catch-all term for "uhhh this may be fucked idk". TAG YOUR SHIT GENEROUSLY.
"I asked chatgpt" oh okay well I asked Jesus and he said that everyone deserves rights soooo
