Endless Summer

Once someone finds out you're a vegetarian (or vegan), everything changes. It's sooo annoying.

Look, all those people with the "you CAN eat that" comments:

A) If your friend is a vegetarian/vegan and you know this and invite them, and still choose NOT to provide a veggie option or ask them to bring a dish they're proud of to share, YOU are the asshole. You purposefully set them up to be hungry to satisfy some selfish schoolyard bullcrap in your head. 

B) No, not all vegetarians/vegans CAN eat that. Some have done it for health reasons following heart disease scares and it's not in their best interest to eat that anymore than it's in the best interest of your lactose intolerant friend to chow down on the queso dip or your Celiac friend to nom on the whole wheat croutons. Some people have also been vegetarian/vegan for so long, that contact with meat leads to upset stomach symptoms similar to those described by many who are lactose intolerant.

C) People who do it for ethical reasons tend to feel about it as strongly as one might feel about religion. Just because you're a lapsed Catholic who forgot when Lent was this year doesn't mean your Hindu friend has to eat the veal sliders or that your Jewish friend needs to prove his worth by trying the BBQ'd pork. Again, unless your goal is to force your party guests into an existential crisis, no, they can't eat that. Beliefs aren't solely the providence of religion.
