Modern AU Dante and Mephiston waow...., (context belowww)
Poor attempt to break free of feeling washed at art. Modern AUs always have me by the neck my god. The things I would do to see these guys interacting in a "coworkers w benefits" kind of dynamic free of standard 40k puritanism gjusjkghsh gosh someone sedate me. It's also just mad funny to imagine these guys— yknow like... men literally conditioned to be super soldiers, in a corporate office setting 💀like can we IMAGINE a 70-80 year old human Dante contemplating retirement while in a board meeting or smth 💀💀 like that's literally twin <- not even close to retirement age.
anyways here's some mega cringe background lore on the two of them that I lowkey cooked while high as fuck so excuse the fact it's like super cliche 💀. The AU basically makes it so that the blood angels are just employees at their "dad's" biopharma company and yeah ik biopharma's got a rep for being kinda shady buttttttttt let's just hope sanguinius is running his plasma/bloodwork firm ethically 💀💀.
Not sure I will ever touch on this again cuz I just wanted an excuse to draw them in suits but who knows :]
The Blooded of Baal had beseeched the Angel of legend to set foot upon their soil, to bring an end to the endless war and the reign of death. Yet what descended was not the Angel, but the false and savage Beast—come to seize the scepter and the seat that were not wrought for it.
This continues the 'Fallen-but-Untainted Sanguinius' alternate timeline.

You had strictly discussed that no nonsense was to happen when you and Abaddon were gone. Nothing. What did they do? Utter nonsense. You came back to several pieces of furniture missing, Loken with a broken arm, Aximond with a black eye, and the other lunar wolves refusing to meet your eyes like guilty dogs. Most likely from other things you hadn't found. Which is why you were now discussing it with the remaining mournival and Horus.
And by discussing, you'd had the four of them lined up for a lecture. An hour-long one. The remaining Lunar wolves standing behind, waiting for their turn.
But it was Tarik who was currently holding in a snicker while you were wagging a rolled-up stack of paper at Horus. He had an idea. A terrible, hilarious idea. Loken and Aximond shot him a questioning look before catching a similar bout of giggles, as if they knew what he was thinking.
"What is so fu-" Tarik Torgaddon partially squatted down, hands on his knees, to meet you at eye level as if talking to a child.
"Sorry, Mum. I figured I'd... get down to your level to understand the issue at hand. I don't want to fall short of understanding."
There was an audible moment of silence. The lunar wolves were distancing themselves from the mournival and your husband, memorizing the details of the carpets.
"Get down... to my level?" You spoke calmly.
"Yes, mum."
"Because I'm short?"
"Yes."
"Interesting... very interesting... Abaddon?"
"Yes, Mother?"
"Take his moustache." You replied, and for a brief moment, they saw the only look of amusement that had ever crossed Abaddon's face, and Tarik knew fear.

It was a simple conversation. You stood in front of Titus, bringing him up to date on the events of the month since his absence. Your head turned up, so to look your son in the face.
Suddenly he grunted, as if he just had the most brilliant of ideas. Titus knelt before you. Armor thudding against the ground as he lowered himself down. There was a look of humor on his face. Other sons around you both turned to look your way.
"Titus, why did you kneel?"
"So you wouldn't strain your neck, Mother. This evens out your line of sight." He replied. Others around him looked as if he had a stroke of genius.
"Was that a polite way of telling me I'm short?" You amused, raising a brow.

Getting Corvus to look the way I imagined was... a journey.
It took 11 sketches of him, two comic pages featuring Dorn, one quick chibi sketch, and two days of inking with a 0.05 fineliner before I was finally happy with the result.
⁺⊹˚.⋆ I'M BACK! Starting next week, I'll be posting requests and longer headcanons. I've been watching some edits of the movie Obsession and I wanted to share something with you all.
Messages ALL DAY LONG—literally, he’d be texting you constantly.
He’d follow you around in public and keep a whole collection of photos of you in his gallery.
"You don't love me as much as I love you!"
Uncontrollable jealousy; he basically wouldn't let anyone get close to you.
A professional-level stalker—he’d know everything, absolutely everything about you; he’d have your passwords, restrict anyone who messaged you, and isolate you from your friends.
𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐢𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐨
"Everything I do, I do for love."
Extreme dependency mixed with uncontrollable jealousy; he’d want to keep you under his control at all times.
He’d never leave you alone or let you go out by yourself; he’d stay by your side practically 24/7.
Photos of you scattered all over his room—almost like a shrine dedicated solely to you.
He’d threaten to harm himself if you ever tried to break up with him.
𝐈𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐰𝐚
He’d fly into a rage whenever he felt even a shred of jealousy; he couldn't stand seeing you so much as talk to other people.
"If you aren't mine, you won't belong to anyone else."
Threats would be commonplace; he would control you constantly. It would essentially be a situation where overprotectiveness and control go hand in hand.
He wouldn't let you have social media or any outside interactions; he would keep you under his control at all times.
Photos of you are the only things in his gallery; he worships you like a goddess.
𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐨
He would constantly send gifts to your home—flowers, letters, food—anything to get your attention.
He would never take "no" for an answer; he would keep pursuing you until you gave in and finally loved him the way he wants to be loved.
Shinichiro would stalk you everywhere; he would literally be with you all the time.
Extremely romantic and possessive; while he showers you with all the affection in the world, he resents you when he feels threatened.
"Is it so hard for you to love me the way I love you?"
So to piggyback of being short around your primarch spouse, picture being short around your step gene-sons.
Some are going to be real respectful. Others? They'll think it's the funniest thing.
The mournival got real sassy one week and started to squat to talk to you. They even had Horus doing it for a while. Torgaddon laid down one day so you'd have the high ground for once. No one got dessert that week.
The space wolves will pick you up physically to remove you from a situation they don't like you in.
Titus will kneel on one knee to discuss things with you if the conversation goes on for too long. The other ultramarines started to do it as well. Roboute thinks it's a reasonable action.
Dante once pulled a chair to sit in while you chatted. Just to be at eye level with his gene-mother. Seth got you a step stool. Sanguinius had to hold back a snort.
The salamanders will get you things from shelves you can clearly reach. They also made you one of those grabby claw things.
I saw the post of astartes wanting lovins from their legion mother and now I'm just imagining the Mother of Ravens/Lady Corax/Corvus' wifey getting to be all doting to her emo sons,,, I like to think they get all huffy but don't deny her affection because mama loves them,,,
Oh they absolutely do.
It's all huffs and grumbles, but not a single one of the astartes would dare deny their precious Lady the opportunity to dote all over them.
Corvus loves it. He cares so deeply about you and his sons, knowing that his legion treasures you so much is a huge weight off his shoulders- especially considering how scared he was that they would scare you away due to disliking or distrusting you.
He likes to watch from the shadows while you fuss over his sons as they return or leave, laughing to himself at how they all seem to fluff up in annoyance while also leaning into every touch and bragging to each other later about who got more of your compliments and well-wishes.
If you're upset with them for any reason, there is a mad scramble to fix it. Questions to their father, re-tracing their steps to find the error, and many apology gifts.
You bring a light and life to the Raven Guard that none of them can live without, now, that is for certain. If you are ever not there to welcome them or see them off somewhere, they pout about it for days, and will find ways to subtly ask their great father when you will be returning to them.

Lion El’Jonson
“You would be transformed into a worm?” The Lion stares for a long uncomfortable moment. “By whom?”
“That isn’t important.”
“It is absolutely important.” The Lion turns a silly relationship question into an active investigation, he wants to know whether this is a psychic curse, xenos bioweapon, mutation, assassination attempt or some kind of loyalty test. “No hypothetical question is this specific without cause.” After demanding several clarifications he finally answers. “If you remained yourself then yes but you would be kept in a secure terrarium until the threat was identified.”
Fulgrim
“Yes.” Fulgrim answers without hesitation. “You could become the lowliest creature crawling beneath the soil and I would still recognize the beauty of your soul. I would commission a garden worthy of you, a miniature palace of crystal so that I might admire you without placing you in danger.” He understands the actual point of the question but unfortunately he begins designing the worm enclosure aloud. “The crystal should be rose tinted… No, perhaps amethyst! And you would need a miniature crown.”
“Fulgrim, I’m not actually becoming a worm.”
“No, but the concept has artistic merit.”
Perturabo
“What species?” Perturabo asks.
“Any worm.”
“That isn’t sufficient information.”
“It’s just a question.”
“The conditions determine the answer.” Perturabo requires data. Are you an earthworm? A parasitic worm? A giant alien worm? Do you retain human cognition? Can you communicate? Was the transformation deliberate? Can it be reversed? You tell him he is thinking too hard and he becomes offended. “You have presented me with a logistical problem and now object to its proper examination.”
He builds you a worm habitat capable of surviving orbital bombardment, it has climate control, nutrient monitoring, automated soil rotation and six redundant life support systems.
You ask whether that means yes.
“Obviously.” Perturabo crosses his arms.
“Then why didn’t you just say that?”
“Because love does not exempt one from adequate planning.”
Jaghatai
“A worm?” Jaghatai understands the question perfectly but refuses to let you win easily “Would you still complain when I travelled too quickly?”
“I’m a worm.”
“That has never stopped you from complaining before.” He smiles. “Yes, I would love you but I would place you in a small pouch and carry you with me because worms are slow and I am not.”
Russ
“Why are you a worm?” Russ frowns.
“It doesn’t matter.”
“Did Magnus do it?”
“No.”
“Then who?”
“Nobody, it's hypothetical.”
“Oh.” He squints at you then suddenly realizes what you are actually asking. “You want to know whether I would still choose you if you were helpless, strange and unable to offer me anything.” His expression softens. “Yes, little worm, I would keep you close. I would guard you from birds, frost boots and foolish men.” He then spends the rest of the day calling you ‘my little worm’ in front of everyone. You regret asking.
Dorn
“Yes.” Dorn answers literally and sincerely
“You wouldn’t be upset?”
“I would be concerned.”
“But you would still love me?”
“Yes.”
“What would you do?”
“Construct an appropriate habitat.” Dorn immediately begins listing practical requirements. He doesn’t mock the question and simply accepts that his beloved is now a worm and begins arranging defences.
“That’s very romantic.”
“It’s basic responsibility.”
Konrad Curze
“If you were a worm?” Curze looks at you with enormous, unblinking eyes. “Soft and defenseless, buried beneath the earth, surrounded by larger things waiting to devour you and unable to scream.” He leans closer. “I would know you, I would know which trembling little thing was mine.”
Sanguinius
“Yes.” Sanguinius answers before the question is even finished. “I would love you in every shape. I would miss your voice, your hands and your smile but I wouldn’t mistake loss for an end to love.” He smiles with unbearable tenderness. “I would keep you safe in the gardens.”
Ferrus
“No.” Ferrus frowns. “Because you wouldn’t be a worm.”
“That isn’t the point.”
“Then the question is defective.”
“It is supposed to test whether your love is unconditional.”
“Why not ask that?”
“Because this is funnier.”
Ferrus stares at you as though humour itself is a structural weakness until he realizes you are genuinely waiting for reassurance.“If some force reduced you to a worm, I would still love you. I would also locate whoever caused it and crush them.”
“Thank you.”
“But I would prefer you did not become a worm.”
“I’ll do my best.”
“Good.” He considers the matter settled forever.
Angron
“Who called you a worm?” Angron’s expression changes immediately. “Who made you think I would stop loving you?”
“It’s only a joke.”
Angron understands the emotional insecurity underneath the question and it makes him furious at the possibility that you might doubt him. “You could be wounded, changed, broken, silent or helpless. You would still be you and if anyone stepped on you, I would kill them.”
“What about birds?”
“I would kill the birds.”
“All birds?”
“All birds within reach.”
You explain that birds are an important part of the ecosystem but Angron is unmoved. The skies are no longer safe.
Guilliman
“Yes, of course.” Guilliman recognizes the question, he saw it in archived social records and knows there is a socially appropriate response.
“That sounded rehearsed.”
“It wasn’t rehearsed.”
“You knew the answer before I asked.”
“I understood the likely intention.”
“You’re treating this like diplomacy.”
“I am not.” (He absolutely is.)
Mortarion
“A worm in the soil living among rot and decay?” Mortarion looks suspiciously pleased by the concept.
“Yes.”
“You might be better adapted than most.” He studies you for a moment then recognizes the hurt hidden behind the absurdity. “I would.”
“You would what?”
“Still love you.” He sounds almost annoyed that you made him say it aloud. “I would keep you somewhere dark and damp.”
“That sounds terrible.”
“It is what worms require.”
Magnus the Red
“What an intriguing problem.” Magnus’s eye brightens, already taking it far too seriously. “If consciousness remains intact despite radical physical transmutation then the soul must maintain continuity independent of neurological structure-”
“Magnus.”
“Alternatively, perhaps the worm body develops a psychic essence capable of housing your existing identity-”
“Magnus, it’s a yes or no question.”
“It is absolutely not.”
Soon Magnus is surrounded by floating books, he begins investigating transformation rituals, reincarnation, biomancy and the metaphysics of personhood.
“Would you love me?”
He looks genuinely startled that this was ever in doubt. “Of course.”
“Then why all this?”
“Because I intend to reverse it.”
He spends the next three weeks trying to prevent an event that was never going to happen.
Horus
“A worm?” Horus laughs warmly. “My love, I would recognize you if you were hidden among ten thousand worms.”
“How?”
“You would be the one causing trouble.” He smiles. “Yes, I would still love you. I would carry you in my pocket during councils and ask for your advice.”
“I couldn’t talk.”
“You would find a way to express disapproval.” Horus understands the question, reassures you and makes you laugh without making you feel foolish. You almost forget that he could probably convince an entire expeditionary fleet to love him as a worm too.
Lorgar
“Reduced from your present form yet retaining the essence of your soul...” Lorgar begins composing a sermon about love transcending flesh, the sacred humility of crawling creatures and the divine significance of transformation. Minutes later he finally returns to the original question. “Yes. I would love you.”
“Thank you.”
“I might even love you more profoundly, for your suffering would reveal-”
Vulkan
“But worms are very small and easily harmed.” Vulkan looks worried and is immediately concerned for your safety. “And many people don't watch where they walk.”
“Vulkan, it isn’t real.”
“I would make you a garden, a safe one with rich soil and small shelters.” He has already lifted you carefully, as if you might transform at any moment.
“And you’d visit me?”
“Every day.”
“Would you talk to me?”
“Of course.”
“What would you say?”
“The same things I say now.”
Corvus Corax
“Yes.” Corax’s answer is immediate and quiet. “A change of shape wouldn’t erase what you meant to me. I would place you somewhere hidden and where no one could find you.”
“That sounds ominous.”
“For protection.”
“Would you visit?”
“At night.”
“Why only at night?”
He doesn’t answer.
Alpharius Omegon
“You are already a worm.” Alpharius looks at you calmly.
“What?”
“Exactly.”
“That doesn’t make sense.”
“Doesn’t it?”
“No.”
He refuses to explain.
Omegon enters five minutes later and you ask him the same question.
“Of course I would.”
“He said I’m already a worm.” You point accusingly toward Alpharius.
Omegon nods thoughtfully. “Then the question has already been answered.”
Neither of them will clarify whether this is a joke, metaphor, code phrase or operational secret but later you find a tiny box of soil beside your bed with a note written ‘for contingencies’. You still do not know which twin left it.
