Heavenly/Paladin

"Thanks Angel!" He almost wanted to argue killing a familiar was a waste of a good demon, but he didn't. "You're the best!" he grinned, giving the Paladin's shoulder an excited shake.

Any lingering doubts or hesitations Arthur might've had immediately vanished upon hearing the praise! "Of course I'm the best! I am the Paladin of the Order! Hahah! I'll go get it handled right away!" He was originally planning to postpone it but how could he not after Lewin thought so highly of him!?

Oh now, it looked like it might actually be easier than Lightning first thought. He grinned. "Hmm, possibly," he said honestly. "They seem to have the social connection for sure and no doubt if she goes off the rail he can help control her." He had his doubts that she would but with all the new demonic activity, you could never be sure. "He'd be a powerful familiar no matter what."

At least Lewin was honest. There wasn't a solid guarantee that such a contract would keep Nix in line. Though Arthur couldn't deny that her own father should be able to restrain her when needed. "A powerful familiar indeed.. No one has been able to make a contract with him before." Mainly due to the fact the water dragon had been so difficult to track down in the past. It was as if he simply vanished one day with the Shinto belief. Was it the right call to let Nix escape the standing execution order? Well.. if Lightning felt this strongly about it and believed it would work somehow, then perhaps. His friend hadn't steered him wrong before. ".. Alright. I'll inform the Vatican that I'll be dropping the order and that your contract with Nix's father will be the new 'leash'. After all.. We could always threaten to summon and kill him if she steps out of line."

Dang, looked like Lewin will have to use his most powerful tool. Persistence. "Actually the friend is her demonic father," he said casually, still smiling. "She got no idea I'm trying to do this. And just imagine, Angel! I'd be in contract with a powerful demon related to her. That could be useful."

"Her demonic father?" Now that was different. Lewin didn't mention at first that the would-be contract would be with Kuraokami. The Paladin had heard the dragon was making himself at home in True Cross Academy, walking around like it was his right. Perhaps the fellow exorcist getting a collar around him would be beneficial. "It makes sense why he would his Nephilim offspring to be off the hook for execution then.. Do you think this contract would keep her in line?"

"Sure sure, dangerous demon," he chuckled. "But you see, she got a high level demon friend who says if I get ya to lift the deal, he'll do a contract with me!" He was clearly very excited about it.

"No doubt part of her scheme to get out of the deal! Are you truly falling for such a trick, Lightning? I thought you wiser then that.. I am not discarding the order just so you can have a supposed contract with some demon. High Level or not! I'm sure this 'friend' isn't even a friend of hers at all." Seemed he wasn't budging just yet. Arthur was anything if not stubborn.

"Yup, that one," he grins. "You made a deal with her, something about losing control and execution or whatever. I need you to lift it."

"Surely you jest, Lightning.. Why would I lift that order? She entered into it of her own accord. Besides.. It's fitting for a dangerous demon, wouldn't you agree?" Arthur couldn't fathom why Lewin would want that. He could talk to the beast just fine with the execution order in place!

"FUCK YOU! This is all your fault!!" He immediately went for a second attack, this time exploding a burst of flames beneath Arthur's feet that would send him flying should he not jump out of the way this time. 🐈‍⬛

"My fault?" Arthur jumped out of the way. He wasn't going to let such wretched flames tarnish him for a moment! In a way it was his fault but it was for the good of Assiah wasn't it?

Arthur quickly brought out Caliburn to take the brunt of the blow, sliding back from the force of it. As much as he wanted to kill Rin right then and there.. He still did not have permission to do so. What a pain it all was! "All I spoke was the truth, Demon!!"

"Why...? She hasn't done anything wrong! Unlike me. There's no reason for that!" 🐈‍⬛

"True, she had committed no crimes against humanity.. Yet. But she is still born from a demon and infiltrated our ranks, no less! Besides, the death sentence was her idea.. Sad to say, the ploy worked in making the Grigori spare you both for now." Arthur saw the flame and mentally glowered at how Rin didn't entirely snap like he expected. At least this would rattle him and possibly make him lose control. "And if you want to know why. Ask her yourself."

"The hell are you going on about now? Are you just trying to mess with my head?" 🐈‍⬛

"Ah so the other foul demon did not tell you?" Oh how glorious this was going to be. Arthur wondered how fast Rin would ruin his last chance and surrender his freedom. Surely it would be justice to see Nix's efforts go to immediate waste. "The reason you are still here is because your teacher made a deal.. To accept a death sentence herself, much like your own conditions. If her true demon side were to come up.. She will die~."

"I'm really not in the mood to deal with you right now. Don't you have an actual job? Or do they just pay you to make the Order look bad?" 🐈‍⬛

"HAHAHA! I do make the Order look amazing do I not?" Arthur laughed some more, not really getting there was a dig at him in there. He sighed a little and smirked down at Rin. "So I've noticed.. How quick demons are to turn on one another. It really is amusing. Too bad your loyalty only goes so far, even after one has given up their life, in essence."
