The Necrea Chronicles (or TNC) is an expansive high-fantasy universe created by @thecrisisnight (aka me). The world can be a bit overwhelming, so here's a quick guide to the
Arcs:
There are two major arcs in The Necrea Chronicles and two minor arcs. Each arc can be read independently of the others and there is no recommended 'order' in which to read them. If you read them all, though, the pieces will begin to fall into place and you will get to see the entire picture. You can look for posts about each arc by their respective tags.
1. The Grim Family arc:
What happens when Death wants to live?
The first of the major arcs.
A trilogy of novels that turn the age-old trope of the Grim Reaper Story into one of generational trauma and overcoming the past through healing - Including that progress is not always linear. Dark coming of age and dark found family tropes feature heavily. Reader discretion advised, and check content warnings.
Current WIP. 1/3 books complete. 2/3 books in drafting.
This arc also has 3 side stories! All 3 are in the very early in development and exist outside of, but adjacent to, the main plotline.
2. The Cornerstone arc:
Cornerstone - Noun
An important quality or feature on which a particular thing depends or is based.
In this case, that particular thing is your life.
The second of the major arcs. Another trilogy, this one distinctly lighter in tone compared to The Grim Family.
This story focuses on a teen girl belonging to a people known as the 'Jiweans' - a people known for their near-indestructibility save for one thing: their Cornerstone. Her name is Orva and in the months following her receiving custody of her Cornerstone, she is pulled into a strange series of events that quickly unravels into a conspiracy she may have to face head-on- right outside her front door.
While technically all 3 books have a complete draft, one is very old and two are very, VERY old so heavy revising of just about everything will need to be done. Priority after The Grim Family is finished.
3. The Valkkyn arc:
Flight is beautiful - Until you're doomed to fall.
The first of the minor arcs. Currently planned to be a standalone book or possibly a novella. Undecided. If you like the dying magic trope and winged fellas and steampunk vibes, you'll love this one.
The book follows an eccentric scientist, his robotic caregiver, and a visually-impaired prophet as they endeavor to save their floating city and its people from from falling into the swirling maelstrom below.
Full (very old) draft complete.
4. The Ferrier arc:
There is not always a face behind every mask.
The second of the minor arcs. currently planned to be a novella and an anthology, but who knows. If you like found family and the 'how dare you infect me with morals' redemption arc type, this arc is for you.
This arc follows the rise of the Ferrier, revealing more of their mysterious past, and detailing the adventures they and their group went on before, during, and after the main plotline.
This arc has not been started yet.

Orva, born Orva Origo, is a Jiwean who grew up on the west coast of Necrea. She is the main POV character of the Cornerstone arc.
She's a definite extrovert. At her best, she's sassy, fun-loving, emotionally open, and confident. At her worst, she's stubborn, loud, temperamental, and generally immature. You will never have to wonder if she's mad at you - she will make it VERY obvious. She loves the outdoors, the sun, and all things beachlike since that is where she grew up. She's very magically proficient. She dislikes being babied, pitied, and otherwise anything she feels restrains or holds her back.
Grim, born Grim David Arcanir, is a Reaper who grew up on the Reaper Island off the east coast of Necrea. He is the main POV character of the Grim Family arc.
He's quiet and cripplingly shy, but if you get him going on a topic he loves, good luck ever shutting him up. Though extremely empathetic towards others, he's not very good at expressing it or reading what is appropriate to say or do in what context. He's (morbidly) fascinated by humanity and likes tomatoes and drawing in his sketchbook. He dislikes loud noises. If you yell at him he will be sad so please don't :((
