âMaybe you were into some kinky clown shit and thatâs how they got all over you,â he snorted, quickly pulling one off of the maleâs skin without any notice. ââI hate children. Sucks for you, I guess.â He quietly lifted his eyes and arched a brow at the mention of his name, giving the other a wry grin, âOh, is that so? Who is your roommate? Iâm happy to hear my name is getting some traction around here. Donât get too comfortable. Iâm just doing this because I think itâs funny and I feel sorry for you. Iâm not a nice guy, alright?â He made his point by ripping another cotton ball off like a bandaid. âI think you just caught me at a good time. What do they call you here, anyway?â
âThere arenât any sexy clowns on Earth, sadly,â he said, gasping a little bit when the cotton was torn off his skin. âMaybe itâd be better for his safety if we kept him anonymous. Youâre getting a little defensive, darling. Sorry, itâs too late, I already know youâre all nice and sweet ins â â He hissed when Loki emphasized his point with the second cotton ball, but quickly regained his composure, throwing the other a disaffected look. âMaybe I like pain, have you ever thought about that? Such a sweetheart. Incubus, but they can fuck off with that nickname. Iâm James.â
hydrabaileyâ:
For the first time in two days, she walked around the facility without a scratchy black blindfold shielding her sensitive eyes The whites of her eyes were still stained red with irritation and remnants of the spray, but thankfully most of the pain had subsided.     Bailey was still adapting to the bright lights shining overhead when a voice called out to her. She turned andâoh, how thankful she was that she could see. The man before her was pretty, and so tall. It wasnât always easy to find a cute, taller guy when she totaled in at five-foot-nine.       Even covered in ridiculous balls of cotton clouds, he was still beautiful.       It took her a moment to respond, lost in her daydream. Perhaps in her mind she, too, had been floating amongst the clouds.      âO-Oh! Sure! Not a problem!â      Closing the distance between them, she puts on a smile and tucks a strand of messy blonde hair behind her ear. She hadnât been able to see to brush it this morning, so she hoped she looked presentable.      âYou look like you got in a fight with the Easter bunny himself.â An embarrassing giggle escapes her as she plucks a cotton ball off the collar of his prison jumpsuit. âDid ya take a tumble in the dryer?â
The girl took a few moments to respond, and James took the moment to consider the stranger. A cute little thing (tall as she was), seeming so out of place in Earth. Her prison jumpsuit revealed that she was definitely a prisoner and not staff. When she finally approached, he chuckled at her words, relaxing a little so the girl could help him remove the fluffy white balls. âThatâs why Iâm here, darling, I killed Easter,â he said, removing what little balls of cotton he could. âI had to act as a cloud in a play after finding out one of the kids was allergic to the cotton glue. The kids might not agree, but Iâm fairly sure I stole the show. That was my first mission ever, so I suppose Iâll just be grateful I didnât lose a body part. What did you have to do?â
kr-0nosâ:
Once the deal was confirmed, he flashed a promising smile at the other and let go of the cotton ball he was currently struggling with. âIâm not well connected, heâs just a nice guy,â He shrugged, taking a step back before cocking a brow at him, âMe? An actor? I ainât made to look pretty onscreen, but thank you for the sentiment.â While he left the other to brew in his curiosity, Jamie left for the clinic and jogged back minutes later, pocket heavy with a little vial of solvent and, ironically, cotton balls for application. âOkay, bend over and take it offââ he couldnât help but stifle a mutter, âHavenât said that in months to someone.â
âYeah, whatâs his name?â he asked, leaning back on the bench and watching as the helpful stranger walked away. He mulled on the thought, racking the most shadowy corners of his brain for where he could possibly know him from. It was only when he was back in sight, jogging towards him, that it clicked. Laughing, for a moment, mostly to himself, he offered him a grin when he returned, something sly running underneath it. He raised an eyebrow at his words, but complied. âWhat a sad existence. Iâm sure you could find someone willing to bend over for you if you looked. Anyway, I remember where you looked familiar from â you were the poor little thing indicted in the Venusian Rockefeller Murders. I followed that one closely. Not because the trials were any interesting, mind you, those were piss poor lawyers. I, ah, worked for a Rockefeller. Guess weâve got that in common. Is it out yet?âÂ

If I can't marry rich
Then I wonât be married at all
kr-0nosâ:
The way he stubbornly held onto his center of attention was amusing if not slightly concerningâ but perhaps he was a performer in his past life, what with the theatrics and the small little pout when his hopeful bubble was popped. âYeah, Iâd say your best bet is the clinic. Honestly, though, Iâm sort of confused as to how you got yourself into this situation butâŚ.â He looked the other up and down, as if the assess whether or not to prod any further for extra information. Nevertheless, he placed a hand on the otherâs shoulder and spun him around before tugging a little on the cotton ball stuck to the back of his arm. âDouble what you owe me anâ Iâll go get some solvent for ya for free. I know one of the nurses in there anâ he wonât charge a coin for it.â
The thought of going to the clinic caused James to scrunch his nose in distaste, and since no further questions had been asked he decided to reveal nothing further, only sighing in relief when the other took him up on the offer. âIâm not certain itâs still free if Iâm doubling what I owe you, but all right. Make sure it doesnât take my hair out in the process, please,â he said, looking over his shoulder to look at the man as he worked. There was something about him, so charmingly unkempt, unpolished, and also... familiar. âOh, youâre well connected, are you? Say, I feel like I know you from somewhere,â he said, squinting his eyes slightly. âAre you an actor, or something?â

ashleyraabâ:
Ashley paused, looking suspiciously at the male covered in cotton balls. âUh, sure, I guess? I donât know about the one in your hair though. Iâm not a barber, but you might have to cut that one out. Sucks for you, man.â Without a word, he carefully started picking off the colorful cotton, trying not to harm the other as he did so. âYou gonna tell me how this happened, or do I have to guess? I wish I had a camera because you look ridiculous,â he snorted.
âThank you, youâre heaven-sent. I thought so, but Iâm still hoping otherwise,â he said, with a little sigh of frustration, before keeping still so the other could remove the other pieces cotton. âIâm curious as to what kind of theories you could come up with for why Iâd have cotton stuck on me, but Iâll spare you the trouble â I was tasked to costume little children for a play, and I ended up taking one of them out with the adhesive. I guess harming others comes naturally.â He was very much grateful that no one had cameras here, except maybe the cameras that served as mobile panopticons for the institution. He let his gaze settle on the other, tilting his head curiously for a moment. âYouâre Loki, arenât you? One of my roommates was giving me the grand old tour, and he said you were an asshole and Iâd be better off avoiding you. You seem pretty nice.âÂ
rockefcllcrâ:
Upon coming here, he didnât understand the significance of the nickname they gave him. Well-versed in the classics as he was, he nevertheless found it difficult to see why they would name him after the man who dared insult the gods by feeding them the flesh of his own son. His crimes had definitely been⌠less salacious, but he realised, with the passage of time, that they didnât name him due to the nature of his sins, but as a cruel reminder to him of what heâd lost: instead, like Tantalus, satisfaction had eluded him, just when he thought it was nearest. How many crimes did he commit in conjunction with James? How many more would they have planned? The world was theirsâor it was supposed to be; but the world turns on its axis, and what has been given can be taken away, and so it was.
Such was life, he supposed, that he now found himself rotting in this miserable planet, a far cry from the luxury of his own, the rust and old metal a far cry from the sleek monochrome and glittering facade that decorated Jupiter. In here, everything was ancient, crumbling, broken down; in here, they were all wretched and forgottenâand how poetic it was, to meet the reason for his downfall in this place where all the damned congregated. âGood day to you too, darling,â he said, a somewhat acrid tone present in his voice. It was a far cry from their days of old. âSo goes the way of the world,â he saidâand shouldnât James already know this? NaĂŻvetĂŠ wasnât a good look⌠on either of them, really, and wasnât that a surprise? Here he was, and he could choose to be honest, dare to say that he didnât expect James ratting him out as well, confess that he presumed to think that James would have been loyal, that heâd succeeded in grooming a perfect tool for him to wield, butâ
But what would be the point? A light shove against against his chest, a flutter of a contact, and Estlin could do nothing but give off a slight laugh, as if to ask did you really expect anything else? âYou did that already,â he said, âmore than once or twice, in fact.â A glib statement that served all that it needed to do. âThink of this as a vacation, wonât you? Rather drab and it wouldnât have been my first choice, but I suppose itâll help you sleep better at night besides whichever guard you chose to suck up to now that youâre here.â
Estlinâs laughter might have irritated him, once, but his energy had been drained completely now. He was not broken, not yet, but he had put everything into his testimony against Estlin â a lawyer out for blood who had documented everything, who could describe in detail every crime they had committed together, who could harshly and precisely defame Estlinâs character. He could not reduce his sentence, but he damn well sure that Estlin rotted beside him. After all, he had promised him. Even after he had broken his promise, even after he had cut James off, James could still seize what was rightfully his. So he did, and here they were. And now that they were, James didnât know how to proceed. âWell, for whatever reason,â he decided to say, tartly, âI canât seem to get it out of my system.â It was a far reach from the beaches of Mars, that was for certain, and he could only scoff at the otherâs words. âIs that your directive? Ought I to sleep with a guard?â
âBlood thicker than the champagne; power in my pride, power in my last name.â

kr-0nosâ:
He was staringâ not that heâd admit to staring, but the entire situation provided better entertainment than whatever was on TV that day. Only when he decided to refill his bottle did the struggling inmate actually ask for assistance, possibly jolted by the movement nearby. Slowly, Jamie turned around and gave the other a slow look up and down. âDid the clinic did this to you? âCause I was goinâ to go get some numbing cream but if this is how theyâre helpingâŚâ Jamie gave the fuzzball on his head a small tug to see just how stubborn it all was, âI dunno how youâre gonna get that out besides, you knowâ cuttinâ your hair.â
There was a way that James often basked in being the center of attention, though it irritated him now to know that it wasnât his face or his clothes that drew gazes, but the little puffs that stuck all over his body and his unending struggle with them. It was a man who had definitely been staring that James had ended up asking for help, and it didnât help much to assuage his shame. Wincing when he attempted to pull at the cotton ball on his hair, this news made his pout deepen, his arms crossing over his chest. âNo, this was my costume. Iâm a star, darling. Well, more like a cloud, but...â A shrug, his gaze assessing the stranger carefully. âThere has to be another way. A solvent, or â or something ââ he said, gesticulating, before sighing. âWill you help me with the rest, at least? I canât see my back. Iâll owe you.â
