Tigger Warning: Mentions of Anxiety
Finn always had anxiety. It’s a main foundation of his personality, and it didn’t help that there were plenty of terrifying looking people in the world. And even those who didn’t look scary tends to flare up his anxieties too because often, he couldn’t help himself but imagine the worst and when that happens, he would either start breathing very hard to the point where he is heaving, his body could even start to shake with his palms sweating, or worse, he’ll faint! Literally faint!
He met his best friend Ariel during his first day of kindergarten where he sat down in the same table as her. Of course, he wasn’t expecting to make such a life long friend at the time as his main focus had been on how his parents had pretty much abandoned him there, yet despite how anxious he was and his inability to talk without breaking into a stutter, a friendship was able to blossom between them.
Finn loves and cares for Ariel with his entire being that at times, its extremely difficult for him to say ’no’ to her. Most of the times he would do whatever she wanted, and would even make excuses for her if needed, and don’t even get him started in the amount of trouble she had gotten them into throughout their time growing up together. Nevertheless, Finn would still tag along with her because she’s not only his best friend but also like the sister he’s never had, and he’ll admit that she does help make his life quite eventful and fun even.Â
Though he was not there the day Ariel discovered his powers, it wasn’t long after when she told him all about them, and let’s just say that Finn never wants to ever be the target of her powers. Or anyone’s powers for that matter, as he would very much rather stay far away from most people who has magical abilities and magic completely if he could help it.Â
At first, Finn enjoyed being unnoticeable by most people as he was fine with not having too many friends, but the older he got, the more he realized that maybe he wanted to be noticed a little more. Which is why high school became a time where he was able to figure himself out a little more. Such as with his sexuality, where Finn realizes that he not only was attracted to girls but boys as well. Though, he was nowhere near as boy crazy as his best friend.
Finn decided to continue his education after high school, but for so long, wasn’t able to find the one thing that he wanted to do in life. First he tried Biology since he had an overall B average in it, but decided against it after he was almost forced to dissect a frog in class. He fainted instantly. He then thought business and accounting may be the path for him, but the numbers got confusing to him and the stress that comes to anything business level didn’t do well with his anxieties. Heck, Finn even considered music himself since it was somewhat part of his own life, but even that wasn’t something he felt like he genuinely wanted to do. No matter what he tried, his anxieties would get in the way and prevent him from giving his all, so much so, that Finn almost thought about quitting college completely until Ariel suggested he tried early childhood care. Finn wasn’t so confident about it, but still gave it a chance, and to say the least, the longer he spent his time around kids, the more he realized that he wasn’t as terrified of them as he normally was.
Being around kids turned out to be rather calming for Finn. His face always lights up whenever he’s with them, and he enjoys the fact that he could be someone they would look up to and can learn from. So obviously, he ended up becoming a day care teacher at Sunnyside Day Care.
Still has a stutter. It isn’t as bad as when he was a child, but Finn would still get a bit tongue-tied with his words and stutter. It get’s worst when his nervous, but by now he’s better a talking without stumbling.
He has a very good singing voice and since he can’t listen to Ariel sing himself, he has been more than happy to sing any songs or tunes for her instead whenever they’re together. He even enjoys singing little songs for the kids at the day care from time to time.
Enjoys temporary dying his hair into various colors. Uses temporary color because he fears that if he bleaches it constantly, his hair would fall off and he would become bald. Also, the kids loves seeing him with a new hair color every few weeks.
Super gullible and can be easily tricked. He is also one of the kindest and friendliest people you could meet once he gets over his anxieties, but is also a little sassy and secretly kinda judgmental at the same time. He tries to give the benefit of the doubt though.
Just a mess of a human being a good 6/10 of the time.
While Pansexual, he is Demi-Romantic when it comes to romance.
Is not a good swimmer, never has been back when he was a child and still isn’t since a good majority of the time, he freaks out on the thought of drowning especially if he’s swimming alone (the only time he’s calm about it is when he’s with Ariel or someone he feels comfortable with).
Forever baby faced, which is both a blessing and a curse. Mainly a curse.
