Everything had happened so fast, too fast for Sarah to process. AJ, the little boy she had helped raise from birth, had killed someone. Now, he was shot after meeting yet another face from Clementine’s past: a woman named Lilly, whose name Sarah had only heard in passing. Apparently, SHE had killed before, too. The trio had gotten away and had been rescued by a boy wearing a mask, but no one knew where Lilly was now.
Sarah shivered, whether from the dropping temperature or unwanted fear was something she didn’t know. Despite the bravery that had GROWN over the years, she still only wished that she were as well-collected as Clementine, AJ even. She took several deep breaths, trying not to let the anxiety show. More than ever, she was glad not to be the only one awake. She wanted to talk to her best friend; it had always been a part of her that friends should always trust each other, no matter what.
“Clementine?” Sarah’s question was soft, not wanting to disturb AJ or the boy who had rescued them - James. She glanced worriedly at AJ, whose eyes were closed, yet his expression was fitful. It was a little hard to tell if he was actually sleeping; he had to be in so much pain. “Is…is he asleep?”
